You can get into the details of Mussolini and Speer's economic policies for example.
They are very similar to FDR's, and generally align with the current economic policies of the current left.
At the highest level the means of production will continue to be held by the private sector...so long as the private sector acts in the ways the government demands.
But this gets into the origins of fascism, which is properly understood as an international socialist heresy. Mussolini disagreed with the notion one could be a socialist and a nationalist and he broke with the majority of socialists over this point.
Obviously he would come to power in Italy and implement his ideas as did others in Europe...but considering international and national socialism as polar opposites is flat out wrong - the better comparison would be say Catholics and Protestants. Sure they disagree on plenty of things...but compare them to Buddhists or Atheists...

I did, too - and not too long ago (early aughts). I graduated just before Obama was elected but when the campaign was in full swing. The madness set in quickly about March of '08. It was like he came in with a magic wand and banished open - but opposed - discussion on campus. I don't know exactly what it was or why it happened or how his personality immediately surged through the halls of academia, but it happened before my eyes in my small northeastern liberal arts college.
It's a good thing I graduated when I did. I wouldn't make it through now.

When I was in college (UC Berkeley!) a "few" years ago, I had an absolutely fantastic instructor who taught me a tremendous amount, and was scrupulously down-the-middle. I follow him on twitter lo these many years later, and he is a rabid leftist. But he knew to keep that shit out of the classroom.

Good question. Even when I was in college, I had an extremely left-wing political science professor who was actually fair, and rewarded good reasoning and writing. I got As in his classes, and he ended up being my senior thesis adviser as well. Got an A on that too. I don't know what happened to professors like that, who could put their personal politics aside.

And it is going to be worse once the new lake by us is filled up. There are thousands of hogs living in the 16,000 acres where the new lake will be and they will have to go someplace else once the lake starts filling up.

I was with my buddy when he hit a 300+ pound boar hard with 7.62. Shot placement was just right; probably actually missed the heart but through the lungs.
(Hog heart and lungs are weirdly forward, for those who have never seen them.)
It went a solid 1000 yards before it laid down.
They're incredibly athletic. They can come up out of a wallow and just jump up the bank. I love stalking them but it's not something to do unprepared.

I think people are forgetting that Texas is big....very big and there are millions of hogs running around. Plus they are mean and crafty for the most part and usually only come out at night. You do not want to hunt them alone ad you had better bring a $hit ton of ammo because they travel in herds of up to 30.
IMO it is physically and practically impossible to wipe them out. Sows usually have two litters a year with 6 hogs. And they start reproducing at 6 months.

At least a couple of counties in central TX offered a bounty on hogs
this summer. I haven't heard if it was effective but I expect not. One
thing for non-TX folks to remember is that there is essentially no
public land open for hunting here. You need to get access to private
land and not every land owner is anxious to have a bunch of people
shooting on his property when he's trying to farm or run cattle on it.
If the number of people willing to pay to hunt hogs were enough to
control the population then it wouldn't be a problem.

Pretty much the same here and in GA where I grew up. Most of the woods are owned by huge tree companies and they make money by leasing the lands out to hunting clubs. The farmers who allow hunting have found this money making scheme as well. so all land is either posted or controlled by hunting clubs.

I think the outfits that trap them in large corralls are way more effective, but they get fewer views on youtube.
I've wondered about figuring out a way to trap them, transport them to pens, feed them out for a bit, and slaughter them.
Somebody would already be doing it if it were cost effective, I'm sure. It's an awful lot of free range meat.

Which is why a lot of university ag departments use them for studies on genetics. You can inbreed and linebreed them quickly to determine passing on traits, genes, etc. without having to wait a couple of years for each generation.
It always amazed me when farmer friends of ours whose kids raised hogs for the fairs would get this cute little piglet in April and by August, the thing was 200 lbs. And several 200 lb hogs rooting around the soil can cause just incredible destruction, like having someone ditch witching an area every day.

Bring in professional hunters to harvest the hogs, meat goes to market, split the profits.
Because this isn't being done, it suggests that the market for pork is already being met by low-cost commercial hog farms.
So what is needed is an advertising campaign to create a market. And everyone on youtube who has a pet pig would be against the idea.

