Seems like you intended to say "We're not going to make America great again, America was never that great," because that's a coherent statement where all the parts of it reinforce the same meaning. Also seems like if you had meant to say "America has always been great," but had a "speak-o" and said "America was never that great," the audible gasps of shock from even your leftwing supporters would have alerted to you that you had misspoken. Yeah, the loud gasps of shock should have alerted you. (Video link.) Also, you went on to say "We have not reached greatness, we will reach greatness" when your various Democrat client-groups get more free stuff from Daddy Sugar government. But no. It turns out it was Opposite Day and he was saying the exact opposite of what he meant to say. An aside here: Maybe my hearing is off by I didn't note gasps of shock so much as hooting of "You go, Girl!" Normally, when normal people are involved, something as patently offensive as "this country we all live in sucks" would draw boos and hisses. But that's not what happened. The collective response was one of disbelief that he said what they all agreed was true but were too afraid (and politically savvy) to say. They cheered his response with some overt disbelief, but they didn't disagree, walk-out, or condemn. He just amplified what they thought in a very clumsy way and rallied.

Per reporter Amy Chosik, who covered the Hillary campaign, this bit was used with donors and it worked for her. She was used to getting laughs (IIRC, there are laughs in the video of her saying it). Rephrasing it would indicate she knew what she was saying was awful -- she didn't, she really believes that at least 25% country is too stupid to be redeemable.

In the old days, politicians would get away with this constantly, because not everything they said was recorded or broadcast, so he could say totally contradictory things at different times to different groups, and no one would ever know.
But in the modern world -- not possible. Everything you say will eventually make it online for the whole world to see. So you have to craft every speech -- even a speech to a specialized pressure group -- as if it was being given to the whole world. Because the whole world will eventually hear it.
I'm reminded of the all-time classic instance of this:
When Yasser Arafat was given the Nobel Peace Prize, he said in stilted English at the UN, "I will do my best to keep peace with the Israelis." Then just a few hours later, he went back home and gave a speech in Ramallah, where he said (in Arabic), "Kill the Jews! I tricked the stupid infidels into a ceasefire, just as they were winning! Hahaha! Now we will regroup and drive the Jews into the sea and destroy Israel forever! Allah Ackbar!"
In a rar case of someone committing actual journalism, there was an MSM report about what he said in his second speech, never imagining that the infidels would ever hear it.

I don't know what it's going to taste like but it smells heavenly. Should be delicious, except for the minor disaster with the meatloaf when the shaker top came off the bottle of Worchestershire sauce. She's a bit spicy.
No ranch dressing and no whiskey...at least not in the glaze. Also, no shellac, no lacquer. Real baked potatoes (thanks for the reminder, PuddinHead).
Dinner will be at 5:30 Central.

NYS has some of the worst voter turnout of any state.
Cuomo won with about 22pct of the eligible vote only to be outdone by Warren Wilhelm, aka Bill 'The Red' DiBlasio who won with a whopping 14pct of the eligible vote.
One of the great problems is that GOP voters, especially in blue states are exceptionally lazy and unmotivated, largely because the GOP in these states are extraordinarily pathetic.

And it's all just as circumstantial and based on hearsay from admittedly criminal witnesses.
Gates plays horribly in front of juries. And the standard that the defendant had to knowingly break the law under a standard that's beyond a reasonable doubt is a high bar usually reserved for direct evidence.
There is a reason most of these cases settle out of court.
