Will CNN, Which Has Repeatedly Defended/Justified Antifa Violence and Refused to Call Antifa Mobs "Mobs," "Claim Any Responsbility" for the Attempted Home Invasion on Tucker Carlson's Family, as They Demanded of Trump and the Not-a-Bomb Mailer?

CNN's story is here.

Let's put this into context.

CNN is the network which featured Chris Cuomo defending antifa violence, claiming that it was a better kind of violence than the violence which might be offered by its victims. (He doesn't bother to mention that antifa is the one that starts the attacks and that there is usually zero violence offered by its victims. They're too busy bleeding from a headwound from a bicycle lock.)

CNN is the network which featured Don Lemon claiming that the mob that harassed, threatened, and chased Ted Cruz out of a restaurant were "just people who were upset," and further riotsplained that this "was not mob behavior."

NOTE: The specific group Don Lemon defended was SmashRacism, which is the same group that just attempted to smash through Tucker Carlson's door when his wife and children were in the house.

He actually defended the specific group that just attacked a journalist's home.

When Matt Lewis brought up SmashRacism -- again, the very group that just attempted a home invasion of a journalist -- and its chasing Cruz out of a restaurant, calling it mob behavior, CNN's Brooke Baldwin again defended SmashRacism, claiming it wasn't a "mob," and in fact forbidding the very word from being uttered.

So we have CNN repeatedly defending antifa's tactics, and we have them repeatedly defending the tactics of this particular sect of antifa, SmashRacism.

When the guy who sent the Not-Bombs through the mail was caught, CNN ran a big chyron: TRUMP HAS NO PLANS TO CLAIM ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR INCITING SERIAL BOMBER.

By the way: They weren't bombs. Fake News as usual.

Trump never defended this guy, supported this guy, or suggested, as Chris Cuomo did about antifa beating people up, that "not all bombs are equal," with some being more virtuous bombs than others.

But CNN demanded he "claim responsibility."

Well, here, we have a network that has repatedly defended, supported, and encouraged the very cell of antifa which is now attempting home invasions against journalists at rival networks -- will CNN claim any responsibility for excusing and encouraging their antifa allies?

No, of course not.

Not only will CNN not claim responsibility, or apologize for its previous apologism for antifa, but they'll barely cover it on their precious air.

This is the network that screams "You're threatening the media!" when people chant "CNN sucks!"

But when a violent domestic terrorist group that CNN has repeatedly supported threatens a journalist, busting through his door and chanting "We know where you sleep at night! We know how to fight!," CNN's response is... tepid.

Not hot, omnipresent, and crusading, as it was when they were oh-so-worried about a "device" which was not a bomb, determined to fix responsibility on their political opponents.

Enemy of the People.

The time is coming when the question "What will CNN say when we begin encouraging our own extremists to begin doing this to them?!" will not be a hypothetical one.

And that time is coming fast.

This regime that CNN and the rest of the hard left is trying to Will to Power into being -- that violence against the right sort of people is justified, whereas merely taking away a jackass' press pass is a violent assault on the press -- is not tolerable and will not be tolerated.

The rules you make for others are the rules you make for yourselves.

Corrected: I claimed that CNN had not covered the story at all. I had run four different searches attempting to find any story about this, using different words, like "protesters," and came up with zero stories.

However, apparently they called this group "activists," and I missed that one. "Activists." Of course.

Apologies for having failed at Googling.

Although: this story says "Updated at 12:19pm," so the problem might just be that they waited all night and all morning to post it a short time ago. I began my searches at 11:45 and finished at 11:55. This article might have just posted after.

It should be noted that this incident happened last night and most other media companies have had stories on it since early this morning, if not since last night.

Update: A search of archive.is, to find stories which have been screencapped and archived, finds no results for this story, which suggests to me that this story is in fact of a very recent vintage.

A search of the Wayback Machine also finds nothing on this story, again suggesting that the searchbots haven't had time to find it yet, which again suggests this is a very late story.

