Sometimes I realize where Trump comes from on some issues. He was running a successful business in the 70's and 80's and he knew the effect of drug use in the workplace. The shit was fvcking rampant back then. Probably lost a bunch of employees, workplace accidents, the whole nine yards.

I lost a BIL who was in construction to cocaine. Blew his own brains out.

There is no "dealing with it."

I work with a lot of people that are one generation removed from the FSA. Msss Abrams was the perfect candidate for the FSA in Ga. A big woman. "She looks just like me. She is me. She's down for the struggle. She's gonna get me a bigger check. She ain't no racist white man."

Maybe maybe the children of my employees. Maybe. Not likely.

And those few that didn't vote for her would never admit it to their peeps.

Trump is unique. However, if the Dems run someone like Msss Abrams, they'll vote for her. See also Barky.

tl;dr

Doomed.

I did all my peripheral shopping last night at Wegmans, thinking I was getting a leg up, but it was already a madhouse.

My usual T-Day jam is a big raucous gathering at my friends' house, but there's been a family emergency so that's out. I'm kind of looking forward to a quiet Thanksgiving.

I did too; it pretty much set the tone for everything NBC sports did subsequently.

Last like Levin commented on how the hive mind of the MFM gleefully and universally describes the black robed tyrant mangling the Constitution to accommodate Desi Acosta as a Trump appointee. While technically true, judges at that level are usually nominated by the Senators, including blue staters, and if the nominee isn't a notorious jackhole gets rubber stamped by the President. It's the higher level judges that are nominated by the President.

I can't eat anyone else's turkey anymore. The absolute secret to taking the 'gaminess' out of the bird is a cup of white wine and a cup of water in the bottom of your pot. I use an Aussie Riesling. It takes the flavor into the sweetness range from a neutral or negative.

Some people do the same thing by drowning their turkey in gravy. I prefer my slice of turkey dry, but moist.

American President Kills American Citizen in Foreign Land

Obama directed the CIA to assassinate an American citizen in Yemen, Anwar al-Awlaki, despite the fact that he had never been charged with (let alone convicted of) any crime, and the agency successfully carried out that order a year later with a September 2011 drone strike.

263 Hogmartin, do you spatchcock your turkey? Meathead showed that on your link.
Posted by: clutch at November 17, 2018 08:21 AM (kiSdp)

We did not, an' I'll tell you for why: we used one of those 'bullet' smokers that's basically a Weber grill that's a cylinder three feet deep. So it's pretty narrow on the top. We found the best way to fit the turkey in there was to keep it intact but prop it so some smoke could get pass through the cavity, and that if we spatchcocked it it would be too wide to fit the whole thing on the grill and still close the lid. If your BGE has a wide enough surface, spatchcocking is probably better.

Later I replaced the bullet type with the sideways barrel type with the smokebox on one end and the flue on the other, replacing the worst kind of smoker with the second worst kind, because sometimes I just compound bad decisions around here.

265 It is unacceptable to have over 11 million people living illegally in America. But mass deportation is unacceptable too both morally and logistically.

It is unacceptable to have over 11 million rapist living illegally in America. But rounding them up is unacceptable too both morally and logistically.

It is unacceptable to have over 11 million tax cheats living illegally in America. But jailing hard workers is unacceptable too both morally and logistically.

It is unacceptable to have over 11 million driving illegally in America. But vehicle checks are unacceptable too both morally and logistically.

Funny how one crime gets looked over. Imagine a politician saying those words for any other crime!

I've never been a fan of Rod Stewart, but when talking about his knighthood, he has said that he's not equipped to actually defend his country and that he's a bit embarrassed by the title. Defending the country is a job for actual soldiers, to whom he extends respect and gratitude.

yeah, and it is 25 to 35 million. Ryan and company may try again to jam something through before their lame duck expires, on "comprehensive immigration reform" ... which has always meant a path to citizenship, no border control improvement. And that equals total Democrat/commie control in 20 years.

They just refuse to do the will of the people, which would be limited merit based LEGAL immigration. Deporting the illegals is less popular, but imo only because of the giant propaganda machines hiding the real costs.

296 Couple of things from the recent election.

1. In Colorado 95% of the voters voted by mail, only 5% voted in person. (only 121,000)

2. In Colorado, party affiliation of people who voted breaks down thusly:

Democrat - 32%
Republican - 33%
Unaffiliated - 34%

And most of the statewide races were 7 to 10 percentage point Dem wins.

?Younger unaffiliated voters breaking Dem?

That is kind of interesting because the nationwide average is (top of head) around 25% (D) and 23% (R). So Colorado over-performs in both (R) and (D) voting with a slightly higher (R) over-performance.

Looks like more then a few (R)'s are turncoats.
