I read a book about Presidents and their treatment of their SS details. The Republicans were routinely pleasant and caring about the agents. Democrats (in particular HRC) were frequently nasty or treated them like servants or low-lives.

Only time I've seen them personally was on a trip through the Juan de Fuca strait, up from Puget Sound, took a vacation there once. Got up close to a pod of killer whales (which are more like really really big dolphins) When he got into the area, and the guide told us it was coming, one of the older females swam over right next to the boat and popped her head up where she could look straight at all of us, see what kind of people were there. Once she decided this wasn't a group that was going to do any bad things (the guide said they recognize different boats, and different types of boats) then she let the whole pod, including some calves, swim right by us.
It was amazing - in that short episode I could see planning, threat assessment, social coordination - they weren't just smart, they were scary smart.

Burmese pythons, and bad news if true. To begin with, South Florida is more salubrious than their native habitat, so they tend to grow to pretty big size, even for Burmese (which are the second biggest as is).
Now wildlife authorities in South Florida are concerned they've been breeding with Indian pythons, allowing the hybrid to seek out higher, drier ground where people live.

Whales aren't aggressive, especially in a group of three like that.
They weren't going to do anything to the boat. They were just coming
over to check it out.
Only time I've seen them personally was on a trip through the Juan
de Fuca strait, up from Puget Sound, took a vacation there once. Got
up close to a pod of killer whales (which are more like really really
big dolphins) When he got into the area, and the guide told us it was
coming, one of the older females swam over right next to the boat and
popped her head up where she could look straight at all of us, see what
kind of people were there. Once she decided this wasn't a group that
was going to do any bad things (the guide said they recognize different
boats, and different types of boats) then she let the whole pod,
including some calves, swim right by us.
It was amazing - in that short episode I could see planning, threat
assessment, social coordination - they weren't just smart, they were
scary smart.

Ah, yes, the whale boats in the San Juan Islands.
If you are visiting the Puget Sound area in the summer, and have a day, enjoy a whale watch boat excursion. They leave out of Anacortes, a little under 2 hours north of Seattle. They chase the orca pods and then turn off their motors and float, and the orcas, and greys when they are passing through, swim by.
There are 3 or 4 of the boats, carry maybe 50-80 people each, and are fast for their size. Usually the crowd is out for 4-5 hours of cruising / watching. They have to, because they need to travel a ways to catch up to where the pod is, maybe 20 or 30 miles. We listen on the radio in our private cruiser, as they talk their coded messages to find the whale pod for the day. They don't want a lot of private boats showing up.
If you don't see a whale, your next day is free, They have it down pretty well to always find whales. The San Juan Islands in the summer time are incredible, guaranteed amazing scenery.

My point was that there was a sustained battle, over a river, in the west, next to a war cemetery, And the bridge was vital even though the water was only waste deep.
Only a foreign script writer could imagine such a a place in the US.

I think Democrats live in a separate universe from me. Every time they describe an event or someone's motivations, it's exactly the opposite of what I'm seeing.
Ever notice how their first reaction to everything is to assume a malevolent intent? And since everything elicits a reaction from them, their minds are spinning with hatred towards everyone who isn't them or in their tribe. They think everyone is out to get them.
That is what is essentially un-American IMO. We didn't used to be that way, and most of us aren't that way now. That's the type of bullshit that's prevalent in lesser societies. It has no place here, particularly in politics.

My argument would be you can't be civil with people who act like animals - like the dems do, and scream and screach when they don't get there way like the dems do, and encourage people to intimidate and threaten their opponents like the dems do, and make up fake charges of rape and other crimes like the dems do, and pay foreign spies to make up fake dossiers like the dems do. No, This is war. They need to be soundly defeated - hopefully thrashing them at the ballot box will be enough.
