Why Do I Fast? Because This Guy Yelled At Me
The other day I was thinking about being a fucking little fucking bitch, and then I clicked on this guy's video, and he told me to stop being a fucking little fucking bitch. He has some further points about hiring fat ass fucking fat women as weight loss coaches. Also, he's not keen on soyboys. He's got 80,000 followers now. I last checked in with him when he had like 4,000. By the way, I ended my fast last night. So if anyone was worried, I'm fine. Tired as hell though. But that's not fast-related. I am starting a keto/fasting diet in March, doctor's orders. Am a bit worried about the keto flu and messing up the macros and all that. But I think I have figured out how to adjust a lot of what I normally eat and my fave recipes to make it work. And luckily most of the things my body craves naturally are keto friendly.

First let me address the dude who said I was not self aware. As the criticism was intended, it is true I bailed on the video too soon and missed the point. Mea culpa.
As for my fasting regiment. Usually I will eat one lemon a day. I like eating lemons and it gives me some food entertainment to look forward to. I will also typically have a couple tablespoons of heavy cream in coffee, so maybe 50 calories a day. It is NOT technically a fast, since that would be water only. Some days I will have a bowl of bone broth, again about 25 calories.
It is absolutely true I think that for most people fasting will be difficult psychologically because of the ritual of eating. Not eating does seem kind of boring, because you cannot distract yourself with the rituals. The hunger part is almost irrelevant. I really feel not hunger. And I know what hunger feels like. Oddly I went on a 500 calorie a day diet as an experiment and that was much harder. I felt very real energy deficits on that. I think it was probably because the body never got into efficient fat burning mode.

Liberals have zero sense of humor. I had a colleague who was seriously psychotic (not my snarky opinion; he'd been diagnosed by professionals) who in similar fashion uniformly failed to get any joke. I've been told that that's because psychotics fail to recognize incongruities, which are of course the essence of humor.

It's a budget-friendly store. They keep costs way down by prvidiñ basically zero frills. No baggers, no bags, no fancy shelves. Just the basics at a low price. I get all my plain meats, cheeses, heavy cream, butter, and veg there. If you're looking for something specialty or outside of basic categories, you end up stopping at a different store, but it gets the job done for the majority of my food shopping.

methods to improve sleep or overcome insomnia would be a great topic 1x or 2x a year. I don't have any wonderful advice, been blessed to not have much issues being able to sleep aside from the odd bits of back or legs getting tight/sore after only a few hours.

The
way they do root canals today you don't even feel it. You get the root
canal,
then they put in a temp filling, then you get the tooth prepped for a
cap and a few weeks later you get the new cap. Pricey yeah, painful no.
The implant route is another way, but you better get somebody really
good for that. The best dudes can pull the tooth and do the implant the
same day. Then you wait 6 months for the bone to grow and then you get
the tooth. The better dudes will use your blood/dna for the bone graft
and you have no swelling and no rejection. When I had one of my front
teeth done the first dude pulled the tooth, did the bone graft, it hurt like hell for a week, and 6 months later he tells me the graft didn't work, so sorry. My dentist then sends me to NASA type implant dude, and he tells me no problem. He did the implant and the graft in one day using my DNA, and I didn't feel shit later. No swelling, no pain, nothing. I took one pain killer. 6 months later I had the tooth. He told me the implant should have been done the day of the original extraction. I cursed my dentist up and down for sending me to that 1st idiot.

I think the crown was done by the same dentist in Los Algodones who did my previous implant. I thought I could save the tooth and save money over the implant. I think I paid about $400 for it. The tooth began throbbing on the airline flight home, and two days later I was in the dental emerg clinic to have it pulled out. I don't blame the dentist; I should have sprung for the implant. I will get one done there, eventually.
The previous implant cost me about eleven hundred dollars. And it is fine, just fine.
Dentistry is a huge industry in Los Algodones, B.C., Mexico. You simply walk through the border from a big parking lot near Yuma, and the town is right there, and its small enough you can walk anywhere. And most of the dentists are U.S. or Canadian trained, as well as graduated from Mexican universities, and they use modern equipment and dental products. They aren't horse doctors.

This is not news. At least 10 years ago, at least one of Atkins' books warned against eating too much protein as the excess could/would be processed into glucose, short-circuiting a low carb diet by knocking you out of ketosis (which I've done to myself, more than once). So I'm not sure what point Shouting Man was trying to make.

Dr. Fung has talked about circadian rhythm factoring into people's eating windows. The later in the day you eat, the higher the insulin response to the food is. He says eating the exact same meal at 1 pm produces less of an insulin response as that same meal at 7 pm. And higher insulin levels later in the day tend to make people hungrier.
So, if you flip your window a bit, you might find it easier to handle. For example, I stop eating by 5 pm every day and don't eat again until 9 am or later. That way, I get in a solid 16 hours fasted every day and it's so much easier. When I was trying to eat later in the day and not have my first meal until the afternoon, I was hangry all the time.

I made it up to 36 hours and it really didn't seem that bad. Doc says NEVER for a guy my age to go over 72 hours. I keep on it until my glucose/ketone ratio is under 40 and then I'll eat something.

I was at a picnic and my buddy's wife ( a druggie) asked me what I took for pain. I said nuthin'. She said well when you go to the doc and they give ya meds what do you do with them ? (she was lookin' to score) I said nuthin'. If they offer to write a scrip, I tell 'em don't bother.
The next week, I had an infected ingrown toenail on my big toe cut out. The doc numbed me up pretty good, it was numb ALL DAY and I was active all day and when the sun went down and the numbness wore off, my toe was THROBBING. I rooted around and found 2 non-aspirin that expired during the Nixon admin. I had to keep my foot on the floor to stop the throbbing and fell asleep in a chair and woke up with my head nearly touching the floor. Now I have baby aspirin for pain.

Thanks, Mandy. I'm already low carb--granted, I'm at about 50 net per day because 20 net is really difficult for me to get to. But it would probably be easier for me to not eat dinner than it is to not eat until lunch.
I'm usually not hungry until about 10 am, but once I get there, I gotta eat something!
