The Morning Rant

talking ape.jpg
"So the hard left, which is increasingly encompassing mainstream Democrats, now says it's OK to punch a Nazi. But that just raises the question, who's a Nazi? This a serious question. If they're going to be advocating violence, they'd better have the permissabilty to do so well defined. But of course, they don't. Ask them who a 'Nazi' is and the usual slurs come out: racist, bigot, homophobia, white supremacist, ad nauseum. So the more you argue about it with them, the more it comes down to is that a Nazi is anybody with whom the hard left disagrees. Because every disagreement is not because of honest policy differences, but because of racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. Yes, I know this is stupid. Yes, I know this won't end well for them if they continue down that path. But they don't see it, and the reason is because there used to be no downside to their provocations. Back in the day, if the progs called a conservative a racist, he would cower, try to explain that he wasn't a racist, and ask for forgiveness if he was a racist and didn't know it. But now, I think that's done. I think most normal Americans are tired of being called racists by the prog PC Gestapo and are simply ignoring them. The progs, starting to realize that their slurs and cuss words are all used up, are thinking, Gee, maybe we should be violent now. That'll show 'em. Again, if they go that route, it won't end well for them. But there appears to be nothing stopping them from goose-stepping into the abyss."

27 The thing about the "racism" slur (and all the other "-phobias") is that Trump doesn't play this game - at all. He does not defend himself (stepping into MSM/Dem Kafkatrap) nor does he go out of his way to show he's *not* racist by buying into whatever grievance demand the Dems are promoting.

Nope, he just does stuff that elevates ALL people and then brags about how the results are great for various demographics. SO - not a handout to a group to compete with the Dems, just: This is what happens when you see everyone as citizens and then go about making life better for all citizens.

I doubt seriously that she'll get even ONE of her bills out of Committee, much less even passed by a largely Republican House.

But, it'll sure be an entertaining shit show while it lasts!

93 i was thinking some more on how we have been comparing, properly I think, the current social activism on the left to the wave that hit in 1967 - 1968, and I've realized one huge difference.

One of the big attractions of the 60's hippie/radical movement, maybe the biggest and the one that sure brought in a whole lot of guys and kept them there, was the promise of Free Sex for Everyone! And not just Free, but a Whole Lot of It, All the Time. Kinda reminds ya of why so many yout's signed up for it.

So now today, the SJW's are trying as hard as they can to ignite the same movement - except their mantra is NO SEX for anyone, anytime, unless its gay sex maybe.

Well good luck with that.

99 24 He may be Never Trump now, but Goldberg's "Liberal Fascism" was spot on when it said that fascism, at the time the book was published, was nothing more than whatever those hurling the accusation around didn't like.
Posted by: Patrick at July 13, 2018 11:28 AM (klmXw)

Which Orwell had said a half-century before.

But Goldberg just dodged the matter of those who were at least called "fascist" and were clearly not on the left, like Salazar and Franco.

He also ignored the fact that, in real life, Fascist and Nazis weren't always on the same side.

The book has some value, in that he brought up a lot that has been forgotten. But almost all of it was covered in books I've got from pre-1975. And like everything he writes, it's oversimplified to push his own template of the world.

There is zero evidence that Page and Stozk were lovers.

The lovers cover story was devised so that they couldn't be construed as forming a conspiracy and they could claim their back and forth was pillow talk.

So, unless I'm presented with text and emails of "pillow talk" or receipts from the "No Tell Motel" the "lovers" angle is a cover story to hide conspiracy.

In their emails and texts they confide in each other, talk about the situation, talk about others involved in the conspiracy, Andrew McCabe for instance, talk about stopping the target of the conspiracy, etc.

Any fucking prosecutor worth his salt could take this to a grand jury and get an indictment, then to a jury and send these fucks to FPMITAP.

The faux interview shtick is old.
It's done almost nightly on the various comedy news shows. The more I hear about what he did to Palin, and his recent response letter to her dripping with snark, the more disgusted I am. This is malicious, not comedy, particularly the fake wounded vet trick. May this kill the genre.

151 >>>Back in the day, if the progs called a conservative a racist, he would cower, try to explain that he wasn't a racist, and ask for forgiveness if he was a racist and didn't know it.

