I'm the same way now! I've been eating high fat / protein, and super low carb for six months or so (not really on purpose, just kind of gravitated towards foods that are more filling and I like to eat instead of just empty calories.)

I had a quesadilla with chips at a Mexican restaurant with some friends recently, and felt lethargic and shitty almost as soon as I ate it, then had a carb hang over for like two days.

A few weeks ago, I had a couple of slices of pizza, same outcome.

Weirdly, beer doesn't seem to bother me.

Looks like the style sheet doesn't load properly if you access the site via HTTPS instead of HTTP. Same goes for eternal JavaScript references.

Apple's Safari browser is now defaulting to HTTPS in newer versions, and it won't load some of external references that are linked via HTTP not HTTPS.

Images, sure, but most everything else is ignored. Feature, not a bug for security reasons.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned elsewhere.

Got any?
Posted by: Comrade at November 12, 2018 12:44 PM (uhOqd)

Well, you're certainly right. Which is why I think reasonable people should agree that we should set up voting systems in such a way as to be able to detect fraud. Maybe follow the Connecticut system -- you need a CT-issued ID to register (address and name much match exactly), and that ID to vote. Voter rolls are purged with amazing accuracy -- if you move to the neighboring town, you get a letter in the mail within weeks telling you that you need to re-register at your new address. Everyone votes on the same day (other than absentee ballots, issued only for legitimate purposes). As registered voters show up, their names are checked off a list. That final list is cross-checked throughout the state to ensure no one double voted. Ballots have strict chain of custody requirements. It makes it easy to detect fraud in such a system, which is why there is usually very little of it in CT.

On the other hand, many of the more "swing"-type states have systems in place where there is no verification of where you live, who you are, or if you are registered in multiple places.

Ballots are also seemingly left outside of a normal chain of custody with some regularity.

Since there aren't such strict checks-and-balances in many of these states, it becomes almost impossible to ever PROVE (in a criminal "beyond a reasonable doubt" sense) that voter fraud occurred.

Thus, the problem.

But again, no one wants voter fraud, right? So why not have a bipartisan effort across the country to ensure all votes are counted accurately and fairly -- our rallying cry should be to "Follow the Connecticut model!"

148 I thought a lot this weekend about things to do to fight back and thought of an idea regarding Hollywood. I tried sharing this on Reddit and 4chan it got removed on both.Let
me share a bit more detail here. I loved film and entertainment. I
mean LOVED it. But over time, the art form just stopped being fun
because I could not stop associating what I was watching with who these
people are in real life. Anti-borders while living behind security
fences. Demanding we take the poor but consigning them to underpasses
where they accost you and I.Looking at Netflix. One show called Sabrina. Not 15 minutes in I hear shit
about men. I look at the preview for House of Cards because my friend
watched it and said it was awful. First thing I hear - The era of old
white men is over.
So, over this weekend I have
cancelled Hulu and Netflix and choosing to become involved. I have sold
what existing physical media I had (why burn it when you can sell it
and fatten your wallet- you could even donate the proceeds to Trump
2020) and I am currently working on letting them know why and why I will
never return as a customer.I have been
trying to think of ways to trigger them and came up with an idea. Since
I am new at this, I want opinions on my ideas. Whether they are any
good or if they suck.I was thinking of starting a petition on whitehouse.gov and framing it as such:We
urge the President to redirect DOJ resources to combatting illegal
immigration and voter fraud that is becoming more and more blatant as
time goes on. This will require additional funding. We
request that if Congress does not appropriate these funds then they
must be redirected from within the agency. We demand that the first
place these funds come from will be money used to enforce copyright
infringement on behalf of the RIAA and MPAA.These
organizations are at the forefront of advocacy of illegal immigration
and advocacy of non citizens being registered to vote and demanding
their votes be counted at the expense of Americans. If
these groups object, it must be pointed out that our lives are not
worth more than their money. And as they also advocated with Obama (to
the tune of millions in donations) "At some point you've made enough
money."Clearly this would not happen,
but it could get media attention if it reached enough signatures. It could start to plant the seeds in boardrooms that their customer
base is openly stating that if the laws are not to be followed to
protect us, turnabout is fair play. They need us to go to movie
theaters and buying iTunes and depend on law enforcement more than
ever. Either they learn that the law matters or we punch them in the balls.

A little from column A, a little from column B.

We here in Missoura had to absorb 6 years of blame for the Rapin' Akin v. Clear McCrackwhore fiasco.

