This morning I determined from the kitchen clock that it was out for 3 hours and 47 minutes. It was raining steadily, but it wasn't a violent storm.

Amazon failed to deliver my packages yesterday. It was a "same day" order. As late as 11:30 last night, their tracking page said delivery was on the way, and the driver only had a few more packages to deliver before mine. Even showed a map with the driver a couple miles from my house.

Then on one refresh, the driver was suddenly much farther from my house. And finally, Amazon gave up the pretense, and said it will now arrive between the 16th and the 18th.

To be fair, there is a rational judicial sorting process going on. If a ruling will weaken the Constitution and increase Federal power, it must be obeyed posthaste. However, if a ruling will affirm the Constitution and return even a smidgen of power to the people, then it is clearly an optional ruling and has no force of law behind it, so it can safely and righteously ignored.

151 Top o ta morning to ya, Village Idiot's Apprentice & hogmartin.

I had a lot of fun judging the home-schooled debates yesterday. The students were very well turned out, polite and professional. Such earnest high schoolers.

What they lacked was a sense on how to quickly research topics (all used Google and MAIM (Mainstream Agit-Prop and Indoctrination Media). And a good coverage of current events and historical events that would buttress their arguments.

The topics were those I knew a lot about, thanks to J.J. Sefton and the Horde.

Like the Russian seizure of 3 Ukraine warships, or if truth is better than privacy in law enforcement. In the later topic, no mention of the Committee of Public Safety was made, although the safety of the public was mentioned.

That's just anger, not reason. It might be true, but then again, it might not be. It assumes Roberts has turned into Souter, not into something like Kennedy. The latter is a plausible fear, but there is no reason to believe the former.

I don't trust him either, but let's not get carried away. He dissented from Obergefell. He was solid on Citizens United. They cannot count on him either.

And I will note again that his worst decision was NOT a departure from the Constitution. It was an appalling case of misreading a statute, but that is actually different. He did, after all, reject the interstate commerce justification (and got the libs to concur.) That doesn't make it alright. It doesn't justify his errors. But let's be clear on what those are.

Enjoy.

Is it really? And here I am covered in chocolate already and I didn't even know. Two of the types of cookies I make have to have melted chocolate spread on the top and that's what I've been doing this morning.

190 Just watched the YouTube video of the Electron rocket launch, which I missed during the night due to a power failure. At 56 feet tall, it's one of the smallest orbital class rockets today, if not the smallest. Plucky little rocket!

has become more like
"Follow, get out of the way, and when there is no other option, think about leading!"

Prime is great for video and for shipping. As much as I hate Bezos I'd be loathe to drop it.

I had prime for a year and only watched one video. Almost all of the stuff they had that I liked I already had on DVD or Bluray.

197 My husband was putting together the new gaming computer for my son's Christmas present and of course the mother board is bad, of course. The damn thing will have 6 fans, including 3 that have water cooling. Did not know that was a thing but apparently gaming computers put out a lot of heat. It also has a bunch of LEDs in the different components so it looks awesome!///

I started seeing this (water jackets on critical components) some years ago, and indeed it started on machines that were used for gaming. But under the heading of "nothing new under the Sun", fact is way back when I first started in IT in the 1970s, the big mainframe computers all used water for cooling the CPU(s), as well as chilled water in the air handlers. Quite a bit of plumbing was required to do it, and along with that there was an elaborate water detection system in case of any leaks, as obviously water and expensive electronics do not mix...
