I think it was very tolerant and open-minded of us to invite the vicious and violent politics of the Islamic world into our government and schools. It's important we elect as many radical/antisemitic Democrat officials as possible to really teach those Trump Voters a lesson they won't soon forget. In other words, "the left made me indirectly support Trump by outing themselves as antisemitic socialists and that makes me not a Real Conservative at all." Apparently, if you were a Real Conservative, you'd accept the Democrat platform of socialism and antisemitism as a fair price to pay for opposing the Drumpfenkoenig. It's sort of the NeverTrumpers' version of "Bro, do you even lift?" or "Sure, you subscribe to Thrasher magazine, but do you even skate, bro?" (That last one lifted from Ya Boi Zach.) Yup:

Government has no business teaching kids. If the State feels it has a positive interest in an educated populace, let them collect taxes, distribute them in the form of education vouchers, and require parents to use them at a private institution of their choosing.

Which is why I keep bringing up the Cato (me, not the failing institute) Plan.
Privatize the public schools and give each parent a voucher (adjusted for inflation) equal to what the current system would have spent.
Private school? Give them the voucher, pay the difference, if there is one. Home school? Keep the voucher, as long as your kid's education meets standards.
The science is on our side, private and home school students vastly outperform public school students. We can give this advantage to everyone, without costing a dime more than we already spend.
Struggling families would also benefit greatly from the second incomes that would come from home schooling.
Everyone wins but the bureaucrats and the Teachers' Unions. Aren't they a sacrifice we should make? For the children, of course.

I honestly believe the only standards that should be tested for English competency, Mathematics, American History (real, not SJW-ified), and Civics.
Every other subject would be at the discretion of the parents. Basic competency with language, numbers, and a complete understanding of their nation's history and governmental structure are the most essential things.

Smarter move, IMHO, is as follows.
Institute exit exams for getting your HS diploma from any public HS. Allow any student to take them. If you're a freshman, you have to score a 90% to pass. Sophomore? 80% Junior? 70% Senior? 60% plus pass all your classes. Eliminate a lot of AP, honors, IB classes and encourage kids to study hard including over the summers and let them get out as soon as possible. The ones left will be the students who actually need help, and teachers will get the smaller class sizes that they want.
Then, cut a deal with community colleges and trade schools that you'll pay for a year of tuition, up to 30 credits, for students under the age of 18.
By that point most parents won't care if you privatize the schools, and most teachers wouldn't either.

For most school districts, there is little to no federal funds. 85% of school funding is on the state and local level.. and the bulk of the federal funds go to the poor districts in the big cities... and mostly for non-education programs.. but yes, there are some strings. I'm okay with it as long as they put up in a serious way. No more bifurcated age of majority. If you're allowed to vote, then the following requirements should also apply:
* You are allowed to enter into contracts
* You are allowed to buy firearms - ANY firearms
* You are allowed to join the army
* You are required to join Selective Service
* You are allowed to buy controlled substances (liquor, cigarettes, pot, whatever)
* You are allowed to run for office
* You are allowed to have sex
* You will be in your Senior Year of high school (like most 18s are now)
* You are an adult for all legal purposes
No one who is not a full adult - no one who cannot check *every one* of those boxes - should be allowed to vote.

But the problem is that in my view, about 50 percent of non-Orthodox Jews support the destruction of Israel, and probably 40 percent support Israel, while 10 percent don't care. Since Orthodox Jews tend not to send their kids to public schools, this lawsuit is because no brought back the minority against the majority.

I did some work for one of the ~20 regional educational service centers in Texas around the turn of the century. They had to reach out to independent school districts in their region to market services to them.
One of their most popular services was warehousing educational materials that districts were required to purchase under programs to get federal dollars. Boxes on boxes of textbooks and workbooks just sat on shelves until the programs expired and the materials could be shipped out to local recycling operations.

* You are allowed to enter into contracts
* You are allowed to buy firearms - ANY firearms
* You are allowed to join the army
* You are required to join Selective Service
* You are allowed to buy controlled substances (liquor, cigarettes, pot, whatever)
* You are allowed to run for office
* You are allowed to have sex
* You will be in your Senior Year of high school (like most 18s are now)
* You are an adult for all legal purposes
No one who is not a full adult - no one who cannot check *every one* of those boxes - should be allowed to vote.

I give a lot of credit to the Netflix series "The Crown", with Claire Foy, for not shying away from this or sugarcoating this at all. One episode dealt with Edwards plea to Elizabeth to be allowed to come back to England after the war - and they made it clear just how dirty he was in the run up to the war, and how pissed off the rest of his family was when they found out just how far he'd gone. In earlier times, he would have been executed, but instead, he was exiled in all but name to the Bahamas and forced to sit out the war there. They finally allowed him to come back to England for a couple of funerals in the 1960's, but that was all.

The truly sad part is this. If your typical community were to fire each and every educrat, the school district would still be required to collect taxes at nearly the same rate for the next 40 years.
There are bonds to pay off, retirement and pensions to be paid, plus the massive one time hit on severance packages.
So you still get all of the taxes and zero alleged benefits.

This is 100% false.
Kraft and 24 other men who were facing charges of soliciting prostitution have been offered a plea deal. They can admit publically that they were videotaped soliciting prostitution , pay $5,000 fine per charge(Kraft has two charges), do 100 hours of community service, submit to a sexual transmissible disease evaluation, and complete a course on prostitution and its victims. If he agrees to the above, then the charges will be dropped and the videotape will be sealed.
Or Kraft can face his two misdemeanor counts in court, end up convicted, spend some time in jail, still have to complete the above requirements ( or more) AND the video tape will be presented as evidence in court and will be released to the public.
