And Now: NPR Adds a Huge "Clarification" To Article, But Does Not Retract It Or Admit The Central Claim It Made Is Entirely False

As opposed to every other political player. And by political player, I definitely mean the partisan media.

So you've probably heard the media's latest shriek, that Donald Trump Jr. denied the Trump organization was pursuing any deals in Russia in 2015 and 2016, while Michael Cohen says they were pursuing one in 2016.

Well, they are either incompetent or lying -- and as it turns out, both.

In the transcript, Donald Trump Jr. says early on that the Trump organization was pursuing a tower project in Moscow in 2015 and 2016. This project was the Agalarov project.

Much later, he's asked about a different project, the Sater deal. That deal he says ended in 2014, and did not continue into 2015 and 2016.

NPR's "reporter" Phil Ewing, who should be fired for gross incompetence, confuses the two deals and doesn't even seem aware that there were two deals being discussed.

Which is especially weird, as Mollie Hemingway points out:

As is obvious from the context, the quotes Ewing used weren't about the Cohen efforts, but the Agalarov efforts.
What makes Ewing's error so surprising is that the very next two lines make abundantly clear that the discussion is not about the Cohen efforts but the Agalarov efforts. Here's a brief exchange with Trump’s attorney:

Q. How did that deal first come about?
MR. FUTERFAS: Which, just for clarification?
MR. PRIVOR: The Agalarovs in 2014.
Despite this being an obvious error by NPR, the media outlet has failed to correct it even hours after it was first published.

Just two lines after the lines Ewing quotes, there is an exchange making it plain to the world that the Senate questioners are asking about two different deals, and even they have to clarify from time to time which is being discussed.

Did this cause Phil Ewing to say, "Wait, there's two deals being discussed here, I should actually read this thing instead of going by what some idiots said on Twitter?"

Apparently not. As we are forced to pay for NPR, it is definitely "government work," and I guess it's incompetent employees live the motto "good enough for government work" to the fullest.

Schindler claims to be, like his fat friend Tom Nichols, a super-smart Expert on Russia and intelligence analysis, but I can't help noticing he makes extremely sloppy mistakes that always run in ~~Fusion GPS's favor~~ the direction of his preconceived narrative.

Shouldn't a super-expert intelligence analyst Read the Fucking Documents before making wild claims on Twitter? Shouldn't he... verify his claims?

And this makes it all the funnier: Schindler recently denigrated Mollie's analytical abilities in relation to his own:

I especially like "John Schindler, who presents himself as an expert on these matters..."

Why, yes, I have worked counterintelligence against Russia for the US IC. Just like Mollie.

Really, John? Yeah, that Mollie. She doesn't know anything about analyzing data, except that maybe you should actually read the data before declaring that your religious dogmas have all been confirmed by it.

Now comes NPR to admit that Mollie and other critics were right, and that its own reporter was wrong, although they don't say that of course.

They spend a lot of words to avoid declaring the truth:

"THE CENTRAL CLAIM MADE BY THIS ARTICLE IS COMPLETELY WRONG DUE TO OUR 'REPORTER' NOT BOTHERING TO READ ANYTHING BUT A COUPLE OF LINES OF THE TRANSCRIPT."

NPR claims other things in the article are right, though.

Like the date, for example.

And Schindler?

Why don't you get off Twitter a little more each day and maybe read an original document, or at least give it a quick once-over.

It's really enlightening to see IC "professionals" bragging about their IC expertise while doing shoddy barely-skimmed-Twitter work and being wrong at nearly every turn.

It is all in the timing. A month or so ago, Trump said he was going to release the FISA documents requested by Congress, but then went silent.

The reality was that you can only use the legal equivalent of a nuke bomb once for maximum effect. That is what these documents represent. With the Demos openly coming after his family now, he pulled it back to keep his powder dry for now, so to speak. Let the Demos make the first move in the new Congress.

As noted above, the SDNY is the Southern District of New York and is Federal and is also renown for being the place that has the most ludicrously politically active and glory hogging US Attorneys running it and, yes, I am utterly including Giuliani in that.

That's the position that Preet Bharara was in when he refused to tender his resignation.

There was a phase where my now ex-wife and I were in a grey area, we'd been apart and together a bunch. I was trying to show something of long term love, so I created a photo album of pictures from over the years and called it "One Woman, Twenty Years".

And I mean I had 8x10s made of the colour ones and printed my own B&W. Now, I'm actually a good photographer. And each of these pictures was taken to make her look good. Very little clothing interfered with her looking good.

She looked at it, said "they're good pictures, but all I see are the flaws".

That there is woman.

I think that 99% of the time when a pretty girl says she's ugly she is either lying to be humble (or trolling for compliments) or is dealing with severe, awful psychological issues and misery that is hidden by her pretty face. Some women just honestly don't see themselves as pretty, but its really rare.

The worst thing women do to their boyfriend/husband is probably not intentional but they can't seem to help themselves. "do you think she's pretty?"

Yes, she's pretty, what a stupid question. You wouldn't have brought that up if she was not. Nobody points to Trigglypuff and says "do you think she's pretty" its always someone that the girl feels kind of intimidated by or jealous of.

And there's no real good answer to that. I know, sometimes its a test: how will he react? Does he lust after her? But most of the time its just a kick in the guy's nads.

She had to lose a lot of weight, decided to do something about it, did the thing about it, and apparently stuck to the eating small amounts which is still difficult even after the surgery.
