During Obama's reign the "compromises" were things that Obama choose to give, that he never opposed anyway, and he decided that it was fair and then claimed that he was a giving guy who went beyond the necessary while giving absolutely nothing.
And of course with gun control the "compromises" are that maybe they take less of what they wanted and you loose your rights more slowly.
An actual compromise ought to involve both sides getting something, getting a "win" and both sides giving something up. A trade off.

You think English is bad? There are different "dialects" for almost every area that Spanish is spoken in.
El Paso Spanish is slightly different than Brownsville Spanish which is different than LA Spanish etc.
Nothing huge. Mainly slang.
Some people can tell what village you came from by your speech patterns and language used.

An unreported story going on in Mexico is where the cartels and other assorted thieves are tapping into the pipelines so much that hardly any product is getting to its destination. Some of the tapped lines average out to one per mile.
