Alas though, the deal-killer is the soul-killing look of disaffected disdain on her face. If that's how she sees her man, he's doomed before he even begins.

Faticida, the death of fate or the killing of fate? The olive branches that were offered to her bound in ribbon have been cast on the floor.

This is wild-assed speculation, but I always need to start with a theory if only to have it proven wrong.

Yeah. Academic art at this time is very derivative. That was one of the major issues Modernists had with it.

Here's a self-portrait of Leighton in front of the Panathenaic Frieze from the Parthenon. He's is literally telling us his work pays homage to ancient Greece.

This is a problem ... since The Golden Ratio is used in architecture both ancient and modern, and can be found all the time in nature.

181 Some (former intel) guy, (sorry, I forget who) made a strong point about Trump's lawyer and his recording of Trump. Since the lawyer gets to choose what parts of the recording gets released. he can select parts that seem more damaging to Trump, but (perhaps) withhold the part where Trump says "Oh no way I want to do that, it would be illegal and unethical".

We already saw the FBI has done that in redacting things that were "embarrassing" (likely illegal) to them, when it had nothing to do with sources and methods.

That corrupt withholding of evidence should itself be a criminal act. they claim to be complying, but in fact redacted the smoking guns under the lie that "sources and methods must be protected", when they aren't using the "ongoing 5 year investigation, can't talk about it". Of course then the fake Mueller inquisition just wraps up all his fellow criminals in his own fake investigation and they all get protected, if not handed immunity outright.

Treason, sedition, whatever ... hand em high. And do it quickly, no releasing the evidence in 25 years, or smashing it all with hammers.

This story says that Peter Strzok's wife, Melissa Hodgman, was promoted
to deputy director of the SEC's enforcement division (which makes
prosecution recommendations to DOJ for financial crimes) just hours
after investigators in NY started looking at the Hillary e-mails found
on Weiner's laptop, many of which are believed to relate to Clinton
Foundation financial crimes.

If this is true, it's mighty convenient.

Posted by: Bandersnatch at July 23, 2018 10:17 AM (fuK7c)

Trajan's column was part of a larger complex known as the Forum of Trajan, which included a basilica, two libraries, the Column, and statues of himself in various triumphal poses.

https://tinyurl.com/y7olb9ya

The Column's frieze is interesting because it give a detailed account of the conquest of Dacia and is one of the best records of Roman military and camp life. It cannot be seen all at once, and the story is mean to unfold like frames in a comic strip. But because of its position in the Forum complex, the entire frieze could not really be read completely, unless with great difficulty. The base of the Column was supposed to be Trajan's tomb but I don't know if his ashes were actually interred there.

281 I could be wrong, but I'm in the camp that believes that Strzok and Page were indeed having an affair. Just because we haven't seen any lovey-dovey messages - for which I am grateful - doesn't mean they don't exist. I would think the only text messages released would be ones pertinent to the investigation.

Or, it's possible they didn't communicate in that manner via text message because they were on FBI phones. I know, I know, but I think it would be more embarrassing to them to be found having an affair in the FBI than to have discussions about meetings within the FBI, no matter the purpose.

I could bite on that explanation if I thought embarrassment was a deterrent for either of them. I haven't seen much that suggests either has much shame, and frankly, Sztrok (and Page, for that matter) are both sufficiently unattractive (and feckless enough) that they might see social upside in the notoriety that attends infidelity. Some people will illicitly screw just so others will notice that they can, in fact, find a willing partner besides their spouse...

Dunno. Strzok's wife at least appears to be a fellow beltway bandit. Rocking the boat now may be seen as being treasonous to the Cause.

As for the husband, he could be rolling with it, or not willing to risk losing custody and being kicked out of the house.

IMO he is a psychopath (in the clinical sense). Trying to figure out WHY he did something is difficult, because his brain is just wired differently.

You must look at his actions through two extra filters.

1. Is it something he even cares about (ie, how it affects his family).

2. Is it something he thinks he can 'manage' and get away with (most psychopaths truly believe they are superior to almost all people).

crime Carter Page was supposed to have committed. There's a lot of
"boogity boo!" and hand waving whenever he's mentioned, but nobody ever
names an actual crime.

And as far as I have been able to tell, he has always been
completely honest, both in his public interviews and his private ones.
Hard to charge someone with lying when they have always told the the
truth.

Yet he was the subject of three separate FISA warrants alleging he was engaging in espionage work for the Russians. Odd that he hasn't been charged with any crime. Something seems amiss to me. I wonder what it could be?..................................

351 I've seen that exchange shrugged off as Strzok just playing the hero for his lover - if she asked him to bring him the moon, he'd have replied "As you wish!"

The non-lovers version of that exchange is: conspiracy to determine the election results.

That doesn't work. Because he was in a position to carry out what he claimed. When a boy claims he'll bring his girl the moon, its obviously false because he's in no position to do so. Its just bold promises. In this case, he could do it, so being in an affair just makes it worse: I'll do this for you, baby... and I can.

This meme comes from the fact that Crowd Strike report was received (accepted) by the IC. This does not mean they accepted the findings, they just accepted receipt of the report. So, technically, it is true they accepted the dossier. Why Army, Navy, Air Force or Coast Guard Intelligence is implied as accepting it is quite bizarre - but is sounds like unity on the document. I doubt seriously that any military intel ever actually received a copy.

Sure, but that's not evidence of anything but desperate need to maintain the narrative. It doesn't make sense even out of context.

Me either. It is deeply frustrating to watch the criminal and the evil continue to succeed, to see no justice done. This is why stories like Batman and Death Wish have such cultural resonance. People want justice, and they want it at even great cost.

The process is slow, but without someone strong showing leadership and in front of the world explaining and giving some sense of movement, it feels nonexistent. And based on recent experience (not to mention a life of observation) maybe it is nonexistent. We need movement and some real, tangible results to have any confidence of any justice whatsoever. And so far: nothing.

391 The importance of McCabe's firing had nothing to do with his pension - you have got to realize that money on any level is an absolutely trivial matter in connection with these proceedings. In the case of McCabe, he and his wife are already millionaires, so it doesn't even matter to him.

The reason it was so important for McCabe to be fired before he retired is that he was slotted to be the character witness backing up James Comey in Mueller's hoped for Obstruction of Justice charge against Trump, or barring that, Comey's ace in the hole to get him out of any charges or claims made against him. BUT - as soon as McCabe was Fired for Cause, and that Cause being "Lack of Candor", his value as a witness in any future proceeding dropped to less than zero. Because of that, his credibility and his involvement in any of this can be brought up as relevant background info in any future legal proceeding. Meaning all of Comey's backup was taken out of the game when McCabe was fired.

THAT is why it happened - and THAT is the only reason it was important that it happened. Worrying about money is like worrying about what color James Comey's suit was.

Sure the criminal referral is gonna haunt him til the end of his days. Jury will find him not guilty in two seconds and the DOJ will wet fart the prosecution and say oh we tried.

If they really hated him the process alone would have put him and his family in the poor house by now. But no. Refired (new term in government HR manual) and soaking up the sun.

I believe that right now we're too close to the election, and too many assets are still in enemy hands for our side to make a successful offensive move yet. Look at how hard it is to get a conservative judge through the Senate - even so-called conservatives like Tim Scott are ready to stick a knife in Trump's back the instant they get an excuse to do so.

Coming out of this election with a stronger position in the Senate and still in control of the House, even if just barely, is the most important thing for the next 4 months. Everything must be focused on whether it advances or hinders that goal. after the election, then Trump will have more Flexibility, as the saying goes.