The correct answer is: Voters be dum and Rapin' Akin and his rape fairies, also dum.

Dum Dum all around.

So suck on it, Arizona. You'll have 6 years to figure out how to right your wrong.

But unlike Arizona, we here in Mizurree were never so dum as to send Flake and McLame to Washington.

Surely they can't accused CT's system in a deep blue, very diverse state of being racist or unreasonable, right?

Everything CT does regarding voting seems reasonable and fair.

I'd like to see an argument as to why this system works in CT, but cannot be implemented in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, etc.

Bingo. Broward County being a clusterf#$@ every election is gaslighting.

Now when they pull their crap on Scott and DeSantis the Left/MSM just shrug and say. "Hey, it's just Florida. Roll with it, whineypants!"

They have huge voter rolls (e.g. LA county has 144% voting age residents registered to vote), no voter ID, dysfunctional processing so that when they need to finesse a close election they have OPTIONs and well as the cover of "it's always like this."

Right.

Well, the truth of the matter is that these processes were mostly implemented back in the '70s and '80s when CT was run by Republicans.

But the left has gone along with it and never had an issue with it because there's rarely a reason to cheat. (and they still do find ballots in the trunk in Bridgeport from time to time in governor races and whatnot).

But from a national election standpoint, CT is safe blue.

But it just goes to show you -- all the arguments about people being disenfranchised, etc. are bullshit. People in CT manage to get out and vote and follow the rules. No one thinks the state of CT is being horrific and racist by requiring ID's to vote.

258 It amazes me how two traditional patterns of voting continue to remain true despite current events: the party in the WH loses in the midterms, and all politics are local.

Meaning, despite Tester and Manchin being a traitorous fecal fuck of humanity, the voters reelected them because native sons, and despite democrats going violently insane and record economic numbers, we still had to endure losses in the midterms.

On the upside the same history that fucked us over here should favor Trump in 2020.

Well we don't have to go that far. CT manages to have incredibly accurate and timely records based on DMV information and they must have some kind of access to other states voter rolls, because in college I registered to vote in another state, and CT sent me a letter at my new registered address within a week telling me I was off their rolls.

I don't know the mechanics of how it works exactly, but CT has incredibly accurate records of where you live and are registered to vote. and if CT can do it, I don't see why every other state can't.

The technology certainly exists and should be trivially easy to implement in 2018.

The Reds always argue that it'll be "disenfranchising" to remove people who are dead, non-voters, moved away or registered elsewhere as there may be no way to notify them that they've been purged. The only reason I think it would be problematic is that there are local elections pretty regularly. I rarely vote in them, but I feel like it's an annual thing. Plus congressional records every 2 years.

So it would be a bit of a logistical headache to purge the rolls after each election then have to re-register (I want to say that in CT, you need to register at least 14 days before the election -- no same day registration).

Posted by: MAGA at November 12, 2018 01:16 PM (AN0/P)

You really have to admire the ascent of the whole "disparate impact" bullshit. The lefties wanted to frame anti-white laws - and did - but they were struck down by some saner courts of yesteryear, so the left reformulated their laws and procedures to not mention race but to only impact the races they were targeting. Then, after they have been wildly successful with those techniques they turn around and create this asinine idea of "disparate impact" in order to shut down laws they don't like that are perfectly fine laws but injure their constituents and pets disproportionately (just like math does).

How the left managed to get this crap taken seriously is infuriating. How they get this theory to be selectively applied to laws they don't like is beyond infuriating. The only ones who ever fashioned laws, specifically to have disparate impact, are the left, really.

And we have the Queen of Disparate Impact bullshit sitting on the SCOTUS. Yay!! Put there as an affront to over three millenia of the basic foundation of Western jurisprudence (from the Torah - Exodus 23:3 "neither shall you favor a poor man in his cause") because ... empathy has now been accepted as a legitimate main criterion for a judge or judgment.

Sheesh.

Bill James, the baseball writer, talks about this, calls it the boomerang effect, that applies to individuals and teams.

In other words, you take a guy whose career has been fairly consistent, and you have him have a breakout season, that's over and above his career norms.

What happens the following year? He boomerangs back to about where he was. Happens so often, it's kinda bizarre how consistently it occurs.

Same with guys who have unusually bad seasons. The next year (provided they're not too old), they bounce back to their normal selves.

Teams do that too. You take a team that hovers around .500 for a few years, then have them shoot up to being contenders the next, or you have contenders who have great years, and the following year, their records are pulled like a magnet back toward .500.

