1st Amendment For Me, But Not For Thee...

This reminds me, obliquely, of Anatole France's famous quotation:

The law, in its majestic equality, forbids rich and poor alike to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal their bread.
When the elites live behind fences and guarded gates, and walk amongst us only when protected by police or private security (armed of course) or a complian judiciary, the laws mean very little to them. Hillary can have her personal Praetorians control the world around her, without respect for the Constitution, or for that matter most other laws.

Normals are at risk every time we express our political opinions, because the full weight of the lawless left will fall upon us, dispatched by the very people whose right to speak is protected by government or those very same thugs masquerading as "anti-fascists."

I never initiate political discussions -- it's always the lefties -- but a calm, measured response such as a slap across the face with one's motoring gloves, or a clean slice with the cane-rapier, establishes a dialog. Just admit that they have only one principle - takeover, and by that principle, Acosta is entitled to misbehave at press conferences and has a right to attend nevertheless. Also, Hillary has the right to deprive reporters of their right to speak.

49 Now I'm gonna be That Guy here. Again.

Loomer was ejected from an event, and so was Acosta. So much the same. But the suit wasn't about the ejection, it was about the removal of him from the press pool. The judge didn't rule that someone couldn't be ejected, only that they had to get a procedure to alert them of being removed from the pool beyond a tweet and being told by the Moose Out Front.

So the argument really is more about employment and losing a position rather than speech. Its a spurious argument, but that's the distinction here.

Seriously. I could easily imagine a cabal of leftist billionaires - it appears that there is no other type - buying up the books and warehousing them, thereby giving Mooch money (legally) and building some momentum for her politically.

Then later, after generating the requisite publicity, they sell the books off, recouping the money they fronted.

I strongly suspect that that's EXACTLY what they did with Obama's poxy book. Remember when conservatives were talking about Obama eating a dog, and liberal reporters - again, is there any other kind? - were howling about that as a nasty canard? Obviously none of them had read Obama's book, and if THEY couldn't be bothered ...

The same considerations apply a forteriori to Mooch's "book." Who the hell would be interested in reading her spew (or, more accurate, her ghostwriter's spew)? Even those stupid broads on The View can't be bothered, I would venture to guess.

This is all stupid.

The White House doesn't pay Accoster, therefore is not his employer. If getting kicked out of the press pool affects his employment that is his and CNN's problem.
Accoster behaved in a threatening manner. He doesn't like Tweets? Fuck him. He's lucky the Secret Service didn't drag his ass into a room for interrogation. Next time the President should have "You're Fired!" painted on a rock and thrown at the uncooperative reporter.

The Judicial Branch does not get to decide who the Executive branch can kick out of the White House.

In the late 1770s, a bunch of American farmers (to be fair there were other trades represented as well) took up arms and made the territory they lived in a no go zone for the servants of the king that trampled their rights.

Note that they did not march/sail all the way back to Britain and try to wrest control of the entire empire (that eventually withered and died on its own). They just said 'We and our lands are no longer subject to you and your decrees.' And defended the proposition with sufficient force to make it stick.

Twice, technically.

This.

Note the CAGW crowd has never, not once, produced a falsifiable prediction. The closest they come is to say that their models WOULD have predicted the past climate. Which, of course, is risible, since their models were parameterized from the past climate. All they have done is confirm that they did the parameterization correctly to reproduce the data from which the parameterization originated.

So ... no points.
