Grab some comfort food, a tasty beverage and enjoy the world of pets. Hey Mom, Look at me! Thank you Hank. Have you ever heard the expression, Look what the cat dragged in? Well in this situation quite the haul. Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Police in Britain said a pet owner contacted authorities when their cat came home toting an unusual trophy -- a bag of drugs. The Ashley Police Team in Bristol, England, said the cat came home with a bag that contained several smaller bags believed to contain illegal drugs. Life Number 9, he went out with a FLASH. Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Utility officials in New Orleans said 7,556 people were without power Monday due to a cat that wandered into a substation. Cat 1 Look, no feets! This is Shasha our most neurotic and paranoid rescue. We have had her for 3 years, we think she is around 6 years old.Cat 2 Hi, this is Tiger Lily, she is our little Houston rescue. My husband fell for her at a PetSmart and brought her home. She thinks she owns the house. Small cat with a big attitude! Thanks for all you do, Dread Pirate Roberta. No need to thank us here. We are thankful for all of our readers and our Morons who submit photos to us. Neat looking cats. Thanks for the submission. Heard your inbox was a little bare last week. I’d be happy to help. We have Isabella the happy hound who loooooves her boat, and Rainy Bird who has an amazing amount of brain power for a one pound creature. She’s keeping an eye on things - making sure her underlings behave. Enjoy the waning summer everyone. Laura I know you've been waiting a while to see your pets in the thread. Thank you for your patience. "Pocket" (I didn't name her), some kind of spotted tabby. Pretty dim even by cat standards, but affectionate. This is her post-bacon face-DoomedShe may be dim but appears to be very loved!!! Appreciate you submitting her photo. Casts off back legs 2 weeks early! - Mrs. E Looks like a full recovery? Woot-Woot!!! First pic is Flash, who likes adjusting the fan to suit him. The second is our smallest little snot, Ralphie, who’s too cute for his own good. - nnptcgradWow a submission of 5 doggehs. Posted by: Surfperch at September 22, 2018 03:27 PM (hVHEm) When I was a kid, my sister had a cat who really was a hoot. I'll never forget one instance in particular. We had to give the cat pills for some malady and everything went off without a hitch. We'd been there before so knew how to get a cat to swallow pills. About six months later we were in the dining room getting things ready for a holiday dinner. One of the things we did was move the table (pretty heavy it took multiple people) so we could vacuum the carpet. So we move the table and there are the pile of pills underneath one of the crosspieces supports. Perfectly hidden so if someone took a passing glance you wouldn't have seen them. The only way to see them was to literally move the table. We laughed for hours and hours. Hell I'm laughing now and this happened back in the 1980s. I gave the cat a hug just because you had to admire the sheer fucking balls of the whole thing, the cleverness of it. Posted by: Dack Thrombosis at September 22, 2018 03:34 PM (4ErVI) 63

I could hear screaming while I was in the shower and hustled into the room and he had her backed into a corner. It was FUCKING TERRIFYING. He was making sounds even I'd never heard. I had to take him out of the room at arm's length because I was afraid I'd lose an eye. I slammed the door and my girlfriend was actually crying she was so scared. I was pretty shook up myself. About 30 minutes later I open the door and HE'S RIGHT THERE AND GOES AT HER AGAIN. It was unfuckingbelievable. Out he goes again and eventually he calmed down but wow. My girlfriend never liked being around him again after that until I went out of town a few years later to a funeral and she grudgingly agreed to look after him. It turns out that once she cleaned his litter box and fed him he thought she was the most awesome person in the world. There were times after that where we'd come home and he would go past me to greet her with a rub up against her leg. Even still though she would always flinch a bit when he came around. Craziest shit ever. Posted by: Dack Thrombosis at September 22, 2018 03:50 PM (4ErVI) 86

Statement that Judiciary should make:
Even if "proven" the Ford allegation against Judge Kavanaugh, concerning events alleged when he was 17 years old, are if not totally irrelevant, at best marginally relevant to any serious consideration of his present qualifications. And, in light of that conclusion, unless there were definitive proof of such events, such as a prior conviction, or even concrete evidence from the time (such as a contemporaneous police report) it would serve no legitimate purpose to have "testimony" presented on such an issue that is inherently unverifiable, and collateral. Works a lot better for dogs than it does for cats-- most kittehs will lick off the food surrounding the pill and leave the pill behind. The technique I learned for giving liquid meds is to 1) have the drug dose in a syringe ready to go; 2) use the thumb and index finger of the nondominant hand to put pressure on the muscles at the side of the cat's jaw joint; 3) holding the syringe in the dominant hand, squeeze the medicine into the pocket inside the cat's cheek when the cat's mouth opens. The cat will swallow the liquid automatically even if it tastes terrible, and you don't have to worry about the liquid getting into the cat's windpipe. Of course, always thank the kitteh for cooperating by giving a treat or two. Posted by: Basement Cat at September 22, 2018 04:04 PM (3C9q2) 116

