Watched a
mini-documentary on that. It was a result of all the anti-fat hysteria
at the time, the market rushed in with all sorts of low-fat, no fat
alternatives, filled with as a replacement, carbs.

Not all carbs are bad, and that result was due to the simplification of the dumbed down food pyramid.

30 Just a quick heads-up to Jack Straw, because I saw in the last thread he was wondering about Clinton and Qaddafi...

Keep in mind the year all this happened. 2011. It was at this point that Obama was trying to support a putsch in Egypt by the Moslem Brotherhood. This putsch eventually fell apart, but it's my opinion that before it did, the Obama maladministration had hopes that they could do a quick coup in Libya, get rid of the Duck, and then have the Brotherhood take the Libyan Army next door to Egypt where they could provide the tipping point and solidify the control of Egypt by (essentially) Iran.

Take away process "crimes" and pre-Trump crimes, and all you have are a bunch of piddly facebook spammers and some Russian nationals, who will never see the inside of a U.S. courtroom, and as such, the any collusion theory will never be tested. How convenient.

And to boot, even if you want to cite Russian facebook spammers as evidence of Russian interference, you have to acknowledge the Mueller contentions that no American wittingly conspired or colluded AND the intent was to sow uncertainty in American elections.

You know who else spent likely billions to sow uncertainty in American elections? To whose benefit?

55 Anyone with a brain knew that the whole Russian thing was total bullshit from the left the first time they piped up about it. It was laughable. The fact that they tried to make these sorts of allegations about Trump, and his particular personality, made it even more ridiculous. No one with two brain cells to rub together ever took this crap seriously ... except for the fact that it was Barky and his junta's attempt to break the 2016 election in favor of Shrillary.

The only real problem with the Russia-gate crap is that no one from Barky's junta (including Barky) has been arrested and perp-walked, yet. The FISA judges who approved the administration spying on a political rival during an election ... that fvcker and everyone involved need to be locked in jail and the key thrown away. Let them break the world fasting record.

But the idea that anyone ever took any of the Russia allegations seriously is the biggest joke of all. Everyone knew it was total bullshit. You had to be totally retarded not to know.

111 >>Keep in mind the year all this happened.

Yep. That was also the period of the Arab Spring, the seemingly organic uprising that wasn't organic at all.

The Obama administration fundamentally changed our allegiances throughout the Middle East to align with Muslim Brotherhood affiliated countries and organizations with disastrous results.

It's the money and puppet masters behind the scenes that fascinate me. So many events that have occurred over the last few years weren't organic, grassroots occurrences. They were planned and funded by our so called elites here and abroad.

Concerns were also expressed that iconic figure from American history wasn't "inclusive." Furthermore, due to "no tolerance" policies concerning the display of images of firearms in schools, the traditional Minuteman logo could not be displayed due to inclusion of an 18th century flintlock rifle.

Couple of things. First, the symbol is bronze. How is that non-inclusive? The guy has no race because he's IN BRONZE. I can't comprehend the stupid.

179 Like the Kavanaugh op. Instead of "experts" we heard from a crazy lady, and CPL's phony baloney "client", a year book, and a couple of college acquaintances that really didn't have much to say that mattered.

Like the Catholic Kids and chief three teeth.

Like Smollett.

Its all about the echo chamber. Hysteria/Panic - How does it work? These "clowns" are gaslighting the public for fun and profit. Pump up a bubble of hysteria and get attention which equals MONEY.

Information is a market. When you bid up the price of something based upon lies/marketing and sell it, people get pissed when the get it home, open the box and there is nothing inside.

Now if you tried to say: "How was I to know there was nothing in it?" when the whole point of you is -- I'm a reliable authority isn't that a little too convenient? I mean sure "let the buyer beware" but at some point false advertising is false advertising.

Why does the press get a freebie on its false advertising -- first amendment? Its a freaking multibillion dollar business. They are selling a product and we are buying it. Oopsie it was all an innocent mistake - we won't be delivering that product we promised and you paid for?

Would that work for Ford, IBM, Apple?

Freedom of the press is important, but these idiots are reckless and won't change, ever. They are incentivized not to change. (the more hysteria the more viewers/clicks).

Its out of control and it has to be corrected. There is a reckless disregard for the truth. An utter lack of respect for honest skepticism. In other words, their totally skeptical that someone with a D after their name did anything wrong, but immediately believe the worst of a R.

You know they won't correct it. Its a pattern that has only gotten worse over time not better. WORSE. It only goes in one direction, and that direction is MONEY. Its a giant fraud. Yuuuuge.

I agree with a lot of this and absolutely love the first part I excerpted in the quote, but I think it may not be about the money, or at least not exclusively so. Bill Kristol is almost certainly worse off now than he was before he sauntered off the cliff. They have all had their credibility ruined. They work for failing networks whose ad rates are surely dropping along with their audiences.

This is about being in the club and pushing their faith. These are true believers who care not one whit about collateral damage - not to the country, not to the normal people they're destroying, not to the concept of representative government - and many of them don't even care about the damage to themselves.

