Kreplach, I believe you need a new hobby. It's one thing to feel strongly about a government offiicials job performance and to state it, but you are obsessed with Sessions and Mueller. You often post the exact same post screaming about one or both of them on several threads, from the early AM thread to the ONT. It's not that your opinion of either of them or of the subject is wrong on its face or the facts in your post are suspect, but it's becoming a daily repetitive hysteria that has sunk into comments such as hoping someone gets cancer and dies.
Get a grip.

In the main they were not. When people talk about Russian election "interference," what they mean is that the GRU hacked the DNC and Podesta emails, and released them on the Internet, thereby politically damaging Hillary, and perhaps affecting the outcome of the election (I have my doubts about that).
This is not disinformation. It is distribution of true, but stolen information. That happens a lot, and when the information is politically useful to the speaker, he focuses on the politically damaging nature of the true facts, rather than the shady means by which those facts were obtained.
(Of course, there were less significant "disinformation" efforts from Russian sources in the form of pathetic memes and fake news stories that no one took seriously.)
Most alarming to me, however, is that the most significant potential Russian disinformation play in 2016 may have been the Steele dossier. Given that so little of the dossier has panned out, I think it's quite possible that Russian intelligence fed Steel's sources false info about Trump in an attempt to have that bad info fed back into the American public and further sow chaos in the American election.
If true, it's the most fantastic success of the entire Russian operation in 2016. It also seems like one of the better explanations of the Steele dossier's many falsehoods, the other being that Russians just make sh!t up for $$$. Of course, the MSM is more interested in the never-ending task of trying to prove the Steele dossier true, rather than concluding that after two years of trying, it's likely false, and it sure would be nice to know who gave us the bad info.
If the theory (and it's just that--a theory) that the bad info came from the Russia govt is true, well, Trump has been the VICTIM of a great Russian intelligence plan rather than the co-conspirator in one. Which would be one of the great ironies in modern American history.
