Good Morning Morons today is Saturday, July 7, 2018. On this day in 1456 Joan of Arc was retried and acquitted heresy 25 years after she had been burned to death. People who want religious law in the US should not forget this kind of history.

Regarding wind generated electricity in the ONT how is it that the cost of decommissioning is not factored into the costs. Nuclear power plants are required by law to factor in those costs. Could it be that wind generated electricity is some of the highest cost electricity we have and the AGW scammers are afraid to add to those costs?
Modern wind turbine generators cost between $1500 and $2000 per kilowatt for wind farms that use multiple-unit arrays of large machines. Smaller individual units cost up to $3000 per kilowatt. In good wind areas, the costs of generating power range between five and ten cents per kilowatt hour. When I retired the cost of our generation averaged over a three year period was 1.3 cents per KW. True some plants cost more. The more expensive new plants run about 2.1 cents per KW. This is the kind of shit you never hear from the MFM. Im still furious about the situation with Managort and Awan.
Manefort is essentially a political prisoner and nobody in any position to do something about it gives a shit. Awan was for all intents and purposes was running a foreign spy ring out of the Democrats IT department. He gets off scot free. Not only that but he got an immunity deal for any crimes that may be discovered. This is a huge deal that is not getting any significant pushback from the GOP. Not only do we have a two tiered justice system we have a two tiered government where Democrats can run roughshod over everything and everyone and Republicans get investigated and jailed without any crimes being named or having been convicted by a jury. This is intolerable. Posted by: Kreplach at July 07, 2018 06:19 AM (UfMVm) 32

The justification on the ban on all sales (not just alcohol) was that the Bible said the Sabbath was supposed to be a day of rest. I don't know how this gets fixed. Looks what's happening to Jim Jordan, look what they tried to do to Devin Nunes. If someone tries to do something about it, the deep state tries to take them out. Also look what happens when congress tries to do oversight, the very agencies being investigated simply refuse to comply with subpoenas and oversight. Let you or I tell the FBI or DOJ to shove their subpeona where the sun don't shine and see what happens. I just don't see how this gets fixed in any meanigful way. Would need that one pointed out to me as to where. Seems that would fall into that area where feds, keep your nose out of it. Don't like a blue law? Free to move to another county or state. The actual biblical "law" that blue laws are derived from isn't about the Sabbath being a day of rest. Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. Comes from that same Guy who gave us our rights in the first place. Blue laws unconstitutional? Would need that one pointed out to me as to where. Seems that would fall into that area where feds, keep your nose out of it. Don't like a blue law? And why are they hammering her so bad? Orin Hatch says she will be Trump's pick. I hope not, women have been a disaster on the court regardless of who picked them. _________________ An article yesterday claimed that the front-runner is Raymond Kethledge, from Michigan. Supposedly he and Trump hit it off in their in-person meeting, and Trump likes the fact that he is a mid-westerner and a regular guy, as opposed to a D.C. insider (like Brett Kavanaugh). But as link at comment #15 shows, Kethledge is weak on illegal immigration, and has written a bunch of opinions in which he goes overboard in excusing the illegal aliens' lawlessness and advocating for them to get waivers and exceptions to allow them to remain in the U.S. I hope Trump does not choose this guy, no matter how much he may personally like him. _____________________ You can replace cracked tiles (hopefully, you have spare tiles that match) by prying them up (which is not always easy) and laying new ones down. You can also fill in missing grout (again, it's best to have the same color grout, if you want it to look aesthetically pleasing). A tile guy can do it for you, or you can do it yourself. Look on YouTube for some how-to videos if you're unsure. If you have broken tiles in places where you need precise cuts, you may want to hire a pro. Replacing grout is easier now, you can get small tubes of it and fill in missing lines. A tile is a bit more of a undertaking digging out old tile and underlying grout and putting it back. Getting old sub layer is the hard part as you are building it back up so if old layer is not completely gone the new tile will be higher.

First take the grout out of the joints surrounding the cracked tiles. Big box sells scoring tools for just that. Once isolated, break out the old tile, usually small chisel, hammer, then stiff putty knife. Use "full-flex" adhesive to affix them. Grout, according to directions. If a tile cracks, there was a void under the tile. Or a screw head, or something that didn't allow it to set flat. Fix that while you're at it. Posted by: MarkY at July 07, 2018 07:38 AM (Yccrl) 144

Do tiles have to be glued down? The two broken tiles are whole and untrimmed. Can get matching grout. It would appear this is easier than I thought.
__________________ Yes, once you have the broken tiles out, you'll need to secure the new tiles to the subfloor with adhesive. And make sure you chip out all the old stuff first, or your new tiles won't lay properly. Again, YouTube has many "how to" videos that show you step by step how to do this type of chore, so watch some of those before you begin, if you're feeling unsure about anything. Also, the sales people at the hardware store can be very helpful. So if you're not sure what type/amount of tile adhesive to buy, just ask. Replacing a tile is doable for a novice I'm sure with a hammer, cold chisel. If tile is cracked already it will break easy. Use chisel to get all tile and underlying grout down to drywall or backer board layer. Glue in tile, let sit, grout around.

Cramped cabins, knocked knees, aggrieved elbows: all real problems for todays flyers. But the Federal Aviation Administration has said they aren't its problems announcing Tuesday that it will not regulate airline seat size and legroom.
the FAA said that current seat size is not a safety issue. The time it takes passengers to get out of their seats, even if those seats are relatively narrow and close together, is less than the time it takes for the emergency exits to begin functioning and for the line that begins forming in the aisle to clear Crap. It is a safety issue. Posted by: Nevergiveup at July 07, 2018 08:10 AM (Ydx5u) 211

We were discussing that on the way down her on Thursday. So what the living document position says is that gays can have the right to marry because enough of the American people changed with the times, and the constitution responded to that change in opinion. So if the American people later change their minds in significant numbers, and oppose gay marriage, the Constitution would then respond by changing again to rescind the right to gay marriage? If it's all about the 'feelz' what happens when the 'feelz' goes in a direction that the Left doesn't support? Then we go back to being strict originalists concerning keeping the changes that were made to support their positions and belief? Ah... wait. The Ratchet.. Blue laws are the alcohol sales restrictions?
Posted by: clutch at July 07, 2018 06:21 AM (kiSdp) Probably no one will see this but when my brother was stationed in Sumter, SC in the mid 1970's, no business with more than one employee was open on Sunday. When I was there in 1993 and again in 1999, the mall in town did not open until 1 PM, IIRC to give everyone the time to go to church.
