Lisa Page Admits No Evidence of Collusion When They Opened Investigation, Raising Questions About Her Desperation to "Open the Case" "In a Formal Chargeable Way"

They had no evidence, but they were determined to find some.

I was assured by my establishment betters that no one in the entire Department of Justice would do such a thing, ever.

Text messages from disgraced FBI figures Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, discussing whether to open a "case" in a "formal chargeable way" after Director James Comey was fired, are under fresh scrutiny after Page told congressional investigators there was no evidence of Russian collusion at the time, according to three congressional sources.

Two hours after Comey's termination became public on May 9, 2017, Strzok, a now-former FBI agent, texted Page, his then-colleague and lover: "We need to open the case we've been waiting on now while Andy is acting."

"Andy" is a reference to then-Deputy Director Andrew McCabe who temporarily took over the bureau until Christopher Wray was confirmed as director in August 2017.

Page, a former FBI attorney, replied to Strzok: "We need to lock in (redacted). In a formal chargeable way. Soon."

Yeah. I have noted before that these people have *ruined* political espionage novels for at least a generation. Fiction can't get more absurd or corrupt than our reality. They'll go all in on whoever wins the nomination, and if that happens to be Kamala, she'll be the moderator that Obama was made out to be the second she clinches.

Yes, Trump won in 2016, despite the media. That doesn't mean the media is dead and can't move things anymore.

159 Daily Mail has published the text of the letter Kavanaugh's accuser sent to Feinstein. In the letter, Ford writes:

"The assault occurred in a suburban Maryland area home at a gathering that included me and four others."

Ford told the 2012 marriage therapist that she was attacked by 4 guys (according to the therapist's notes). Ford says the therapist misunderstood, and that there were 4 boys at the party, but only 2 who attacked her.

So in her letter, she says that the "gathering" was just her and 4 others.

So what was a 15 year old girl doing at a "gathering" of four 17 year old boys, at somebody else's house, at night (according to the WaPo article, the party was at night)?

The letter also says that after the alleged attack:

"I exited the bathroom, ran outside of the house, and went home."

Since she says she was only 15 at the time, she could not have driven herself home, since she would not have had a driver's license. So she must have walked home, so this "rape" house must be fairly close to where she lived (at least within walking distance).

186 Daily Mail has published the text of the letter Kavanaugh's accuser sent to Feinstein.

Feminists bitched to get little girls allowed to play Little League, to show the girls that they could compete with the boys. At that age, of course, they can.

After puberty there is an absolute need for separate teams for the sexes, because girls simply cannot compete with boys.

Now if they continued with having mixed sex teams, the girls would rapidly learn this. Instead, we have this crap in movies and TV where 110 lb. girls kick the asses of a dozen 210 lb. SEALs, or something. It's ridiculous.

I know, it's 2018, the country is unrecognizably stupid, illogical, ignorant, and Third World in sensibility - speaking here only of most of the Beltway "elite" - but are effin' kidding me?

A ludicrous, obviously non-credible late hit, which already has massive procedural impropriety (info was withheld from Judiciary Comm. during the entire vetting process, though it was in the hands of the ranking member, FFS), and now the vandals are just refusing to participate to clear up the mud cloud they've created?

The weakness, stupidity, and cowardice of the Senate GOP - not to mention their dominant preference for stupid, disastrous, unpopular policies - is far worse than it seemed. Amazingly. Much of the collegiality that many here rightly now find bizarre and offensive, in previous times, was actually based on collegial behavior by both sides. This kind of high-stakes vandalism - and many other incidents the last few years - have been jaw-dropping to those who know how the Senate worked in most of previous history.

And the GOP majority has taken, AFAIK, zero steps to deter, punish, or prevent this stuff. Sure, they've happily accepted Reid's filibuster change on judicial nominations, which is critical and good, but beyond that? Just DiFi's earlier outrage of leaking committee closed transcripts in the Mega-Scandal case was an historic offense that, AFAIK, had zero repercussions for her, on the committee or in the body as a whole.

If the nutcase liar doesn't testify (anyone really thinks there's a chance her claims are credible? are you kidding me?), WH/Grassley will have no problem moving ahead, and there will be no change in the political dynamic in the Senate as a whole.