Update: It looks like Grammie Winger proves what I had suspected. She writes:

Protestors descend on Fox News host Tucker Carlson's home in DC

By Brian Stelter, CNN Business

Posted by: grammie winger at November 08, 2018 12:26

She wrote that at 12:26, and 24 minutes before that is 12:02. So yeah, when I searched, from 11:45 to just before 12, there was no story on CNN. Despite this having been news since last night. I mean, it happened at 7pm, right?

Golden confirms that:

58 Evidently CNN now has a story up (19 minutes ago) which states that "Police called after left-wing activists descend on Fox host Tucker Carlson's home".
So there is that... not that they condemn the acts mind.

98 52 36 Now for HOME defense, I can't recommend the AR-15 enough. High capacity, low recoil, ergonomic...it does have some respectable muzzle blast but you get used to that with some range practice. 5.56 58gr are less likely to over-penetrate than 9mm ball ammo.

So if zombies in black hoodies come to beat on YOUR door...you'll have good options.

But if you live in Washington State, buy one soon...before it is outlawed.

Posted by: Diogenes at November 08, 2018 12:22 PM (0tfLf)

Buy ONE? No, no, no. Buy several.

Stripped lowers are cheap. Parts kits are cheap. You can buy and build an AR-15 for under $400. Assembled ones are under $500 often.

Many options.

99 Thankfully the *only* upshot in this is that CNN's embargoes and spin matter less than effort. Even when they coordinate with their pravda peers, there is too much real-time information out there for them to control effectively.

Things like this just show them for what they are: the scum of the earth and enemies of the people.

Though we're still analyzing the devices in our Laboratory, these are not hoax devices."

And this shit isn't going to stop. And they're going to get more and more bold. And they're going, sooner rather than later, to hit people that are more than willing to hit back.

And then that will make the news. And then, it's on like a pot of neck-bones, as my old man still says.

Just how it is. No use wishing for it - or against it. Wishing don't have a damn thing to do with it.

As to women home alone, there are some BB guns that look like automatic weapons, red dot and all. Hells bells, I have some laser tools around here, even a temperature gauge that will put a red dot on someones forehead.

You don't always have to have the 'real thing' especially if you have family members uncomfortable with the real thing. Bullies need a dose of reality. That red dot on their forehead could mean nothing, or everything.

205 Though we're still analyzing the devices in our Laboratory, these are not hoax devices."

Its hard to tell what he means here. Does he mean that they fit the minimum legal federal definition of "explosive device" or that they are actually dangerous bombs? Because without any means of detonating the explosion they're clearly not dangerous bombs. They are a fancy container for gunpowder, is the best you can describe them as (I'm assuming black powder, who knows what they had in them).

It is illegal to mail explosive materials through the postal system but its not clear any mail was ever used. Clearly the individual packages were not mailed, they were hand-delivered from what I've read. But maybe they were mailed to a location and hand delivered from there?

Either way, these aren't a bomb any more than a tin can full of powder is.

Not so fast. Many times a new hire will be handed a resignation or told to write one that can be post dated and used at some time in the future if that proves to be necessary.

So the per request would be Trump demanding a resignation letter in advance prior to taking office.

Plus a request is a request and not a demand. A demand would be a firing. A request can be refused.

Did they take a sample and try to detonate it?
Did they put it into a mass spectrometer and identify the individual atomic elements and percentages?
Did they build replicas and verify the device is functional?

313 Ever since Woodward and Bernstein the press has had this H'Wood like romantic vision of the press being the only thing standing between the evil ones in government versus the meek sheeple citizens.

Of course this is relaxed a bit during Democrat admins as we all know the Democrats would never never never over step the bounds of legality and the constitution. Unless it was necessary.

this has finally blown up into some sort of ideal that any one who has every written a word or spoken into a mike is somehow a combination of Joan D'arc and/or Thomas Becket.

Whereas any and all threats real or only imagined become threats to the common weal and the defenders of same rise up in righteous glory to strike those delivering such threats down.

