5 Eh, O'Keefe has a history now of overpromising and underdelivering. I still support him - it's a good cause - but he's no silver bullet. And his first video mainly went viral because Hannah Giles was a smokeshow.

Him dressed as a pimp was 24k, though. Solid gold.

10 I'll give you that O'Keefe tends to overpromise, but quite a number of his videos have had what I would consider "the real goods" but its quite amazing what can be swept away when most media just chants "edited video" even when he provides the full thing.

92 The deep state and the resistance is apparently nothing new for the Democrats. I just started reading The Life and Writings of Abraham Lincoln and in it the author writes that after Lincoln's election some existing officials "did their best to strip Northern armories by sending materials of war into the South..."

No idea how reliable it is, but I certainly wouldn't put it past them.

Definitely. When I was in college (just before the total madness set in, but somewhat recently), I worked as a field technician for our IT department. It was a mostly-male group - we had one woman on staff in my area.

That woman's job? Provide service to female professors and students. She was a junior employee fresh to the job. If she didn't have the skill needed to fix the problem (too complicated, an area she didn't know, whatever), her job became to accompany me or whichever other male tech had to go make the call.

We were never, ever permitted to be alone with a female professor or student. This was a hard, no-exceptions policy handed down by our VP to avoid any appearance of impropriety or potential for false accusations. He had a staffer who had to deal with a false accusation for a *year* earlier on in the field-service program - so promulgated new rules to prevent it.

It was a hugely wasteful policy in terms of manpower, but it was very safe.

And people think Pence is insane...

I guess the only thing I'm hung up on is if it needs to be public humiliation with tomatoes thrown at her in the stocks, or prolonged jail time via legal means.

My initial leaning is towards the latter, but since that option has been neutered because of protected class or whatever, f*ck it. It wasn't my decision that the only solution left available to people not in power is to ruin her in the public eye.

A big step would be to silence the over-the-air broadcasters. Don't revoke one or the other's FCC licensing - yank all of them. All broadcasters who transmit over the air.

The public needs the airwaves clear for fighting the Russians or some shit.

They claim to be totally objective, so the FCC should be as well, and play no favorites.

Let them regroup on cable or the internet, where there is competition.

That way, it's non-discriminatory and pro-competition. And there is absolutely no chance whatsoever that ABC, CBS, or NBC could ever compete for even a single business quarter without their state-mandated oligopoly.

176 Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley on Tuesday raised the possibility that next weeks high-stakes open hearing to examine the sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh could be canceled if the accuser doesnt accept the committees invitation.

Grassley, RIowa, scheduled a hearing for Monday for Kavanaugh and accuser Christine Blasey Ford to answer questions from senators about the allegation. When there is a major trial, the networks operate a pool camera. Not all networks and all their equipment can fit inside a courtroom, so they operate 1-2 rigs and they all split the costs to share the feed for their own reporting.

We could do something similar. Provide a single channel in each market for OTA news and make them share it. They can split it up or pay each other for timeslots as they see fit. Eventually, the strong will eat the weak and there will be only one left. Then, it is a monopoly and can be dismantled under Sherman/Clayton.

Yeah, that's the problem. If the legal system worked the way it should via "equal protection" and all, then there would be no need for the other. But it doesn't, and so the only solution is public destruction.

We didn't make these rules - and, as a matter of fact, we protested their use and argued against them for decades - but this is the battlefield that has been shaped for us and we've got to learn to fight by them.

235 instead of these teenage movie spoofs about fake suppressed memories ... we should be hearing 24/7 news on those declassified docs showing Rosenstein/Comey/Mueller were heading up the coup long ago ... FAKED evidence and lied about it to the FISC.

We should be discussing how much worse this is than the (partly) faked Nixon Watergate crap ... also emanating out of DeepState when he was too much of a "peacemaker".
We should be discussing whether Comey/Rosey/Mueller will be hung (legally or lamppost) or life in prison for high treason. And whether Clintons/Obama will be outed for their deals with Iran/Russia/China ... and will they go to prison, or life house arrest thanks to the benevolence our our fearless leader Trump!

