Willowed from lsat thread, regarding spinoffs of TV shows and how rarely they become a hit themselves:
492 Joey - spun off from Friends The Tortelli's - spun off from Cheers (although Frasier was a big hit!) Fish - Barney Miller I could go on.. could be worse. they could take a character that is only alluded to in the series and give them a show. mrs. columbo Posted by: Anachronda at December 05, 2018 * * On the other hand, Pete and Gladys, spun off from December Bride, was something of a hit. Do we have to choose from Gorilla's list? Because for me the choice would be:
HBO It does both culture and news. And its becoming more SJW more of the time, in both. Bill Maher, Jamie Oliver, Vox. Gives airtime to SJW documentaries and movies that don't deserve it. Politics is downstream from culture, so entertainment media matter at least as much as news media. For example. Just now while writing this, I went to hbo.com. Guess what is featured at the top of the web page? This: PREMIERES DECEMBER 7 AT 8 PM Icebox An HBO Film follows the story of a 12-year-old Honduran boy, who is forced to flee his home and seek asylum in the United States, only to find himself trapped in the U.S. immigration system. "All of these mainline publications have little remaining reach, and less influence."
Um, the rest are small opinion mags that have rarely had any real influence, the NYT continues to have enormous influence. There's almost no variation in the MSM mindset on major issues, so any major rag could be substituted for the NYT, in that sense - but the NYT's role in setting the daily "news" table for most of the rest of the "press" remains little changed.
Posted by: rhomboid at December 05, 2018 11:44 AM (QDnY+) ------- Sure. But, "most of the press" enjoys the trust of fewer than a third of Americans. Fewer than a third of that third will be alive in fifteen years - we're talking about mostly really old people who trust these institutions by reflex. If we're talking about impact, rather than the pure schadenfreude of seeing the hated old-guard companies close, we need to ask about the digital media companies. No one reads these rags. No one even trusts TV news anymore, even if they turn them on 7:00 to 7:15 for the traffic and weather. Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at December 05, 2018 11:58 AM (tnY1M) 237

That's why our understanding of social justice evolves. Science people find a new social justice, put it in one of those science things with all the blinking lights, and it ends up being true all up in the social justice parts. Had a shipmate that was a very straight laced young man. Was saving himself for his girl back home. Made Radar O'Reilly look like a Hells Angel Biker in comparison. Didn't even drink. All through a UNITAS cruise, the women of the evening would follow us from port to port. We respected and never tried to pull one over on this soft voiced, acne faced young man. One port visit we ran into him at one of the casinos that had a whore house upstairs. And something happened, but we don't know what. Next morning at quarters he was hung over, smiling, and talking about how his life had changed. Voice got louder and deeper, and the acne cleared up too. Well, it was good while it lasted.
In the gold-medal match, Italy took down the United States, 2-0, in the best-of-three Baker match. Italy swept the match with wins of 189-169 and 210-166 on the difficult 38-foot Los Angeles lane pattern. Team USA had won the gold medal in four of the last six World Championships and was the defending champion, while outside of one medal, Italy has no history of success in the event. 22nd doesn't mention VP, but the last line of the 12th says "no one constitutionally ineligible for POTUS can be VP." At the time it just meant to age/residency requirement, but now that also means the term limits.
I'm pretty sure you can be one of the lower offices in line of succession even if you've had two terms - Clinton or Obama could be Sec. State or Speaker of the House, they'd just get passed in the line. Posted by: Who is broseidon, semi-official komodo dragon shifter? at December 05, 2018 12:19 PM (oZ6kz) Fair enough. Air travel Medical development bringing healthy food from one area of the world to another regardless of the season. A reduction i wood and peat burning stoves for warmth, and reduction in city air pollution from them. ---- Agriculture? Without fossil fuels, we need to go back to using cows/horses to plow fields. I read somewhere that a tractor instantly increases your crop yield by something crazy like 40% because that's land that doesn't have to get devoted to feeding your workhorse. And that's not even taking into account the fact that it's not physically possible to maintain as large a farm without more people, so a lot of people will have to go back to working the fields. Rahm Emanuel is more unlikeable than Hillary. He was run out of D.C by Obama, after he lost 63 House seats. He was run out of shithole Chicago, because he tried to hide A Police Video, of a Black Teenager being gunned down by a cop.

Of course they mean the voters are "too smart" and know "too much" right? Posted by: Zogger at December 05, 2018 12:45 PM (SKahJ) 468

Posted by: SMOD at December 05, 2018 12:41 PM (QkjLD) --- After they were told that their artificial islands didn't merit consideration as real islands having territorial waters, they are now using the tack that it would be a courtesy among equals to at least notify them ahead of time to avoid any unfortunate conflicts. "Democratic Senator Mazie Hirono says Democrats have a hard time "connecting" with voters because of how "smart" they are and because they "know so much."" She's the resident genius of the Senate who had no clue how illegal aliens came to be called "illegal", IIRC. "What laws have they broken?", I believe she asked. I don't read this blog as often as I'd like, and I comment even less, but I wanted to give ace a shout-out for something I didn't know existed until today:
Ace, I've read before that you're not a particularly religious person, but I wanted to thank you for allowing the prayer list on your blog. I think it's a great idea, as the moron horde is by and large a great community of... whatever we are (p.s. pass the Val-U-Rite Vodka), and so I think this is very cool that you allow this on your blog. So thanks, ace! Peace, Naq Posted by: Naqamel at December 05, 2018 01:15 PM (ZOogM) 475
Yes Rigg and Mirren. Really captures the mood of a weekend in the English countryside riding around in your English roadster and stopping off for pints at the local that I never had.

While all of the publications that The Gorilla mentions are instruments of evil, most are aimed at adults, who have already eaten the apple. TEEN VOGUE is the worst, because it corrupts the young. Its editors should be tossed into the sea with a millstone 'round their necks.

I don't think Diana ever got naked on film, though there are some scenes from the black-and-white Avengers days (see "Honey for the Prince") where she came sorta close.
Is that the one where Emma is doing tge dance if the seven veils for an Arab princeling? Six veils coke floating in from off camera, music stops, prince looks disappointed, John says, "We never could teach her how to count." Scene Posted by: Fox2! at December 05, 2018 02:06 PM (2pVFZ) 480
