I almost did my Master's on Pre-historic art. (Looking back, I should have tho.) The complexity of cave paintings alone convinced me that the artists were no primitives. The cave paintings are carefully planned and executed. They designed and built scaffolding to paint them. you can see how a thing like Asset Forfeiture without a conviction directly violates that clause, no matter what level of government does it.

Yeah, sometimes my brain picks up noises and integrates them into the dream. The wife had the tv on in 'her side' of the bedroom. Dogs were barking. Repeatedly, wouldn't shut up. In my dream I'm carrying a pick-ax and a step stool in my hands in order to get some network cable down from a shelf. Only things handy. As I'm walking along the dogs started biting me and I stabbed 'em with the pick ax.

I'm sure there are some good ones, but it's been my experience that their business operates on making sure you come back.

Consider finding a local occupational therapy business and working with a physical therapist to learn some exercises to become stronger and prevent it in the future. I'd imagine about one chiropracter visit would pay for it, too.

You bring up a point which may be more applicable to our current situation than you realize. In the years running up to the (first) Civil War, the pro-slavery forces began to use the law in ways they should not have been allowed to, which of course inspired a backlash from their opponents, which led to increasing waves of anger and violence which eventually resulted in open conflict and war. And finally, large parts of the Constitution itself were completely re-written by the victors 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments. The old Constitution died, a New Constitution (very similar, but not the same) took it's place.

We look to be on a similar trajectory today.

I second that. I wear two of them around my middle. Part of my issue is strictly muscular and cold temps cause my muscles to cramp. Hurts like a summa bitch when it happens. Almost incapacitating.

Hasn't happened once since I went to these velcro adhering braces. Side benefit is they're waist reducing over time. They sort of limit range of motion so you really can't engage in any bad twisting motions.

My very point is that they were doing it before the 14th anyways. The 14th can't be the cause of the fugitive slave law since it didn't exist yet. Ergo gross federal overreach exists regardless. The federal government or any other government doesn't need legal technicalities to justify itself, nor in the case of objectionable behavior is legality a defense for the government(see France riots).

Prior to the 14th you had to worry about politics in other states. After the 14th you still have to worry about it.

There are always chiropractic believers nearby. I accept their testimony, which seems to be, "I got better!"

No doubt that is as true as it is for those who don't go to a chiropractor.

I have known people who regard their chiropractor as their primary physician. Got the flu? Off for an 'adjustment'. Your child having abdominal pains? Off to the chiropractor.

I always ask chiropractic fans if there is an 'adjustment' for hemorrhoids.

On the couple of occasions in my youth when I had a go at it, the most amusing 'therapy' was the little spring-loaded hicky that the guy would kind of randomly punch around on my back.

To each his own. It might be worth searching something like 'Died Chiropractor' to read about people who died while/after having their neck 'adjusted'.

A good point I've seen raised is that then, as now, most of humanity would have lived in close proximity to the Sea - at least within a few miles of it. (it's a constant source of food, for one thing) It's hard to imagine how different the world would have looked during the last Ice Age - one long plain connected what is now Great Britain to France, for example. (those maps are fun) When sea levels rose by 400 feet after the ice age ended, almost all evidence of any previous human activity would have been wiped out, except for those few groups that lived high away, up in the hills.

(probably would have left the survivors talking about Great Floods and lost cities, like Atlantis)

When I was a kid we had a garage/shed. I dreamed that a mouse was infesting that shed, but had been trapped in a blue bag. I went in to collect the mouse, but saw lots of other mice scurrying around. One running on the workbench, then a mother and a brood of mice on a shelf, others running through a duct on the ceiling, etc. There was a freestanding shelf with a baby on one of the shelves. The mice climbed to its shelf and were crawling over it. I started pulling them off, and as they were clawing me I thought "clearly the trap was inadequate, we must come up with another way. And I need to get this baby out of here".

I've no idea what the baby thing was about.

I always ask chiropractic fans if there is an 'adjustment' for hemorrhoids.

On the couple of occasions in my youth when I had a go at it, the most amusing 'therapy' was the little spring-loaded hicky that the guy would kind of randomly punch around on my back.

To each his own. It might be worth searching something like 'Died Chiropractor' to read about people who died while/after having their neck 'adjusted'. "

My wife is one who goes to far in believing in Chiropractic for everything, I think. BUT - I have seen a local chiro who is very good at joints and muscles, and I credit him completely with saving me from the knee replacement surgery an orthopedist would have recommended. After a pulled quad, I had gotten to where I needed crutches, but am now completely recovered, with no surgery. So, they have their uses.

Has anyone ever been referred to one after hurting their back or having knee surgery? Again, I have no problem with them, but like I said, I just don't know anyone who has ever been able to stop going to one because something was "fixed."

I know lots of people who were hurt, went to physical therapy, and then no longer needed to.

I hate that straight-ticket option. It's lazy, and I don't trust the elections assholes to properly log the votes.

Plus, I wouldn't have had the pleasure of voting against another Bush spawn, after having lived through Dubya pissing my votes for him away.

One nice thing with Texas ballots is that everything is partisan. You get a definite party identification, unlike in CA where anything other than Fed and State legislature candidates leave you having to do a shitload of research before voting just to figure out their party affiliation.

Willow, I've hated the holidays -- for myself -- for 25 years. Biggest heartbreak of my life on Christmas Day. And three years ago, my mom passed away the day after Christmas.

I don't have too much trouble until I get to Romans. Romans is laid out like a court case. So what I do is go to BibleGateway and select from their cornucopia of translations, going from paraphrase (The Message) to hardcore (Holman). Somewhere in between I'll get the gist of it.

I had a great dream recently.
I would be running along somewhere and I found that if I jumped to cross a stream I could will myself to coast longer in the air than normal, as long as I held the jump position. I could even turn a little bit and circle other people. Pretty cool... and then I woke up.

I don't know about the economy, but I have a couple hundred foot long driveway, then the pathway to the front door is another hundred foot walk, then the return trip another hundred foot, then drive a couple hundred feet back to the street. Neither UPS or Amazon ever took the time or effort to place packages directly at my front door.

Suddenly, they have the time to do that.

470 I almost did my Master's on Pre-historic art. (Looking back, I should have tho.) The complexity of cave paintings alone convinced me that the artists were no primitives. The cave paintings are carefully planned and executed. They designed and built scaffolding to paint them. They even took into account the sound effects and echos within the individual cave chambers to dictate the subject matter and its composition. These people were highly intelligent, just limited by their circumstances.

The 30 Masterpieces of the Ancient World series from the Great Courses is good and, yup, there is no way that the pre-history societies that made these were composed of people who grunted at each other.


One of the main reasons I love Ancient Aliens as much as I do is that it is a travelogue to places with all kinds of ancient monoliths and art and architecture that I did not know about. Ignore the it's totally aliens stuff and just watch and learn about these amazing places.