And I don't know where some of the commenters here get their sense of this dynamic, but there isn't any sort of "cover" for vulnerable Dems at this point, nor any sign of GOP no-votes.

That has nothing to do with its role as perfect verb form.

It might surprise you but lots of English words have more than a single grammatical use. For instance, you might use the word "use" in two different ways in the same sentence. That doesn't detract from the correctness of both.

"Proven" is the perfect verb form of "prove", not "proved".

This is possibly the least credible part of her ridiculous story. People's memories of junior high and high school are pretty distinct- the difference between being 12 and 16 years old is vast.
For me (and I think most people), from year to year, I hung out with some different groups of friends, dated different people, participated in different sports, and had different jobs. For almost any memorable event in high school or junior high, I can pinpoint how old I was by one of these yardsticks.

Her estimate? ESTIMATE? This was a traumatic, near-death experience, but she can only narrow the date down to a four year period?

When I was six we were visiting friends of my parents, when the friends' boxer jumped, put his paws on my chest, knocking me down, then got me by the throat on the ground.* Everybody freaked (except me; I'm still a dog lover!). I remember it clearly, even the names of the my parents' friends. And I was six years old. But this chick, who was much older at the time, can't narrow the date down below a four year period? This stinks.

In the next paragraph, she says that "From across the room a very drunken [Mark Judge] said mixed words to Kavanaugh ranging from "go for it" to "stop."

It's a confusing picture. She's saying she and K were on the bed, and Judge was across the room, alternately egging K on and/or telling him to stop, and then periodically running over to the bed and jumping onto them.

Sounds like bullshit.

Except we obviously DON'T expect it, which was kind of my point.

Holding the GOP Senate together is harder than holding the Dem Senate together. So in this regard he has exceeded my expectations - not met them.

Holding the Senate together to block Garland was phenomenal. And getting the filibuster for Court nominations - was easy for us - but to get that past certain GOP senators may have been more of a feat.

320 This is possibly the least credible part of her ridiculous story.

373 Her letter to Feinstein doesn't say anything about having a bathing suit under the clothes. That must have been a detail she added when she talked to the WaPo. Also that the party was at night.

Hearing from lots of pundit types who think Kavanaugh is finished. But from the Senate, I'm hearing lots of GOP Senators and staffers viewing this as all a Democrat stunt to delay Kavanaugh and they intend to see it through to the end.

Good.

I'm only worried about Flake. Collins seems to be on board, Sasse is less deranged than Flake in his anti-Trumpsim (though that's not saying much), and Murkowski really does seem to like her place in the Senate (probably more than enough to outweigh the risk of her killing this nomination).

Worried doesn't mean convinced, though. We'll see how things play out.

IOW, Sasse is a pissy little bitch but he's not stupid. He knows what he can get away with. Voting NO on Kavanaugh is not one of those things.

375 She is two years younger than Kav..

so age range would be 12-16.

Now, just what would be the chances of knowing a girl TWO years younger, who goes to a different school, be?

Thanks. I was working from the silly assumption the date range started at age 15, since that was the number I kept hearing as her age during the alleged event.

I think it's an incredible stretch to not remember if you were in High School or Middle School when a traumatic event occurred. I think even those of us with a shaky memory can link long past memories distinctly to one or the other.

377 the longer the crimes go unpunished (Ohr, Comey, Rosenstein ... Hillary ... at least 20 known names with known crimes) ... the longer the secret investigation continues, the longer they have to threaten and buy off all involved -- (what offers were made to Flake over his ham radio? or whatever covert means?)

and they are free to keep building/adjusting The Narrative via MSM, while truth tries to find a pair of pants (which are being held by up 'the cleaners' till all revised history is complete).

Don't know about other 29yo here, but drinking parties involving minors (including stupid boys) don't seem all that likely without problems for the parents -- even in the rather louche milieu (did I do that right?) of early 80s.

Remember that Japanese mini-series, Shogun? Remember all the cars with bumper stickers that said "Who shot J.R?"

Remember Blondie and Heart of Glass? Remember The Cars, The Knack, The Sex Pistols and The Fixx?

I remember the people who's houses I went to and the cities they were in.

I don't remember raping anyone or getting raped. But that's just me.