It is *very* tricky to have one without the other while maintaining an absence of accountability. The double-standard has to exist or a woman might be responsible for something - and this is entirely unacceptable to feminists.

"I liked it" means that the event was part of the "free love"/"sex without consequences" ethos.
"I didn't like it" means that the event was part of the "new puritanism" ethos.
In order to square the circle and enable the latter outcome, you also need to have the "listen and believe" default framework to remove any responsibility or accountability.

All it costs you is your morality and your old-fashioned legal traditions and notions of justice. Small price to pay.

New Puritanism is about...destroying healthy heterosexual relationships by convincing women that all men are rapey, so you must get the state involved in each relationship/sexual encounter (see: consent forms, regret sex/mad at ex-BF or friend with benefits "rape" accusations). This would explain why her allegation is so vague as to time - maybe she wanted to remain flexible in her ability to claim when it happened.

If she wrote a similar letter about Gorsuch (altho I'm very skeptical) or even others, that would explain a whole bunch.

You'd think, but it depends on to whom she sent it. Maybe she sent it to someone who wrote her off as a nut job. In fact, maybe that's what Feinstein did originally, which would explain the delay in bringing it up.

Feinstein may only finally have brought it up at all to burnish her "progressive" bona fides (she's locked into a death struggle with the leftist Kevin de Wetback for her Senate seat), thinking that the mere allegation would induce Kavanaugh to withdraw.

Now the really fun part would be if she sent the Gorsuch letter to Feinstein as well, and Feinstein is the one who decided she was a nut job. Back then, Feinstein's career in the Senate wasn't hanging by a thread.

Ya know, I feel such similarity to the 2016 election. The left is sure and smug, the news sources have been ripping Trump and his supporters daily, and then Trump wins.

They have doubled down on those tactics ever since, and added some new ones. I wonder if the outcome will be similar in response.

399 We are going to feel really stupid if Kavanaugh turns out to be another Souter."

12 years of rulings on record, anyone can read them. His judicial philosophy and temperament was very clear.

Bush totally fucked the dog with Souter. He picked him even though he didn't know anything about him because John Sununu liked him. They did almost no vetting whatsoever, he had a record of being pro "law and order" so they went with him.

In fact, what Souter believed, and how he ruled throughout his career, was that The Government Was Always Right. When there was a case against a cop, then the cop was right, that made him look pro law and order. But if there was a case against a DA, the DA was automatically right. Against the City, or the State, or the Bureaucracy - well of course the Bureacracy was always right, and how dare any peons challenge the Glory and Majesty of the State.

Gawd, I hated Souter, I still think he was one of the worst Justices of the entire 20th Century. At least RBG has always been honest about her liberalism, but Souter was a worthless snake in the grass, his entire life.

He hits the cover off the ball and wins the game but they can't find a starting position for him because he "only" plays centerfield and Bump is in that spot (even though every other player on the team basically sucked and Roy Hobbs could have played any position better than anyone). The first time he ever touched a ball was when Pops finally let him take a swing in batting practice? Really. Never touched a ball in the time before that ... Stuff like that.

429 If she really wrote a letter about Gorsuch?

That would be weird, and I only see two ways for that to happen.

1.) Her handlers got trigger happy, and would've had to call the Commissars at the newspaper and tell them "pull up, pull up, the Party is going to acquiesce on Gorsuch!"

Then, miracle of miracles, the next nominee, who they actually are going to Bork, turns out to have gone to the same school as him.

That's a lot of coincidences.

2.) The Democrats and their press Commissars have such letters on file for every single shortlisted nominee prospect in every administration. Which is far-fetched, but perhaps less so than #1.

This was my thought. When they got the shortlist, they went back through their histories. They saw that these two went to the same prep school, and probably figured the odds of *both* of them making it were small. I imagine it costs a damn fortune to lay a trap like this, so it may well have been seen as a "twofer" to consolidate opposition operations for two guys who are basically the same on important demographic points.
