18 From what i recall back in the day Japanese commuter trains where so packed some time the doors had problems closing.

I guess they are counting on lots of sleeveless strap hangers?

A female friend of mine at the time also complained that train riders where more then a bit "handsie" and it was impossible to tell who had pinched her with the train cars so full.

With their aging demographics it will be interesting to see how much longer these trends hold.

51 I was in Japan about twenty years ago and one of the things one you did not do then was walk around without a shirt.
The Japanese were extremely offended by armpit hair.
Japanese movies edited for public viewing usually had the armpit hair in certain scenes but didn't actually edit out any nudity.
They edited out pubic hair but if there was no pubic hair they didn't edit anything.

A Republican lawmaker in the U.S. House of Representatives introduced a bill on Monday calling for a carbon tax, saying he hoped the legislation would at the very least renew a U.S. debate on climate change that has languished for a decade.

Representative Carlos Curbelo, a member of the House tax committee who faces a tough re-election bid in Florida, said the legislation, called the "Market Choice Act," enjoys small but growing support among Republicans, who he said have been known for their "knee-jerk" rejection of carbon tax proposals in recent years.

60 Wakino is still a relatively new company and it is looking for models for its ad campaigns. Those confident about flashing their blemish-free armpits may want to check it out for a career in modeling.

In America, the blemish-full armpits would be suing for discrimination. Also, our feminazis would be complaining that they get no ads because you can't see the ad for the forest.

78 I just watched the Gary Sanchez pittiful display from yesterday. Man, he is a terrible receiving catcher. He has a cannon of an arm, but he sucks really really bad behind the plate. Its like he doesn't care.

Anyway, Yankees should trade him and some value in return for him. It's more important to have a good to great receiver behind the plate that pitchers and players trust than a liability. He is a liability.

What a diaappoinent.

(Also I caught my entire life and played some college ball before injury. I played several years on travelling teams in wood bat leagues as well across the country. So yeah, Gary sucks as a catcher)

Japanese society is weird. We were stationed there for three years and never really got used to the customs.

Men and women used the public restrooms interchangeably. More than a few times I walked into the "mens" room at the train station to find a woman squatting over the open toilet doing her business. Oh and there are no stalls, all of the toilets are open pits in the ground with no actual toilet. men would also use the women's rest room without regard to who was in there.

Nudity was very open in public and on television. There were festivals and parades for fertility and all of the images you can imagine for that. Candy and cakes for the kids in the shape of a penis and vagina and rituals that left little to the imagination.

Sexual fetishes were on open display with sexual comic books on sale nearly everywhere the most disturbing one being "hentai" with very young children.

It was a very bizarre place to me.

They seem to be using the same bad-faith arguments. Such as countering the case of why wasn't Hillary or the DNC mentioned in the FISA application with the bland observation that Steele's name is not in the application, but "Source #1"

And it's all the same immediate obliviousness to the fact that the FISA application can refer to "Candidate #2" and "Political Party #2", but didn't.

If I can remember the gist of it, he said the "high" isn't really all that high, it just made him feel really really good, like everything was right with the world and he was the way he always wanted to be. And that he could function just fine, and at first there was no hangover, no letdown. And so he did again, and again - and after only a couple of weeks, all of a sudden he had to start taking twice as much to get the same feeling. So he decided to quit - but then found out that it had already changed him to the point that UNLESS he took it, he was the lowest of the low, hating himself, hating life, caring about nothing but getting back on that high. And then he realized he was a hard core addict, one who would sacrifice anything, do anything to get back on that high. And it all played out in less than 30 days.

I once defended a guy who went from ordinary husband and father to wheel man in a drug hit. He described using meth. When your high, your confident, smart, and powerful. When you come down, you can either deal with the shithole your life has become while you were confident, smart, and powerful or you can become confident, smart, and powerful again. Plus, if you have a quarter ounce of meth in your pocket, you've got chicks, money and respect.

236 Just perused the $50 million+ lawsuit filed in Minnesota against the muzzie cop who shot (for no reason) the unarmed and pajama-clad woman who'd called 911 to report a possible sexual assault in the neighborhood.

The complaint alleges that both cops (the driver cop was just 25) were inadequately trained and both deliberately violated the police department's directives concerning when to turn on their body cams. No allegation that hiring standards were lowered for the muzzie cop. It also alleges that the police dept's psychiatrist who tested and approved both cops for service was completely unqualified for the job, and performed inadequate (as in, only one test) psychological testing. It also alleges that the entire police department has been stonewalling the criminal investigation of the shooter, and that the driver cop (and other cops) engaged in a conspiracy to change their stories about the events leading up to the shooting in an effort to protect the muzzie cop from criminal and civil liability.

The Power Line lawyer (who is in Minnesota) who posted the story predicts that the lawsuit will be settled because the city does not want the case to go to trial. Reach for your wallets, Minnesota taxpayers, because this settlement will be big.

Don't kid yourself. The feminists are starting to get traction. Television stations can't show porn at dinnertime any more, and it's a slippery slope from there.

They have the same problem we have in the west - Married men still have all their traditional responsibilities, but all the benefits of marriage have been removed. So they don't get married and they don't have families.

I used to worry about this, but then realized a 2/3 vote in the Senate is also required. With the shape Trump is getting this Economy into, never mind the rest of the Country, I don't see 2/3 of the Senate voting themselves out of a job in their next run.
