I was thinking about that tweener tweetzer poll Jonah Goldberg had up yesterday, and how ironic it was that just about every single rock n roll song he now considers good entries for his own personal hall of fame will be retroactively, enthusiastically and unflinchingly condemned by him as racist or sexist or genderist or whatever 'ist is currently in vogue once his circle jerk marionettists get that particular bit of cultural heritage in their sights.

17 Good Morning Morons; today is Saturday, February 9, 2019. On this day in 1950 Joseph McCarthy accused the United States Department of State of being filled with Communists. The liberals have ramped up this as a massive fraud and hate campaign by McCarthy and THEY had no shame as they demonized him then and still to this day. In point of fact, even at that time the DOS WAS filled with Communists and spies from Russia. McCarthy's mistake was there were a lot more than he alleged. Now the entire Democrat Party are Communists as their Party plank is the same as the American Communist Party and they actually act like 1950s era Soviet Communists.

18 If this doesn't absolutely demand the shutdown of the Mueller witch hunt, nothing will. Trump should act, and act now.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Friday night aired video of the FBI's arrest of President Trump's longtime adviser Roger Stone, questioning the agency's show of force, and why a CNN camera crew was at the scene an hour before authorities arrived just before dawn on Jan. 25.

'Until now the only public footage of the raid came from CNN, which somehow knew to arrive one hour before the FBI got there,' Carlson said, before showing a clip of Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker being asked about CNN's presence at the raid during a congressional hearing.'

136 Crime may be called "random" but it's not much consolation when it occurs. It is difficult for normal, decent people to understand the necessity of being able to protect oneself and family at basically all times. A street not far from where I grew up, a "leafy" street as they like to call it in the news reports, a senseless murder of a man in the 90s, a young couple just taking a walk. Criminals have the advantage of choosing their targets. It wasn't a "robbery gone bad", likely some kind of gang inititiation. How does one get this kind of readiness across to people? I had envisioned an awakening of sorts, but it seems that a lot of people just want to double down on the nonsense. "Gun violence" they like to call it, a wretched term, since it presupposes there are never legitimate uses of a firearm.

It's been said earlier this week, by Ace and others (and possibly on this thread), this looks SO orchestrated, the hit pieces on these essentially minor Presidential candidates.

They're showing up on lefty sites, and they're so damned specific and clear, it's got to be coming from other Democrats. Got to be.

And if it must be said: This stuff being said about this harpy? Really, I believe it kinda goes with the territory of being a Senatrix, or any other high ranking Democrat fem pol. Being a monster wouldn't ordinarily be considered a character flaw, for these people.

So the claims coming out on this gal, at this time... yeah. Someone wants her dead in the water, before she starts.

Back in the day, when I was stationed in Germany, the town where we were, they hated us. Absolutely hated us.

But when we were taking the APCs through town, to get to the railhead, for transport to the training areas, it was like WWII all over again for the Germans. Terror and cheering, all at once!

I had a buddy who was a TC (which is NOT what the TC in my nic stands for), would bring candy with him, and toss it to the children, like a galdarned conquering hero. With absolute irony and iron behind the stunt.

Morning, everyone!

Regarding the quote above, there "somebody" in question is "somebody else." That is to say Democrats regularly eat their own without having much of a plan.

The last two cycles the Clintons did a decent job of winnowing the field, but now there aren't any prohibitive favorites with that kind of mojo. So they're tearing each other apart. It's what they do best.

The Clintons may make another play, but right now it suits them to lay low, otherwise everyone else would gang-pile on them. Given the fact that Hillary is not out of the legal woods yet by any stretch, the last thing they need is House Dems opening an email investigation into her to get her out of the way.

196 Speaking of Goldberg and Kristol (from the top of the post), what's interesting about them is how tone-deaf they are. Kristol in particularly is wrong on everything. Jen Rubin's another person with two left feet.

Did anyone see her attempt to suck up to Alyssa Milano? It was a typical nerd-tries-to-sit-with-cool-kids moment. Milano basically kicked her foot causing Rubin to fall down on the cafeteria floor while everyone laughed at her.

Goldberg is like Flounder trying to get into the Omegas. For a while he pretended that he disdained them and a lot of people (including me) believed the act.

But it's now clear that he'd shine Marmalard's shoes daily if they'd just let him sit at their table once in a while.

Ever see the Dinsey CGI kiddie movie, Dinosaurs?

There's a scene early on, where everything is wonderful, and you have monkeys and dinosaurs living in paradise, then one night a meteor shower starts. At first, every critter is transfixed at the light display. It's beautiful to watch.

Then the meteors start to fall out of the sky... and suddenly it's panic and chaos, as fire and destruction rains down on them.

That's what I'm wondering, with this election coming up. Is this the pretty sparkle, before the balls of fire come down on our heads?

Or they really are that crazy.

I'm amazed that people persist in assuming that deep down politicians are really super-smart. They aren't. There are still some savvy operators, but the old generation of slick operators is gone. Those guys were cold-eyed killers, since most had served in WW II or Korea.

Now we've got the TV generation, whose skill set is reading talking points and who are surrounded with suck-ups. Klochbar is not unique. There are lots of dysfunctional people in politics who survive solely because the reporters agree to keep their secrets in exchange for various kinds of bribes (or out of party loyalty).

The interesting thing is that the bubble works against them from time to time. I think they really do think that the nation hungers for a Ten Year Plan. All their staffs say so, and so do the reporters they talk with.

That's why they're jumping out in front of it. Pelosi packing the committee with energy-beholden reps isn't pragmatic, it's about maximizing graft, which is the one thing she's good at.

Occam's Razor, etc.

Well yes. Trump is The Great Revealer.

Turns out, the Conservative Establishment never wanted to win and they value their Beltway social circle more than any of the policies they champion.

I don't find that particularly shocking, actually. What I do find shocking is how inept they are at trimming their sails to the new wind. Goldberg's become a caricature of himself.

If Ace hacked his Twitter account to make fun of him, he couldn't have done a better job of destroying his reputation than was Jonah is doing all on his own.

The left has always been an amalgam of accelerating radicalism mixed with the pure unfettered persuit of power. Conservatives are the ones supposed to be steadfast and unflinching, the rock on which their waves of crazy break.

And yet Rubin and Goldberg and company are figuratively running after the Red Brigades waving their hands and begging to surrender - only to be ignored because it's now clear that they don't count.

Oh sure, they get some ink and TV time when they bash Trump, but that doesn't move the needle anymore. It's a fascinating thing to watch.

And I guess that would make "W" his avatar.

Back in the 90s, he was telling everyone that Reaganism was dead and, in essence, what Americans wanted was Free Shit.

So, all that olde-fashioned stuff like liberty, individual freedom, free speech, Constitutionalism, etc went into the garbage in favor of Free Shit, mainly to GOPe bigwigs, that would generate more graft and high paying jobs after their "service" in Congress.

Win win win - for everyone but the taxpayer and middle and working classes and the Constitution.

This is why they hate Trump so much.

He's not endangering their rice bowls so much as all the yummy yummy gravy that gets slopped all over their rice bowls.

Some French nobleman back in the 1770's or 1780's said, about hanging out at the court of Louis XVI
"It was raining gold; all the world held out their hands, and I held out my hat".

252 Being a student of French history, after they got rid of the king and queen, revolts have been in since that time. Maybe they need to bring back a King, at least the trains would run on time.

253 Oh, the French did revolts before 1789, they were just quashed with prompt ruthlessness by the government.

Revolutions often succeed because the government starts thinking that the revolutionists have a point.
