Do they just flatly refuse to report alleged crimes where the perpetrator is not white and wearing a red hat? Do only white people crimes matter?
I am frustrated by calls for an investigation rather than a public hearing into these matters. Such “investigations” are secret proceedings, out of the public eye, leaving victims vulnerable to selective leaks and smears. And we all know how such investigations end: with "inconclusive results." My privacy has already been violated, yet I am still willing to testify publicly under oath. Tyson has made the same offer. Our plea to the Virginia General Assembly to require the same of Fairfax has been met with inaction. Despite every attempt to shame me, I am not ashamed. It is Justin Fairfax who should be ashamed. It is the Virginia legislature that should be ashamed. And it is the media that should be ashamed.

Mexico lost, and had to grant Texas Independence. A few years later Mexico decided they'd do better a second time around only to find the US Army disagreed. In the ensuing war Mexico lost the whole southwest though saying they were the rightful owners is...wrong.

Impossible to imagine there is anything resembling such a network inside Venezuela for US aid. Unless the church is involved, and capable.

However, at least up until recently (don't know if anything's changed), there was a pretty impressive mindset of "do no harm" in the emergency aid sector, which had been learned the hard way. In all seriousness - Because of Jefferson Davis, who had become Secretary of War under Franklin Pierce. He started pushing hard for a Transatlantic Railroad (and this was 1854!) but there was a huge dispute over weather it should trend to the north, to benefit the Northern states, or stick to a southerly route, to benefit the slave states. The Gadsen Purchase was intended to add a long flat strip perfect for transportation, and to be the route of the new Transcontinental Railroad. (That's where I-10 is today, the main east-west route from LA to Atlanta, and all points in between.)
Obviously the Civil War stopped all railroad construction, and it didn't get kicked back up until the war was over, and of course by then it took the northerly route, mountain ranges and all.

a problem with that story - in warm southern bodies of water, with everything else that lives in them, it don't take very long before all you got left is bones, and not very many of those. And it's kinda hard to tell race that way.