My cat Penny has to take a variety of meds. I give the heart pills to her twice a day. I don't know how this has happened, but she will eagerly jump on my lap in the am/pm to get them.
Once she's on my lap, I give her lots of love and petting, then kind of grab the top of her head, open her jaw using my index finger and thumb, and when her mouth is open, I sort of throw the pill in. I then close her jaw and rub her throat a bit to make sure she's swallowed it. Most of the time it works. Sometimes she spits it out and I try again. The method is rather inelegant, however, she gets her medicine at the same time every day. So... it works. Posted by: shibumi at September 22, 2018 04:20 PM (QKV7o) 147

What do I want Grassley to do? In the immortal words of Don Coreleone, I WANT HIM TO BE A MAN! Or at the very least not be the dodering old fool who gets rooked by the evil and satanic forces that are the Democrat party. To the best of my knowledge, the only thing that Grassley and the GOP lickspittles on the committee have seen, is the vague and redacted letter that she sent to her representative and ChiDi dumped upper decker style onto the body politic after the committee hearings concluded and they were going to move to vote Kavenoaugh out of committee. No one on the GOP side has directly spoken to her, no one has gotten a bio of her, no one has gotten a sworn affidavit detailing in explicit terms the who, what, where, when of her allegation. They got bupkis, ungatz, nada, nothing, zilch. And in a Seinfeldian manner of accusations based on nothing, they have now offered to let her come in to the committee and smear Kavenagah and he doesn't have the opportunity to defend himself from this slander in the committee room as Grassley, piece of shit that he is, has allowed the accuser to speak AFTER the accused, violating every maxim and precept of our adversarial system of justice. Andy McCarthy has a good column on this. It raises one question in my mind. If even the lukewarm conservatives all say not to delay, and that the demands are unreasonable, why the hell is Grassley wimping out?
Granted, I saw this coming. The first cave is always followed by others. Now he's saying "One more capitulation can't hurt. I can take it or leave it alone." And now he's a surrender-addict. Useless POS. Posted by: Eeyore, fomerly George LeS at September 22, 2018 04:32 PM (59GGI) 165

Only thing I can find about any sort of "deal" is at places I tend to not frequent - such as the Daily Beast - for obvious reasons. And even they are admitting Professor Snowflake's lawyers haven't agree to Grassley's "final" offer of a Wednesday hearing.
They have apparently, again according to sites friendly to the commies, also NOT agreed to any of the other conditions specified by the Committee - such as she goes first and will be questioned by outside counsel. No deal. Posted by: DocJ at September 22, 2018 04:38 PM (9TYxj) 174

Absolutely, but he should have been confirmed last week and not have to face further harassment and humiliation at the hands of the evil and satanic forces arrayed against him and we the people. If all it takes is some vague, impossible and implauseable allegations of sexual misconduct to derail a confirmation process than it's going to happen again and again and again and again. We and the GOP have absolutely no idea who this woman is. NO. IDEA. And she has now been given the dominus vobiscum to smear and slander a good man. Just passing this along, because I did not know this was a thing. And figured its good pet knowledge to pass along.
I noticed that my Coco kitteh was starting to smell really foul while I was grooming her, so I checked her rear end to see whether she hadn't cleaned herself completely after using the litter box. (She has medium-long fur and went through a brief phase when she wasn't too efficient after using the box). I was startled to see that her rear end was red and inflamed, and that there was a reddish-brown stain on the damp cloth that I (very gently) wiped her with. Took Coco to the vet ASAP, and it turned out to be a yeast infection Vet gave her a shot of some antifungal drug and gave me a container of medicated wipes to cleanse her with twice a day for a week. It did the trick-- she hasn't had a recurrence. But the vet did tell me that yeast infections in cats' ears are more common than yeast infections of the anal area. Sadly, my anger is squarely on him and TPTB in the R party at this point for allowing this to become such a colossal s***show. They produced results; she got to walking again. Then at the follow-up for actually treating the issue, I got 2 things to put in her ears daily: Skinguard Otic Cleanse solution, which seems to just be for cleaning the ears, and Mometamax - a gooey gel meant to eliminate the infection. Question: Is there any way to convince a cat to let you hold him? My Ghost is extremely affectionate, sleeps cuddled up to me at night, head-butts me on a regular basis, and wants petted quite a bit, but he will NOT let me hold him, or even sit on my lap. I'd dearly love holding him, and there's nothing better than a cat purring on your lap, but he simply will not.
Help? Posted by: empire1 at September 22, 2018 06:09 PM (boIPe) 255
