Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | John Sexton: Nancy Pelosi's SOTU Stunt is Just the Natural Next Step in the Leftwing's Campaign to Deplatform all Conservative SpeakersSexton notes that the writers of Amazon Adulterer Jeff Bezo's in-house newspaper are super-excited by the deplatforming attempt, just as they were super-excited to deny Trump a platform for a national presidential address. And, get this, "conservative" pundit Jen Rubin agrees. Why, they must be right then! Super-conservative Jen Rubin's never steered me wrong before. Meanwhile, NeverTrump applauds, pretty sure they share enough Progressive DNA so that their leftwing friends will never do the same to them. Because, see, they're Principled (TM). They decided whether or not to support the leftwing's silencing campaigns based entirely on whether they approve of the silencings and whether they think they'll be Eaten Last. So Principled (TM). Just ask them! They'll write thirty "columns" in a row all explaining how very principled they are are. Hell, they'll tank 30 year old magazines by filling it with nothing but repetitive testimonials to their very high principles.Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

She hasn't the authority to prevent the President from delivering his comments elsewhere. Whether Trump wins or loses will depend on the mood of about 5% of voters in October and early Nov 2020. "Deplatforming" is just another way of saying, "eavesdropping on every communication and preventing people from interacting with each other, sharing information, and supporting each other if they are deplorable people who ought to be destroyed".
Isolate the enemy, cut the lines of communication, and they will be easier to defeat. If the generals cannot warn the troops of an approaching attack, they'll be sitting ducks. If terrorists go house to house killing people and every household is kept in the dark from these attacks, they won't be able to band together and fight back against it. That's why Sweden and Germany arrest people for their facebook posts for merely recounting events. To what extent can this be tolerated? If I were discussing issues with a friend and a leftist overheard me and walked over and tried to attack or shut me up, I'd have to retaliate. Punch them in the face. If we are prevented from communicating, if leftists or untouchable shit people from India working as facebook/twitter censors randomly eavesdrop and cut off communication, how much of this do we put up with before punching them in the face, so to speak? How much can we allow the news to censor our own President before punishing them for it and communicating his words if they will not do it? Do svedaniye is more/less literally "till we meet again", freely translated ("til rendevous/meeting").
The general toast NL is looking for is "na zdoroviye", which means "to health" (thus identical to generic toasts in most major languages). In Georgia (republic, not state) - where toasting is insane, and occurs frequently throughout any more than informal dinner, the generic toast translates as "to victory". Which, as most Georgians admit, is a bit mystifying and funny, since there really isn't any history or tradition of victories in their country's history.
