But Jason Chaffetz, former chairman of the House Oversight Committee, said Ocasio-Cortez' claims don't stack up.
"It's totally naļve and inappropriate -- you wouldn’t allow it in most companies, let alone the House of Representatives. There should be real consequences," Chaffetz told Fox News.

"When I was in the House, my scheduler would forward my wife my schedule once a week. But you're not allowed unfettered access. And he isn't even her spouse," he added." "... It should be referred to the ethics committee for further investigation."

House IT rules generally prohibit the use of "the House's electronic mail systems and resources" by unauthorized members, and only "U.S. House of Representative Members, Officers, Employees, Fellows, Interns and Contractors" with appropriate permission can use the system. Still, Boyle cited the practice of sometimes allowing spouses access.
Chaffetz said that Roberts having email access could also create other security issues and the matter should be referred to the Capitol Police for further investigation.
"Being given a password to get into the House computer system has other potentially problematic issues," he said.

To be honest, I don't know what that means, but based on context, I think Thompson is saying that lists Riley Roberts as an incoming member of AOC's transition team. In the replies to that comment, someone claiming to be an IT specialist says, No, that's just how permissions are entered into the system.

Very strange, though. Boyfriends aren't permitted access to the House email system. Sometimes spouses are, but not boyfriends.

Staffers are permitted access, of course.

And meanwhile, Bill DeBlasio blasts the stone-cold-stupid socialist wondergirl for costing 25,000 working class people jobs.

A hot-under-the-collar Mayor Bill de Blasio tore into Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Friday as he blistered both the online giant and local politicians who opposed bringing it to Queens.

A radio host played a clip of Donkey-Chompers crowing about getting the Amazon deal cancelled, and DeBlasio ripped into her:

"I came up watching the mistakes of progressives of the past, unfortunately what happened in this city when it almost went to bankruptcy in the 1970s," said a boiling de Blasio. "I saw all the times progressives did not show people effective governance and all the times progressives made the kinds of mistakes that alienated working people."

Below, even the Champagne Socialists are calling Alexandria Donkey-Chompers a straight-up idiot and financial illiterate.

Amazon is a thriving business that would have added to NYC's economy to the benefit of tens of thousands of people.

And even if AOC was right in her principles, she wasn't in her conclusions. She had this dumb notion that New York was going to write Amazon a check. It was not. It was simply going to let Amazon keep $3bil of the $27.5bil it was going to give New York.

She was also wrong in other conclusions. "Those 25,000 jobs won't go to the residents of my district!" Yeah, she's fine with illegal aliens getting jobs in her district but not immigrants from other states and cities? And she has no notion of how this would have benefited business owners, charities, schools, the arts, in her district? And wtf is wrong with the dishwasher jobs it would have created anyway?

The House has used an Exchange-based email system since the late 90's. All the way back to Exchange '98. I built that one. Not Gmail. Doesn't talk to Gmail period. The calendar excuse doesn't pass muster. There are a dozen different ways to get a schedule to a spouse without issuing an official account. He's staff, period. The only way to get someone into that system is if they're staff. Period.

As I said earlier today anything sent/received from a .GOV email address is fair game for Freedom of Information requests. A hundred real journalists shouldve already filed FOIA requests in the past 6 hours for everything ever sent or received from that mailbox.

Well, the 501(c)(3) is a no-go, there's too much partisan politics here. Could be a 527 or a (c)(4), but it's hard to see how a website with a single owner could be said to be a non-profit without a whole lot of auditing problems at a minimum. (c)(7) wouldn't work, since you are getting paid, unless you could be the executive director and a board could pay you a salary.

All in all, there's no good way to structure as a non-profit, but AOSHQ, LLC as an entity can always accept income in the form of memberships and fees. As a small business, you can just run it as a pass-through (which is what you're doing, I suspect), but that doesn't get you the Amazon percentage. That's why Amazon restructured things that way.

This is different. House IT is (or was) totally separate from every other function. When I was there it was HIR - House Information Resources. They required signed paperwork for everything computer related. Whatever shortcuts existed to get around l Human Resources personnell functions were not applicable to IT. If someone has an official @house.gov mailbox that transcends all politics. Paperwork exists.

Average salary for those 25k jobs was north of $120k/yr each. The tax breaks were incentive-baseed and only for the first two years.
