The Morning Rant

talking ape.jpg
"I have an idea. Why don't we let all of the south-of-the-border caravaners into the country, and then have them, including some MS-13 members, live in Meryl Streep's house? It's a win-win: the caravan crisis will be solved and Streep will be able to primp and preen and virtue-signal with her own money which is more authentic than when you do it with somebody else's."

Scientists say that beef consumption must fall drastically to avert a climate catastrophe. But even if you're not ready to give it up entirely, you still have plenty of options that will make a big difference: https://cnn.it/2EpjniC

Bug Foundation, a startup based in Germany, developed a burger made from mealworms that is now stocked in more than 1,000 supermarkets across Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
" If you compare insects with beef, for the same amount of protein, you need roughly 1,000 times less water, 10 times less feed and you emit up to 100 times less greenhouse gases," said Baris Oezel, co-founder of Bug Foundation.

-
Yeah, no. When I was a kid I had a pet horned toad (who I named Alfred because his profile resembled Hitchcock) and I fed him meal worms. That's the closest I'll ever get to meal worm meals.

Btw... the NJ F&W will come to your door to check on Exotic Wildlife Permits, impound, fine and make arrests for violations.

For those of you who requested the Official AoSHQ Classical Music Playlist (TM) files (link in nic), my nearby Costco didn't have the 32 GB flash drives I use, so I had to order them. Then when they come in I have to get each one synched to the playlist on my computer, which isn't a short process. So please be patient with me.

Right now I have only one (1) drive and that one I'll be mailing out today to a requester who's going on deployment soon. I hope you'll understand.

For those of you who either have V.1 or have requested, you can play them any way you want, but there actually is an order to them.

Yep.
10mm is my favorite 'expensive' round. I adore my G20SF, probably my favorite pistol.

But 9mm and .45 is easier to afford food for, so that's what I carry and practice with.

Actually, the Queen still hold Legal Power... I don't understand why she does not step in and stop this mess, as they are literally giving away HER legal authority.

245 >>A well off gentry liberal acquaintance who is always posting FB about tiny houses . . .

I love how the tiny house shows almost always have people get their tiny house built on a big ol' piece of land. Yes, that tiny house might just be tolerable when it sits in a meadow in Oregon, but the reality of the tiny house movement --- at least by a lot of the politicians and city planners pushing it under a different name, "micro-housing," --- is that they want to stack these up like dorm rooms in a high rises in the city. It's not just micro-housing, but micro-living, where you give up your car because you can travel from your tiny apartment to tour tiny office cube via public transportation, etc.. And that leaves the beautiful countryside free from peasants, and only enjoyed by people who respect it and know how to care for it (rich eco-twits).

262 It's unreasonable to expect people to remove the front door of their home.

However, it's totally reasonable to ask self-proclaimed "open borders" supporters to remove all locks from their front door and post a sign in their yard saying "My front door has no locks, come on in"

Once word gets around which houses have done this they will have plenty of house guests eating their food, checking their closets for valuables, etc. and they will get the full "undocumented guest" experience.

Where I live there used to be a cafe that had no posted prices and was payment-optional. The idea was that if you could afford to pay, they wanted you to pay what you thought the food was worth; but if you couldn't afford to pay, you should be able to get food and not be shamed for not paying. It actually worked pretty well for a while! Most people aren't jerks. Certainly mrs_jack and I paid money when we went there, a little more than we thought the food was worth (to do our part in helping fund the charity aspect of the place). However. The place isn't there anymore... the story I heard was that when word got around about the place, too many people began to systematically go there and extract free food without paying. It was a short walking distance from a bus "transit center" so people with little money and lots of time would ride a bus, walk over, get some free food, never pay anything. The cafe couldn't handle the continuous drain.

A cafe, a house, or a country can only handle so many guests before it becomes a problem. "Open borders" is a very bad idea.