Elections seem to be like that. It's almost like math is a thing, or something.

312 Some of the Sinema ads that were running here in southern AZ:

-- a hispanic woman, in heavily Spanish-accented English, says that she's working 3 jobs and still can't afford health care for her family, and this time she's voting for someone who will help her with her and her family's needs

-- a woman says that McSally voted in congress to keep health insurers from being required to cover pre-existing conditions, which proves that "McSally doesn't care about us!!"

I don't know if the AZ Mormons were voting for Sinema, but you can be sure the "gimme dat" hordes were. Sinema won't vote for military spending or border security, but she'll vote for every welfare increase and government handout in sight.

320 I'm okay with legit absentee ballots (ie: on deployment, or on a business trip, or for some legit reason out of the state on election day. Or too infirm or sick to get to the polls, that's fine.) But that should be a very small number of people.
Posted by: Harry Paratestes
.........

The reason the public pushed for mail-in is that a lot of states cut way back on the number of polling places.

Arizona and Florida in particular.

I don't know who (which party) or what was the reasoning behind that was.. but 2014 & 2016 saw lines a mile long at some places.

I have never waited more than 5 minutes to vote in my entire life both in urban Chicago and out here in the burbs.

If you are going to insist on people voting on election day only, you have to be willing to fund and staff the polling places.

YES

Colorado went 100% mail-in in 2014 and there were already fraud schemes up and running: activist organizations caught sending people out to find undelivered ballots to scoop them up and fill them out. I don't recall the exact statistic, but the % of people who move within 2 years is significant enough that mis-mailed ballots can be easily used to turn a somewhat close election And that's not even counting what happens when you get people at the PO assisting you (setting aside undelivered ballots and/or not processing return ballots from certain neighborhoods.

In Colorado, there was the option of returning your ballot to a drop-off box so that it did not go through the US mail.

The vast majority of Americans do not want personal liberty for everyone while retaining workable levels of varying local government - in the form of The Republic. The vast majority wants to impose their own personal economic, social, political, and moral will via the ballot box.

The problem isn't who is on the rolls.. It's who is voting for real people. "provisional ballots" are being left in boxes everywhere because they aren't important (to the Dems) in the recounts.

These ballots are evidence of the fraudulent votes turned in during open voting periods and then real people show up and are told, "you already voted". Happening everywhere. Since when are Dems more motivated to vote in a midterm election?

"Everybody does/says dumb shit when they're young." Yeah, she wasn't really that young, but in the age of the 26-year-old-parent's-insurance-tag-alongs she was young. Acting mature and charismatic in this election minimizes a lot of stupid shit she did before. Also, we're talking about AZ, which has had McCain and Flake as senators for years... it's obvious AZ is ok with some lefty positions as long as their senators bring home free shit.

Posted by: MSM is the Deep States Mentally Ill Girlffriend at November 12, 2018 01:49 PM (+om3e)

423 If you look at the splits in AZ governor's race--Ducey won reelection handily versus McSally, it is clear that a large number of voters went for leftoid identity politics candidate in the Senate but rejected a similar candidate for governor. Same dynamic in Texas--Abbott ruled which Cruz nearly lost against the fake Hispandered leftoid.

My hypothesis in part was the whole preexisting conditions campaign that the Democrats ran. Made old folks and other middle class and upper class afraid of having their own health insurance in question. It has been effective and many small business owners in the individual market might have voted D on this issue.

Republican House members and maybe Senate candidate members in true blue states were also damaged by the new rules on deducting state and local taxes. Might have driven some losses in California and NY state among others.

Something else might also be going on in AZ, as the LDS hierarchy is pro-immigration and LDS voters are often influenced by the Church at election time. So, the rejection of Flake who was LDS for McSally who apparently isn't, might have caused some members or the church hierarchy to torpedo McSally.

There was also the risk of undervotes by those po'd at the rejection of Ward or Arpaio. There, in places like Maricopa, there might have been a concerted effort to "help the voter" by filling in blanks.

This type of fraud can be hard to detect in large masses (requires analyzing ballot through inks, writing impressions, etc.). That was what was apparently going on in FLA along with ballot discarding, revoting "damaged" ballots through constructive recreation, etc.

On the whole, people forget that paper ballots are much more amenable to fraud at the local level while electronic voting fraud is more likely at the higher end of the scale. Simple discard a ballot in the counting room and shred it, no proof that the person ever voted. Alter blank ballots in the names of registered voters, recreate damaged ballots, etc. Walking around money to GOTV also results in paid voters. Read old Carter Center reports on monitoring elections in the Third World for how to do it and how to catch it.