This is a perverse replacement for religion and these are the true believers - the keepers of the progressive faith. The money is nice but I suspect it is secondary.

Eh. Not to open that can of worms again but I don't think that was the reason.

The American people were not going to sit by and be quiet after 9/11, much as the GOPe and Progs would have wanted. So without a clear state actor to stomp, they had to declare 'war on terror'. The three main state actors sponsoring terrorism (besides Saudi Arabia) were North Korea, Iran and Iraq.

Of the three, Iraq was the most practicable to break. And we did. We just had to follow up plan...

But the Muslim Brotherhood was still deep in Obama's administration, and Turkey has the (fake?) coup attempt, which seemed to mark the end of the old Turkey, and they turned toward being the center for the new "caliphate".

Posted by: DamnedYankee at March 29, 2019 02:14 PM (37IEG)

259 The reason Princess Diana was on so many magazine covers was her appearance always increased sales, even years after her death. MSNBC was set up to profit from the anti-Trump scam because of their position as the network for the flaky left. Feeding the narrative boosted ratings creating a positive feedback loop. Some conservative sites did the same with Obama, like the birthers thinking they could overturn the 2008 election. The problem is they burned down their integrity to get the ratings. Rush and others have said this was a fraud from the beginning, and it's hard to know if they were self deluded our consciously engaged in a fraud for the short-term gain.

Yes, the food pyramid had a lot to do with it---as did replacing cane sugar in soft drinks with high fructose corn syrup. And one more thing---millions quit smoking. You're absolutely right, this IS their religion now. And it's one of the weirdest ones ever - they've got Dogma, they've got Dietary Restrictions, they've got Holy Video Scriptures, they've got a Devil (Trump), they've even got a Messiah (The Bamster) - but they don't have any god at all, except themselves.

Somehow everyone who thinks that they are gods keeps running into the same old problem - that god always turns out to be a pretty damned disappointing one. As a much older set of Holy Scriptures warned... "Put not your faith in Princes..."

The media was all in too. There was an AUMF - which is still in effect today. (Permanent war baby the deep state got what it wanted) The media take their orders from their masters. After a couple years the media pulled the rug out from under the republicans and started pushing for a withdrawal - which would have been disaster.

So square Bush and McCain going all in surge wise? Did they get played and realize it later?

323 >>Just what Flynn was doing over there is a mystery to me. He was pro-Trump mostly, but still a Dem, and I don't know that he was necessarily our hero, just because State had it inn for him. What was Flynn really doing? Mueller probably knows, and that should mean Trump's guys know it all now ... We the People should get a clue as well.

It wasn't just State that wanted him out. It was virtually the entire Obama administration because he was completely opposed to their response to al Qaeda and radical Islam.

I don't think it's a big coincidence that the two people targeted by the Obama administration for destruction were General Flynn, the DIA and Admiral Rogers at the NSA, the two most top secret intel agencies in our government.

341 Most of the songs people are talking about are objectively Great Songs. That is undeniable. But thanks to the Sampler Plate style of radio stations, I am sick to fucking death of many, many of them; especially knowing that the albums that these songs come from often have music far better than the Sampler Plate songs. Black Sabbath, por ejemplo.

I do love Highway Star ,though. That's a speeding ticket song for sure.

This is a bad evolution. The albums used to often be better than the single. Now it is usually all the same (best case) or trash compared to the single.

I have discovered that there is very little point in buying albums based on radio singles at the moment. This was often true before, of course, but it is becoming universally true.

343 Byron Scott has a great article in the Washington Examiner about the fight over Mueller's desire to interview/subpoenaTrump.

since 2017, Mueller has known there is NO EVIDENCE of collusion and that no crime was committed. He still dragged the investigation on for another 18 months or more.

And the level of cooperation by Trump and his team, including turning over 300 pages of verbatim and other trasncribed notes of Trump's meetings, is unprecedented.

Good analysis of the legal standard to subpoena Trump and why Mueller and everyone else knew he could not satisfy them.

403 Watching Godzilla King of Monsters trailers.

Somewhere over the Rainbow seems an odd choice for the most recent one.

Godzilla still looks like he might need to check out ace's fasting plan.

It is always fun to find the little kid inside you and these movies still do it.

It seems odd to see Mothra without the creepy little Japanese twins.

people targeted by the Obama administration for destruction were General
Flynn, the DIA and Admiral Rogers at the NSA, the two most top secret

yeah, makes sense ... Obama's whole regime was "treasonous" and seditious. imo. Those two were maybe heroes, or could be, if we see the Soros/globalist DeepState rooted out.

One line of thinking is that some in our military actually do have a back door to Russia (or maybe to their military at least, to avoid ugly surprises). Flynn was in Turkey (?) in unofficial capacity, iirc. So as with Kerry telling Iran to wait out Trump, was Flynn telling ??? to wait out Obama? I don't know, haven't really probed into what business venture Flynn was on ... or if maybe even that was cover.

maybe driving on nine isn't so great for driving in the way we mean it (aggressively). It's a slower-paced, softer song. it's a change of pace song.

but saints is great and I love no aloha even though that might not be a good driving song either