And of course it's all bullsh!t and is mostly in their pointy little heads. But when together they begin to act as a single visioned Hive which will swarm any intruders deemed such by the drones or workers who perceive them as threats.

Good luck on actually getting them to protect the country from those who would harm it if they have the correct initial after their name.

Nope, no stock.

The Shockwave and the Remington Tac 14 fall into a loophole. It's technically not a pistol or a sawed-off shotgun, due to it's length and mfg type. So it's just a 'firearm' and can be bought as one.

It's...not easy to shoot. Get a laser sight if you plan to use it for anything but range fun.

Short Barreled Shotgun and Any Other Weapon are categories under the NFA Act similar to the legal category of a legally owned Machine Gun, but obviously with different registration requirements.

As to the legality of short shotguns with pistol grips, there's been some recent BATFEIEIO rulings that NFA doesn't apply to certain configurations. I don't know the details, but it wouldn't surprise me if the rulings were related to the Taurus Judge.

Hand delivered into the building, although how they got past security with a package I'm unclear on. And how they were opened up and photographed like that... it makes no sense.

You get a bulky, heavy package from someone you don't know, its oddly shaped inside. You cut the side open instead of having security look at it (?) and look inside. Hmm looks like a pipe bomb. Do you:

1) run for cover and call for security
2) open it up, dump out the materials inside, arrange them neatly and take a picture

Wisconsin -(AmmoLand.com)- As you now know, Wisconsin has a new Governor in Tony Evers, and he is even more hostile to gun rights than the outgoing one.
Tony
Evers has said he will make it harder for people to get concealed carry
permits and, like Scott Walker, opposes Constitutional Carry.
But what really worries me is Evers' wishlist for gun control in Wisconsin:

-Universal background checks (total control to deny you your right to purchase guns for any reason they invent)

-State registry of firearms (gun owner registration list)

-Ban
on certain accessories like bump stocks and so-called "high-capacity"
mags

Nope.

To claim self defense, they must be inside your house to be a threat.

If they are outside, you cannot shoot them from inside.

And you can't go outside and shoot them unless they start to attack you.

You might get away with it but unlikely. There must be a threat to life. The threat must be imminent.

You are not required to hide or exit the premises in most states. They do have to have gained access to you and become a threat to your life.

438 Anyway, back to shotguns then.

The Shockwave/Tac 14 in 12 gauge still kicks like a mule. Unless you are carrying it or in a car, you are vastly, vastly better off with a cheap 12g shotty. Much easier to hit with.

But you can mod them to make them more useful. The Shockwave can take a cheap adapter that allows them to use Aguila mini-shells, which double the magazine capacity and have reduced recoil while still being lethal at social distances. A laser sight also makes hip shooting practical at the same distances. Without those mods, they're a range toy. Which is fine, a fun FU to the BATF.

453 Shotguns at home have pluses and minuses.

They END fights. Boom. No more fight if you hit with them at less than 20 yards and they don't have body armor.

But they are not easy to handle and keep full, it takes a good deal of practice. I've seen a lot of guys taking tac courses with me 'short stroking' pump actions under stress. The recoil also is not to be discounted, I don't know a lot of women who like shooting 12g either, so for a mixed household, it may not be the best choice.

Shot does penetrate less than rifle or pistol rounds, that is true. But you have to weight pros and cons.

Liberal I work with was spouting off yesterday. He claimed Trump was the most right wing candidate the republicans had ever had.

This is a guy who is old enough to know Pat Buchanan and Barry Goldwater. Clearly he'd forgotten McCain and Romney whom he'd fulminated about when cued to do so in prior cycles. He'd also forgotten Trump's own past history. I pointed this out to him and he realized that it was like his mind had gone blank on him. He couldn't admit he was wrong, because other people were there, but he knew something had gone wrong with his brain that he was pushing Trump passed Goldwater and Buchannan. And that he had made the same comments about McCain and Romney which were equally ridiculous. It was written all over his face.

