Ramirez made the accusation in a blockbuster Sunday night New Yorker story. "Our counsel repeatedly tried to reach him," Kennedy said of Ramirez's lawyer. "They finally did reach him, and he said we are not issuing a statement. He said if you want our statement, read the New Yorker."Meanwhile, Christina Blasey Ford might, get this, also not show up to testify under oath, according to Dianne Feinstein:

In the below letter, he rejects Dianne Feinstein's most recent (of many) demands that Ford not testify under oath, and also rejects her demand that the FBI investigate Ramirez's claims. He notes, pointedly, that false statements made to The New Yorker are not subject to penalty for perjury, but false statements made to Congress are, and if Ramirez ever decides to sell her Recovered Memories to Congress where she can be held criminally liable for perjury, then they'll decide how and whether to proceed -- but they won't be proceeding before she's given sworn testimony or a sworn written statement.

I'm not sure if that's called hyper-offense or what, but to be clear: there is still a Senate subpoena power. If the Dems think they will have a Senate majority after November, even after a mass defection of NeverTrumpers, they are smoking some serious rock. Grassley needs to make it clear that after the Kavanaugh vote, they are not going to play it like Roy Moore. Every one of the whores will be dragges before the Senate and jailed for contempt or perjury. That will put an end to the farce.

But there is a way to prove that they received compensation for coming forward, and they do not want that risk.

It must be said - true, this is not a "real court" in which he is charged, but it is also true that most censorship today is not undertaken by the government, and the same rule applies to both:
If leftists clearly state general opposition to the principle behind a rule for Why The Government Doesn't Get To Do This, No, Not Even Then, then there is no possible way to expect them to uphold the law or not seek to subvert the law when at the levers of government. It beggars the imagination that anyone could think they would.

My blog friend's son, in HS, got cancer. While he was sick some HS girl claimed he'd raped her. He'd never even hung out with her. Cops investigated and quickly cleared him (he wasn't even in town at the time of the alleged rape).
Luckily he beat the cancer, but he never went back to that HS, homeschooled instead.
Years later the mom finds out, from the grapevine, that the girl had gotten pregnant and was scared that her parents would be mad so she cried rape. She picked the sick kid as the bad guy hoping he'd be dead by the time anyone tried to investigate.

ONe of the things I most try to do (which I suspect is a source of annoyance for some here) is to try to find the most reasonable basis of a leftist's position. I try to put myself in their place -- as I was in my youth -- and figure out what prompts them to say or believe what they do.
its easy to just assume stupidity or some base wickedness for their position, or to figure its a crass political maneuver. That they only take this position knowing it is wrong or insane simply because it is politically expedient or to advance a cause.
I try to think through what an honest, well meaning person would be thinking and feeling were they to hold that position. To give them the benefit of the doubt or good will.
The left is having none of that. There's no possible reason someone might defend Kavanaugh except to troll leftists and spit in their face, they claim. That's patently absurd and without logical basis. Its cheap and easy, assuming the worst of one's foe always is easy and gets you pats on the back from your fellow political travelers.
But the truth is, few people do things just to be terrible or mean spirited. Almost everyone -- even the worst of we humans -- come up with at least a plausible justification for our actions. Hitler believed he was doing the right thing, saving humanity from corruption, and building a better future. Stalin thought he was saving his homeland from bad forces and bringing paradise. Pol Pot, Ceasescu, all of them thought they were heroes in their story.

So, female voters are fickle and easily influenced except when they're unchanging and bear grudges, and the news media would spin this as contrition among Repubs... and all women are a monolith and alike to be built up or eroded without end in either direction.
You can see the lefty derangements, objectification, and irrational beliefs about the media seeping in. He's making an argument that could only appeal to a lefty and can't recognize why we aren't getting it and why he isn't convincing.

Probably look for another victim group angle and exploit that line of attack. After forming themselves from mutually hostile victim identity groups, picking the go-to group for the attack seems to be the extent of the playbook.
