Democracy Dies in Doltishness: Washington Post Quotes Onion Parody Site "The Clickhole" In, Get This, Anti-Trump Article

In an article about some British people trying to make Green Day's 2004 release "American Idiot" chart again to sync with Trump's trip, the Washington Post quoted from a Clickhole article "written by" Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, confessing the song had been about George Bush.

If the clickbait retard writing this article wasn't a clickbait retard, she'd've realized that The Clickhole is a parody site and this article is obviously a parody. Everyone knew "American Idiot" was about George Bush, as you'd expect from a poppy fake punk band.

Enough Time Has Passed To Reveal George W. Bush Was The ‘American Idiot’ (By Billie Joe Armstrong)

Billie Joe Armstrong - Musician
2/28/17 12:09pm

When my band Green Day released our album American Idiot almost 13 years ago, we knew we were lobbing a grenade into the lap of the culture. With the fallout from 9/11 and the Iraq War revealing deep divisions in American society, our confrontational lyrics and attitude clearly touched a nerve, if our 15 million records sold are any indication. But now that enough time has passed to let the dust and controversy settle, I finally feel comfortable revealing that the "American Idiot" I sang about was none other than President George W. Bush.

Don’t believe me? Go take a listen to “American Idiot” with this new info in mind, and I think you’ll find it all starts to finally click.

I like to think that the song, and the album as a whole, takes on new meaning with that final piece in place. When I sang, "Information age of hysteria / It's calling out to idiot America," I wasn’t just calling out America in general--I was calling out President Bush's America. The "alien nation, where everything isn't meant to be okay" wasn’t just some frightening hypothetical: It was our own country! And when I sang, "'Sieg heil' to the president gas man" on "Holiday" later in the album, keen-eared listeners might rightly suspect that I was once again referring to George Bush. Not very kindly, I might add!

As BEN ROTHLISBURGER might say, IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE HE SAYS HE'S REVEALING A 13 YEAR OLD SECRET WHICH WAS NEVER A SECRET!!!

Yeah, the "'Sieg Heil' to the president gas man" might have been a teeny tiny little clue that this was about Bush.

But the Washington Post, being written by a bunch of young idiots and edited by a bunch of middle age idiots, thought this was real, and cited it for yet another clickbait #Resist article.

111 With the fallout from 9/11 and the Iraq War revealing deep divisions in American society, our confrontational lyrics and attitude clearly touched a nerve, if our 15 million records sold are any indication. But now that enough time has passed to let the dust and controversy settle, I finally feel comfortable revealing that the "American Idiot" I sang about was none other than President George W. Bush.

LOL. Gee ... who would've thunk it?

People buy records for the music. Nobody really gives a shit about the lyrics. And it's never been a secret that the left hates America. They hate America the same way they hate Daddy.

Posted by: ThePrimordialOrderedPair at July 11, 2018 08:43 PM (7jE3W)

112 I truly saddens me that the Left's gone beyond the bounds of parody.

They've taken all the fun out of mocking them. It's like playing a prank on a mentally challenged toddler. No fun. Fills you with self-reproach.

Those responsible for the dumbing down of America have one more crime to answer for.

I was on a plane from the East Coast back to LA that featured a young black couple in front of me, and an older black guy across the aisle from me, all of us in first class (don't judge; someone else was paying), so I was perforce kind of in the middle of their conversation.

It turned out that the younger guy was being flown to LA to record a rap album, while the older guy - replete with pimp hat - was apparently some big shot rapper, (whom amazingly enough I didn't know), judging by the groveling done by the younger black guy as the older guy pontificated away.

They were both a bit let down when they realized I didn't have the faintest idea who they were, and couldn't possibly have cared less.

462 popular songs may control a culture ...

but they shouldn't
unless they are from the heart of informed patriots pushing the liberty and sovereign individual message. There are hints of that in many songs ... but too often they lean toward Marxist/Gaia/leftist theology ... EPA will save us, we must regulate you.

Self Reliance ... the sovereign individual ... those are high ideals, most agree, but the commie sees a way to promise such while HE will actually control "free thought".

America is Unique, individual sovereign, then states sovereign, next level is country sovereignty ... mobs (controlled by the 0.1%) want to co-opt that ideal. (control energy sure, Bush/Saudi plan)