The left makes hypothetical psychology/mind reading ad-hominem attacks against conservatives.

What happens if conservatives don't respond in kind by making the same attacks against leftists? Leftists do not conclude this is because conservatives have integrity and decency and just want to stick to the facts. They conclude it's because they can't. Leftists are morally pure, and conservatives secretly know they are racist, hence their pathetic protests. Going on the defensive is seen as weakness and an admission of guilt by the left.

I think the solution is to not dignify such accusations with a response. Just make psychological judgments against the left. And the difference with us is that there is evidence that such judgments are true.

Leftists who are minorities are envious because their shitty cultures actually are inferior and they cannot humbly accept that.

Leftists who are white are racists who want to be surrounded by submissive, subservient brown people instead of peers who might not give them the obeisance and deference they so deserve.

Some leftists just want to feel narcissistic about virtue signaling. Some do it for graft, as politicians like Clinton.

Assert the truth that there are NO noble impulses in ANY leftist movement. Psychoanalyze and shame these assholes. Don't open your eyes wide in shock, hold up your hands and apologize for something you never did. Don't let them introduce self-doubt into your minds. Once they detect they've gotten to you, they'll be like sharks smelling blood in the water.

After Palin caught on to what Cohen was up to, she asked the producer for transportation to the airport (apparently part of the interview agreement included transportation service). Palin claimed that Team Cohen deliberately sent her to the wrong airport so that she would miss her flight. I do agree we need to ignore it, but that means just make your point. Adopting their tactics makes sense only when it's helpful. We should not all adopt the Strzok smirk, for instance. And certainly the antefa tactics are backfiring, as anyone could see they would, who remembered 1968.

Guarantee they are hoping the Russians don't show. They already tried this stunt with the firm that ran a few ads on Facebook. So they showed up and Meuller's team scrambled to try to stop discovery. Its like watching the three stooges paint a house.

He had been questioned for a couple of hours at that point. It was getting near the end. Had just finished with I think a republican questioner. It was like someone said above, the crazy leaked out spontaneously. He wasn't concentrating, he relaxed a bit, and bang. There's also a couple of screen shots of his facial expressions during the hearing at various times and he looks pretty nutty. Anyone can look bad in a micro expression, but he looks demonic.

You have three options, as far as I can tell:

1) Trump is uncharacteristically unwilling or unable to deal with a spectacularly non-performing subordinate, in this area and in this area alone;

2) Sessions has Trump's approval and there is some sort of secret plan or at the very least things are going the way Trump wants them to;

3) OR, the information about what the situation up in DC we are getting from the press, both MSM and alt/conservative media, is critically incomplete and the situation is much different than we have been led to believe, so our expectations for how people should be acting are based on fake news and thus doomed to disappointment.

So, is Trump an incompetent executive, a a chestmaster, or are we just in a bubble? Or a combination of these things?

==============

Its not one. And as for three, well, our expectations are always unrealistic even with good information so meh.

I think two is the best case scenario, and in general I am suspicious of best case scenarios.

HOWEVER, we are pretty much living through a best case scenario with Trump right now, soo food for thought. It'd be nice if Hillary were in Gitmo already, but in reality that is beyond the best case scenario.

Posted by: simplemind at July 13, 2018 01:21 PM (C6xeQ)

668 Not sure, but based on quick look at others' quick reads of the indictment - no forensic evidence. Just the word of "Company 1" (Crowdstrike?). If correct, this is an unbelievably lame indictment. There must be more to the "evidence".

And Rosie briefed Trump last week, think he said.

Who knows. I'm thinking the Russians - who tend to be very simplistic and unsophisticated in their analysis of foreign goings-on (like many in comments sections) - are having a fair amount of trouble in cramming all this into their usual boxes. If Americans with a background are puzzled, the poor Russkis must be especially frustrated.

That was my initial reaction...but bcz it doesn't sound right, I decided to look up the article.

Turns out, it is not nearly as bad as I thought. In fact, it's pretty much nothing.

The headline refers to a one time skit they did responding to the insults DJT leveled at them. I haven't watched it yet, but now that I know that is the extent of what this is about, it is a nothing burger.

What was of interest to me, was Kimmel was the other person Trump insulted...yet he did not participate. Maybe he is getting a clue.