And the origin of the Razorbacks was in the late 19th century, when one of the Rockefellers had a dream of creating a huge European-style hunting estate up in the Ozarks, and he fenced off about 10,000 acres and stocked it with a big pile of critters, including some European Wild Boars just like they used to hunt in the middle ages. You know, the kind of boars that had huge tusks and could get up to 900 pounds.
Boars being what they are, they quickly ripped out part of the fence and escaped to breed throughout the Ozarks, and were pretty good at outcompeting most of the native fauna. Probably because they're just too damned mean for anything to mess with. So it's kind of a real-life Jurassic Park gone wrong story.

That is wishful thinking on their part. Having clerked for a judge a jury note can mean anything from 'Can we go to lunch?' to clarification on one of the instructions, to asking what the lawyers get out of this because they are having an argument based on a TV show.

I looooove pig roasts. Sadly though, I went to one this past weekend at the VFW and it was a bust. The meat was dry, and every piece I got had gristle in it. So disappointed. Went back for a second time hoping for a better result, but no, same thing. Even the skin was hard as rock.
I think the cook over-did it big time, and the guy cutting it up didn't know what he was doing.

I've seen documentaries on this technique. The problem is getting the hogs to come in, with babies to the bait areas , then being able to sneak in and close in the pens. It's dangerous and doesn't work as well as one thinks it should.
Michigan has an open season all year round on feral hogs and everyone is encouraged to shoot them on sight. Most states have seen what has happened when feral hog problems are allowed to go on unchecked for a while and they don't want it happening in their own state.

Martha McCallum interviewed Kristin Davis, the Manhattan Madam, last night about her interrogation by Mueller and his Grand Jury( I don't understand how Mueller can have a grand jury when he isn't a federal prosecutor) over what she knows about Roger Stone. Stone and his wife rent half a duplex to her and are godparents to her 2 year old. Cough, ahem.
She was very vocal about how Mueller and the grand jury , who have now been together for months, are quite buddy buddy, laughing and joking during questioning. She found it very disturbing, she defended Stone and was quietly critical of the Mueller witch hunt. Said that since it's a grand jury, she was not allowed to have any defense lawyers with her, yet there she was answering questions from government lawyers.

When it became apparent that I was not a just a Republican, but *gasp* a conservative, he pulled me aside and told me he'd be calling on me in every class period, because my viewpoint was so rarely heard in his PoliSci classes.
He then worked to get me a job in the State Capitol working with (R) legislators, to relate my experience in class (I had two semesters with him).
He would take me and other conservative students to lunches to debate with him personally.
This was only 10-11 years ago.

And in fact, a conviction makes it less likely that Manafort could give them any cooperation - the leverage that Mueller supposedly has is that he could strike a plea bargain, but once there's a conviction and a sentence on the books, there's no bargaining left to do, except for a pardon.

I hate in most every way the idea that we now have to create a politically safe version of everything for conservatives, but the crap in the banking/financial services sector has to stop.
I'm already in the process of leaving Citi over their nonsense with gun shops, and now I have to leave Mastercard as well, which I use a ton because Sam's Club.
I hope he wins and we can stop this crap once and for all.

Probably the Mossad did not bother with him because he was a low level SS flunkie, and may have already been jailed in 1945-1950, when the SS they could round up were mass jailed.
Recently, a 90 odd year old bookkeeper for the SS in Germany came to the attention of Nazi hunters, and that guy:
1. had already been imprisoned briefly in 1945-1950, and
2. only came to someone's attention because he spoke up in denunciation of Holocaust deniers, testifying that he was there and did the bookkeeping.
Of course, the leaders of that evil movement should have been prosecuted and executed, and they were mostly, with the other ones who escaped now dead.
But an honest question must be asked: how far down the chain of command does one go? Janitors? Bookkeepers?

no, it is the Selective Prosecution of an old (maybe) crime they already looked at long ago, and decided against prosecuting.
And given the massive Hillary crimes (and so many other) for which Mueller was the fixer, this is just criminal malicious prosecution ... punishment for being attached to Trump, a threat/warning to any others that dare stand with Trump/patriotism.

As somebody who grew up in the 70s, I am always amazed at how clean costal waters are these days. This picture would not have been possible back then.
Three good things the EPA has done are getting lead out of gasoline, emissions controls for autos, and grants to eliminate combined sewer outflows and install secondary wastewater treatment. Improved treatment of wastewater has transformed riverine and coastal environments.
