Because there are no consequences for these interruptions, the idiot is ejected and all is quiet until the next idiot starts screaming and yelling like a timed explosive charge. Of course, *not one so-called journalist* is asking questions such as who are these idiots, how did they get in, and what senator gave them their passes. Which I assure you they'd be crawling all over like flies on sh* if this was a hearing for a judge nominated by a Democrat president. If that were the case, CNN would find out who the idiots are and, within one hour, would be broadcasting their names, addresses, phone numbers, photos of their children and where they go to school. But I digress. The point is, by issuing passes to provocateurs, the Democrat senators have discovered how to subsidize their guerrilla theater on the sly and there really ought to be consequences for it."

IT'S NOT A BARBIE DREAM CAR SHEESH
I got a 2015 Honda Civic with 20k miles on it. Dark grey, black interior. It's got a back up camera and a side mirror camera and ABS and all the bells and whistles. Oh and a brand new set of tires.
I got a very nice deal on it, what with the owner of the place going to our church and him knowing my dad, and they gave me $100 for the other car and they're going to tow it and salvage it.
I am best pleased. Not about having a car payment again but still. I was also grateful that it took all of 10 minutes for the loan approval to go through.

They also have some quite onservative/evangelical ones (Look up, Good News" magazine or Rob Renfroe and Walter Fenton and they do not have-at the moment, a policy for the marriage of gays.
Doesn't mean people won't or don't do it, but it's still against the UM Book of Discipline and will probably be for a while because there are many growing conservative Congregations in places like African which are opposed to it and Methodist vote as one body in General Conference.

I got a very nice deal on it, what with the owner of the place going to our church and him knowing my dad, and they gave me $100 for the other car and they're going to tow it and salvage it.
I am best pleased. Not about having a car payment again but still. I was also grateful that it took all of 10 minutes for the loan approval to go through.

If, like Senator Grassley and most GOP Senators, you are concerned with respect for your authority and institutional norms, then this guarantees no one will take you seriously. It makes them look weak, because they are weak, and causes the base to desire further centralization of authority in the President.

I really don't understand where this "the Senate issues passes" is coming from, Committee hearings are always open to the public, although for some you may have to show up hours early and stand in line, and for very high profile hearings like this they use special procedures. I think people are confusing this with passes for the Senate Chamber in the Capitol, which does take a pass from an individual Senator.

Get all the fluids changed soon, so you have a baseline and know when everything was done, and get it out on the road and enjoy it!

The suggestion to tint the windows is a good one. The local tint shops will know what's legal in your state, and it does make a difference on a hot day -- even if only to your state of mind. Your A/C will not have to work as hard, either. Get a reflector shield, one for the windshield and one for the back glass, at Walmart, and put them up when you leave the car. The interior will be much, much less hot when you get back.

Kavanaugh looks tired but I imagine he feels a calling to be on the
Supreme Court or wouldn't have accepted the nomination. He has also been

First, the idea that Congressional hearings are anything other than an opportunity for politicians to preen is a myth. During the Obama years I believe the term was coined right here, Failure Theater. Public hearings have always been like theater even if it seems a new phenomenon. The real work happens in closed door hearings and it is largely done by staffers.
At the end of this process the minority Party will be shown to have no power and everything they have done will be shown to be not just a waste of time but staged nonsense. People are dumb but they aren't that dumb.
If Grassley had cleared the room all we would have heard for 3 straight days was that the Republicans were trying to hide something and were preventing women and minorities from speaking. It's not like CNN would have developed some new respect for the institutions or for Republicans.
This was the least bad way to get through this and what will truly be remembered is that Kavanaugh is the 9th SC justice and Booker is an awful Spartacus.

They were retarded tiny. One of the football coaches in my high school drove one when they were somewhat new. The thing looked like it had wheelbarrow tires. The funny thing was the coach was a big round guy, so when he was in it he took up the entire inside. I swear it was looking at magilla gorilla pressed into a car and having to plant his fist in the ground to turn. Occasionally we used to get a bunch of us together and pick the car up and move it to different parking spots, so he never quite knew where he parked. lol

I've seen political hearings going a ways back. Including a much younger Donald Trump in 91. So it's not my first time at the rodeo. I didn't call for the expulsion of Democratic Senators, though that too would be justified, nor for the hearing to be expedited. While I agree with the fine details of everything you said, I can clearly see a sharp line between pre and post-Bush nomination hearings, so my view of th final outcome is a bit more cycnical. Note well that when hearings are for Democratic candidates, then gosh aren't the Republicans well-behaved. It never helps them among the broader population though.
I don't think we actually disagree on many points of note here, and if the libs tear each other apart over their failure, ao much the better. I do say that if the GOP has a cunning plan to exploit the crazy, now is the time to unleash it. And not in web only ads that the conservative elite, and no one else, talk about.

As a 9ers fan, I honestly did not give two hoots about his protest theater. What bugged me more was his tendency to throw incomplete passes and picks in clutch situations. Joe Montana (and also this new kid Jimmy Garoppolo) got better when the pressure was on, but Kaepernick just wilted. So I didn't miss him when his contract wasn't renewed.

This is a common sentiment, but it is also false. Whatever minor missteps the President may make, they pale in comparison to the extended insanity at all levels of the Democratic Party. Bill Kristol sounds like a greasy, nebbishy rodent holding a singalong for rats.
They don't care about tone, not genuinely. What they do care about is that President Trump exposes their lies about free trade, and that the policy is broadly popular not just in the GOP base but the Democratic one. More conservatives are asking why they should be sacrificed for corporate dogma, especially thanks to Big Tech and the NFL, which gives the President one hell of an opening.

John Mortimer's Rumpole books, each a collection of stories, are great also. They were eventually gathered into volumes, The Rumpole Omnibus 1 and 2 for sure. He'd published a couple of other shorter volumes of stories around the time of his death, and I don't know know if they were ever collected into Omnibus 3.
There are also a couple of audio Rumpoles. I had the tapes, but don't know whether they're available in other formats.
And that sums up what I don't know at the moment about things I'm thinking of at the moment.

Interesting book I read years ago was The Commissar Vanished (as best I recall), that was a study of the photographs of various Communist Party officials that were air-brushed out of the photographs taken with Uncle Joe. Well, it depends on the standards you have for "great" oration.
If you think great means "emotionally compelling" and filled with empty platitudes that make you feel special, then he's great. He's got that vocal tone and very carefully and exhaustively practiced patterns so he sounds good, in short bursts.
If you think great means "filled with information and memorable" then he's awful.
If you think great means "true and extemporaneous and folksy" then he's execrable.

I was always amazed that Gen. Georgy Zhukov was never taken on a Fredo boat ride on some distant lake.
The guy was the real hero of the war against Germany and all of his troops loved him.
Such adoration can prove to be fatal when that adoration eclipses that of the dictator himself.
Zhukov lived until 1974 and died from a stroke. Aside from the fact that the guy was worthless communist bastard and he gave himself a Victory over Japan Medal, he was 100 times more of a man than Josephine Stalin.