The police either start arresting them or they get shot when refusing to leave. Otherwise it's tyranny and law cannot justify tyranny. Of such revolutions are made.

It's taking a whole lot of will power not to root for drug resistant MRSA. A friend on FB this morning posted a sanctimonious little blurb about how no matter what our differences with RBG we should recognize and thank her for her decades of public service. I REFUSE. I may not root for her demise, but, I will be damned if I will thank her for shredding the Constitution in her decades of service to Left Wing principles.

590 Resigning is not being fired. Period.

While true, in this instance its pretty much the same thing, since the president does not have the power to remove a Senate-appointed cabinet post from office. He can strongly request their resignation and they almost always say "okay." That's as close as you can get to firing in this instance.
Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at November 08, 2018 01:18 PM (39g3+)

Respectfully disagree. The president can fire any of his cabinet officials, except for the VP, who was elected by the people.
This question was settled back when Andrew Johnson was impeached for firing the Secretary of War, because Congress at the time had passed a Tenure of Office Act which forbade the firing of cabinet officials. That Act was repealed in 1887 ( which was for the best, since it was very likely unconstitutional)

The Legislative branch does not, despite what I have heard out of the mouths of stupid Democrats in the past few days, have oversight of the executive branch. They only have oversight of departments they have created and retain some control over. If they create a department , then cede it to the executive branch for full control, they are SOL. The executive branch, per the constitution, has separate powers from the legislative and judicial branches.

I just went through it. Incessant pain, day and night for weeks. You don't want to breath, avoid coughing, pray you don't have to sneeze. So phlegm builds up. Nasty phlegm.

I wore a back brace, though you're not supposed to do that, for the pneumonia thing. Went back to temporarily smoking to make my lungs a little less germ friendly.

Unless she's on the finest of narcotics, her life is going to be hell for the next two to three months, if the pneumonia doesn't get her.

Posted by: Adirondack Patriot at November 08, 2018 01:36 PM (1beh4)

She hasn't been competent in years. I guarantee you that she hasn't written her own opinions in 5 years, at best.

"Energetic matierals" means any material that stores a lot of chemical
energy that can be released. It could be C4, it could be fertilizer, it
could be diesel fuel. Details matter.

731 That's why Civil War 2.0 is coming. Soros et al have managed to demonize everyone on the Right into being classified as sub-human and therefore unworthy of civil liberties, fair treatment, or decent treatment. They shriek about the horror of the Right putting them in death camps, but, the Left would cheerfully do it.

732 first time I heard of this...

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) is reportedly being considered to replace Attorney General Jeff Sessions, according to CBS News.

Two sources reportedly familiar with the matter told CBS News that President Donald Trump is considering Christie -- among others -- for the vacated position left by Sessions' resignation Wednesday.

Others reportedly being considered include former New York City Mayor (and attorney to Trump) Rudy Giuliani, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, and former Attorney General William Barr.

I know, I know, I've been offline most of the day, so it's already probably been discussed.

Christie? Rudy? (too old)

I doubt she resigns, it will take her death to get her out of there.
Meanwhile, that is one serious liberal that is off the court. The court
will go on without her, and that means a 5--3 conservative majority.

Even if she remains bed ridden from here on out, she won't retire. Vindictive she is.

------------------------------

The lefties on the court (and off) will suggest she be allowed to listen to arguments via video from her hospital bed and continue to render her opinion from there (via her clerks who will be doing the actual rendering). The conservatives will go along with it because they are easily rolled.

744 513 Remember that obnoxious, pencil-necked radical leftist teacher from John
Jay College named Mike Issacson who Tucker interviewed on his show last
year? Immediately after that interview, Issacson lost his job, fired by
the president of the college who was "shocked" by his vicious anti-cop
rhetoric.

Issacson was one of the founders of Smash Racism DC, the terroristic group that showed up at Carlson's house last night.

On
Twitter, Issacson says he wasn't part of the group that descended on
Carlson's home, saying "I haven't worked with Smash Racism DC in three
years", but also added that he "supports their actions."