Hacking ballot systems is usually above most local officials pay grades but also possible.

Problem is that with no real consequences for the theft or illegal voting, and massive incentive to do so along with corrupt officials/voters, elections continue to be stolen until everyone assumes that the government is crooked anyway and withdraw from participation.

The rare counterexamples such as Jimmy Carter and former Justice Stevens occurs when they themselves are confronted with the fraud and had their noses rubbed in it. Carter during a state senate race written about in Turning Point and Stevens in a commission to clean up Chicago voting which has pretty much always been corrupt and eventually corrupted the whole state.

Republicans, in their blind ways today, focus on "policy" when the real answer is focus on the "electorate" and adopt whatever policy pleases the most voters. Folks getting gimmes are rarely going to kick about fraudulent elections (see Illinois under the uni-party).

It is when the money runs out, that people suddenly realize that their government has been stolen out from under them and most "rights" are honored in the breach (see Venezuela or Nicaragua for example). For example, the whole Medicare for all will be a death sentence similar to the NHS for the elderly for the new country's demographics. New immigrants are scarcely going to care about old folks not related to them. Same thing for taxes, crime, etc.
Politics will dictate the old who gets what and from whom story until there is nothing left in the till.

That is when things get interesting when viewed after the fact from a distance in time by historians. Over, and over, and over again.

BTW, when and if the Dems bring up gerrymandering--simple reply that both California, Massachusetts, and NY state need to be redistricted to reflect the percentage of Republican votes and they should shut up. The Republicans should have about maybe 20 seats out of 50 some odd and about 10-12 House seats in NY and at least one to two seats in Mass by that yardstick if you go by the vote. That is close to that needed to reflip the House.

Next election ... pick the Top Five Blue Precincts, I assume they will be Democrat Cities ... and just fucking order the City Police to be in the area and obey the Dem Election Chairman. Inform the Chairman to subtly influence the vote.

Shit like no cameras or cellphones - match ids to voter roll at door - divert Registered R voters to different voting machines or ballot boxes. Usher out anyone that objects.

Then ... when that works ... expand to Twenty Precincts next time. The GOP will meekly protest - the Media will embargo it - and Dems will suffer no consequences.

The LDS leadership is not pro-immigration. They are pro-sending-missionaries-down-south-and-baptising-Latinos. That does not equate to bringing them all back here.
Also, LDS members are not influenced by the leadership the way you are implying. The LDS church does not allow politicking inside the church building. You will not hear political stuff at the pulpit in a Mormon church.

But when a judge tells Florida to honor election law and release the totals, et cetera, we are supposed to ignore that judge. You know, judges-what judges? Hey sometimes the law is wrong and we must fight the power and all that.

510 If pollyticks be downhill from culture or whatever, I think with the demise of Stan Lee, he deserves his own post. For good or ill, or both, his work really had an impact on the world.

Milady and I and the kids were walking out a door of the Chicago Comicon just as Stan was walking in. They were all Marvel fans like Dad by then. (Classic Ditko Spider-Man was bedtime reading.)

Although he was heading in to some meeting, he seemed in no hurry and we just stood there and chatted like he had nothing else to do. I'm sure I acted like a starry-eyed fanboy. Mostly, I was glad our kids got to meet him.

Amazing Fantasy #15 (Spider-Man's first appearance) changed my life, or at least my perception of comics.

Lee's first writing was providing filler text in Captain America Comics (1941) #3.

535 I love how the left is running around twitter today condemning Republican criticism of election stealing as "undermining elections". Sometimes, just for total irony-meter short circuiting, the same lefty tweets throw in a reference to Putin dominating the 2016 election. It's fucking unbelievable, but there you are.

536 221 I am looking in to how to get an CO constitutional amendment on the ballot. I'd like to get my "purge all voting rolls every four years and everyone re-registers" idea on there. It will never pass, of course, but I'd like to go on the news while everyone calls me a racist.

The flopping around in Florida just made it obvious. Here in Colorado, our new governor, has put his millions to work in spiking elections for over a decade. It's as if he's decided, "Why do we need to win in the marketplace of ideas when I can just vote for them?"

Ink on the finger the day of the election shows you voted. Zero provisional ballots. Zero fake elections..

537 Footage has been heavily edited. J. Accoster couldn't punch a chad out of Florida ballot.
