Unexpectedly (Really), Jobless Claims Fall Again, Falling to 49-Year-Low

This is just because people are so poor they have like nine or ten jobs each or something.

Filings for U.S. unemployment benefits unexpectedly dropped, falling to the lowest level since October 1969 and suggesting little sign of cooling in a tight labor market.

Jobless claims decreased to 196,000 in the week ended April 6, Labor Department figures showed Thursday. The level fell below all estimates in Bloomberg’s survey of economists, which had called for an increase. The four-week average, a less-volatile measure, declined to 207,000, the lowest since December 1969.

You know who's interfering with the US job market to make it appear strong?

The Russians. Ask AllahPundit's leftwing blog pals.

17 If the Fed can just keep things stabile, I think the economy will be fine until 2020. They just got way too aggressive with interest rates too quickly. This should have started under Obama, but he had the benefit of lackeys in there that wanted to keep interest rates at zero while he was in office.

Trump has learned, which is why he's putting loyalists in there now, not "respected" Deep State Establishment hacks that want to see him go down.

It's complicated but banks make their money on a spread. Rates were low enough previously that banks didn't follow the rates all the way down. 115 Speaking of: -again- the Republican Senate is cucking by promising to vote down Herman Cain, who has less scandal and more relevant experience than most Senators. If a former chairman of a regional Fed isn't qualified, who the hell is? And of course, Hot Air cheers them on.

If Mitch McConnell is trying to make the case that the Senate needs to be cleansed with fire, buddy it's okay. You've made the sale. Approving the President's obvious choices is a baseline for keeping your jobs, not an attaboy moment. And if any Senator can cuck no matter how red, the obvious rejoinder is that they -all- deserve to die.

I reflect on how much worse this process could have been if the President insisted on making these smart choices two years ago. We'd be looking at an impeachment trial.

I read a funny story - during one of the years that Sandy Koufax was utterly dominating, pitching almost all complete games, the Dodgers bullpen got in the habit of going out drinking the night before one of Koufax's starts. After all, they knew that they wouldn't be needed the next day, right?

So, Koufax starts a game, and gets shelled early. Walter Alston comes out to the mound, and asks if Koufax feels OK. "Better than anyone you have in the bullpen", replied Koufax.

A tad below 60% through the 50s, steady climb to about 67% in 2000 - as we went to dual-income. Slid to 63% thanks to Barry ... we're just now showing signs of trending up ... but the curve leveled off VERY sharply under Trump. We had nowhere nearly hit bottom under Obama. We were heading back under 60%.

Bush is also responsible for the Deep State crisis we are in today.

9-11 happened, arguably the worst US intelligence failure ever (at least the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor was external to the United States - you didn't have Japanese infiltrating the US to attack it).

The intelligence agencies steeled themselves for a mass purge to weed out all the deadwood and incompetents responsible for this disaster - and nothing happened. Bush didn't fire anyone, and didn't set up any process to identify and terminate the people responsible. Nobody paid a price for the epic failure of the intelligence agencies.

That convinced the Deep State that they were bulletproof - that no matter what they did, that there would be no real consequences for their actions, with consequences that are very apparent today.

One of the main planks of the stupid Russia collusion scam was that Trump was colluding with Russia and Wikileaks to get the Clinton emails. Assange has said from day 1 that was a bullshit story and the media ignored him largely because he was locked away from the public eye in an Ecuadorian Embassy in London.

Yeah, the timing with the Mueller report, where that wikileaks nexus was the central assumption, is interesting.

Mueller had no interest in questioning Assange, which seems odd, given the predicate assumption one would assume in a prosecution for collusion (or conspiracy such as for the Russian national indictments) would have to be tested, that Russia hacked the DNC and gave the data to wikileaks.

It suggests that Mueller never had any intention of that assumption being tested in a court of law.

Exactly. The rot has taken a long time to set in. Even post 9/ 11, Bush went out of his way to ignore CIA failures in assessing occupied Iraq, much less decisively end Iranian influence there or secure the WMDs that the CIA assured us were there. And that despite major blows to American civil liberties.

No one was going to take Bush to task for this at the time: I assumed he was just dealing with intractable problems. But given his silence in the face of Obamaism, and his despicable treachery against the vastly more successful Trump Administration, it's clear he's chosen his side.

My point was more subtle. There has been a tendency over the last couple years to say "Nothing is happening" because like most normal investigations things were happening outside the public view.

Assange might have been arrested today but obviously the wheels were put in motion over a year ago. Just like two weeks ago there were a lot of voices saying "Horowitz is doing nothing". Now we know he will be delivering a very large report on FISA abuse as early as next month. If you go to the DOJ OIG website and look at what he's doing its a lot more than FISA abuse. And by statute, when the IG discovers a potential crime he must contact DOJ for possible prosecution.

Lots is happening. We just don't see all of it until they are ready to go public. Just like a normal working DOJ.

344 I Sold the Arabs the Moon

And I was the man who sold the Arabs the moon
The Emirate Princes, their hands manicured
Their servants with luggage, they followed behind
The African concubines, regal and tall
And I was the man who sold the Arabs the moon
They festooned their flags with crescent moons
And I was the man who sold the English the sea
They wanted the afternoon breezes it bore
The sweet smell of spices from over the sea
The afternoon showers it brought during tea
And I was the man who sold the English the sea
I cowered before great battleship guns
And I was the man who sold the Yankees the sky
The black of the night and the blue of the day
The endless horizon of hope and desire
And I was the man who sold the Yankees the sky,
The English the Sea
The Arabs the moon

Take a look at the people we are talking about. The Director of the CIA. Director of the FBI. Attorney General. Deputy Director of the FBI. Deputy Attorney General. Quite possibly the former President of the United Stated and the person who Will Never Be President along with a host of less but still senior level people at the DOJ, State, FBI.

Now toss in agents from numerous foreign countries including the UK, Australia, Italy and potentially some foreign governments.

There has literally never been anything close to this scale in history. It's incredibly complex and sensitive.

If you are talking about the recently released book, it's not an autobiography. It's not even putatively written by her. And who knows whether the author is trustworthy.

BBush wrote a couple of memoirs back in the 90's or early 0's and they were bland, not at all bitter.

407 Happy Thursday! Today is the day we set aside to salute our savior, the heroic warrior Thurs, who, against all odds, defeated the dastardly Mons race. In a vicious sneak attack, they captured our entire planet three days earlier.

As you may recall, they ordered their slave planet Earth to name a day after them, to commemorate their victory over us.

Thanks to the mighty Thurs, their victory was indeed short-lived, and ever since then we consider the day those dastardly Mons inflicted on us to be a planet-wide day of mourning.

Tomorrow, of course, is our planetary day of celebration- the day Thurs married his childhood sweetheart Fri. The festivities for their wedding were legendary- all work stopped for two days (except for the hapless shift-workers, responsible for maintaining the bare necessities of societal operations and support) and the parties spontaneously erupted throughout the towns and cities of the planet.

So vigorous were the celebrations, in fact, that after two days of non-stop revelry, Earth's citizens found themselves too *weakened* to continue, and ever since, the two day period following Thurs' and Fri's wedding anniversary has been referred to as *the weekend* period.

So there's a little history they never bothered to teach you in school. Guess they were too busy with all that Common Core bullshit.

They're all liquid fueled with 9 engines each for a total of 27.

The Soviet N-1 moon rocket had 30 engines on the first stage and never had a successful flight. For decades people said it was because it was just too complex. SpaceX has put that idea to rest.
