Blow-Off Thread: Are These Something?

A sequel to a reboot and a revisionist retelling.

BTW, Grace Randolph is claiming that Aquaman is awesome but 1, she's been saying that for months, 2, she thinks the VFX are amazing and I think they look fake as heck, and 3, she's such a DC fangirl it's hard to take her word on this point.

But she's claiming the DCEU has successfully righted itself, and she's further claiming that Aquaman is better than Wonder Woman, partly because Aquaman's Act III works and Wonder Woman's Act III was a disappointing CGI mess.

37 Willowed:

We just bought a new TV, and I was flipping through the stations ... because ... and came across several that show old TV shows and movies.

I was struck by how much better they are than any of the garbage shown on the "current" channels. No explosions, no car chases, none of the intellectual pablum that Hollywood excretes routinely now, preferring instead to make 17 shitty remakes of classic shows and movies "updated" by inclusion of faggots and SJW types as the lead characters.

The old shows and movies actually have plots, no profanity (of course), and convey an uplifting moral message. I'd not fully realized how badly pop culture had degenerated.

121 Aquaman? I have always loved Aquaman specifically BECAUSE the animation in the original Aquaman series was so epically terrible.

Seriously, if you've never seen it, Aquaman has THE most primitive and insulting labor-saving techniques in its animation, that one watched it just to laugh.

Instead there being 24 frames a second, like real animation, there was sometimes ONE frame per second, or maybe even one frame every EIGHT seconds, if someone was standing thee talking. Often, talking characters would have their backs to the "camera," so it wouldn't be necessary to animate their mouths moving.

Every single swimming scene involved recycled frames of Aquaman swimming past the same landmarks that he passes no matter where he's going.

Ah, Aquaman. Good times.

I did an image search on that red squid guy to figure out what his story is. Turns out his name is "Red Squid".

"Powers include a launchable head called the Crimson Squid Flying Head that turn humans into small computers, a pair of squid whips on the wrists called the Crimson Squid Sucker Squeeze, mouth bombs called the Crimson Squid Shooter, enhanced hearing, and mental electric barriers."

So that's nice! Good for Red Squid.

362 Y's Dice - huh? That's my ultimate point - if enough GOPers actually opposed it, they would be vulnerable to being primaried. Which is why this should have been done in 2017, not even as late as the incredibly bungled March 2018 CR.

You mean you think House, Rs would have actually run as opposed to border barrier funding (which would have been signified by bailing on a "shutdown" confrontation)? Really? Besides a few outliers.

You'll notice border barriers and immigration were the biggest issues making Trump president. Now find votes on these issues during his tenure, where anyone of either party had to walk the plank (actually take a position which would enter into their re-election situation). Hmmm. It's almost as if there's no politics in politics, in Congress, as has been the case for years.

Two more weeks.

Posted by: lin-duh galt

If you're interested in PC gaming, I'd highly recommend building your own system. Start with a budget and do plenty of research to select the parts. Putting it together is fun and will generally save you money over pre-built systems.
Built my current PC after my last (pre-built) PC went kaput back in the spring. Spent a couple of months doing the research. Took me a night to put it together. Well worth it.

Oh, absolutely. The March 2018 CR is what killed us, man.

I thought you were talking about forcing THIS budget through directly before the election, and I don't think even a guaranteed blowout loss in the midterm could've convinced the cucks to vote for it.

Just misunderstood ya.

371 Used to play games on the ole PC alot. Not so much anymore. My favorite? Grand Prix Legends. A Formula 1 game based on the 1967 season. The car physics were amazing, unique for each make, the audio was superb (The BRM had such a nice growl to it), and the graphics were,,,well,,,mid 90s. Still, the race tracks used were some of the same ones used in the 1967 season. Some user made add on's came later and those were pretty impressive too. Some new tracks and some more historically accurate portrayals of the tracks already in the game. Great game!

Sounds like an accurate diagnosis of Pelosi to me!

preview.tinyurl.com links are safe, as far as I know. You can even add the preview. to a regular tinyurl.com link and it'll go to an intermediary page first that shows the destination URL. I think you can tell tinyurl.com to always preview first even without it, but you have to allow a cookie from tinyurl.com.

Hollywood has run out of ideas. They just keep reshooting the old ones, hoping someone will jump for joy. The book world is the same thing. Variations on past successes. Something's gotta give.
