A persuasive point made by Senator John Kennedy.
“One grocery store doesn’t get so big that it lends and borrows and buys and sells from nearly every other grocery store in the country. These banks do. A grocery store also doesn’t need or get an $812.3 billion bailout from the American taxpayers,” Sen. John Kennedy

Clearing your house. an act of last resort.

How do you investigate this possible home intrusion quickly and safely? How do you navigate through your house in a way that maximizes your safety when there could be a possible attacker on the prowl?

Today we’re going to walk you through how to effectively clear your home. In the tactical world, “clearing a building” simply means investigating the premises for a suspected intruder. A building is “cleared” if you confirm the suspect isn’t there or you neutralize the threat.

They kinda do though. Some, but not all. Here's the full text of the 5th amendment:

"No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."

I think you're correct about the UTS-15 and the KSG but wrong about the sides. KSGs have that buttplate that extends below the stock, so that's on the right as you face them. I didn't know about the UTS-15, but you're correct except it looks like that could be the one on the left; it's got that huge blocky receiver that goes all the way to the muzzle.

Not first gun, just first gun here.

These people are whacked.

I must show ID, take a test ($25), take another bill or something in to prove I live in Calif, then once my gun gets here, 10 day waiting period while both the State and the Feds, oh, and COUNTY, can stop the gun sale.

Oh, and either a trigger lock, or proof of a gun safe... by producing a bill of sale as proof (yeah, like I have a bill of sale for my 25 year old gun safe).

Can you imagine the outcry if these limitations were put on abortions? or voting?

Some Rights are more equal than others.

77 I would not hold out John Kennedy as an example of anything apart from Celtic affirmative action.

He was a useless loser, a naval officer obviously derelict in his duty, and a hopeless philanderer, who became President only because his psychopathic father bought the Presidency for him, along with gross electoral fraud, he impressed Khruschev as a callow youth (which he was), which induced Khruschev to put missiles into Cuba (Cuber?) and almost started WWWIII but for Oleg Penkovsky. He then went to Dallas to shore up his dodgy changes of re-election, where he got smoked.

The end.

The second says The People, the fifth says (a) person. The first refers to Congress.

People in the US are subject to penalty for violating the laws of the US, and granted protections outlined in the same laws. They aren't bound by obligations set out for citizens, and aren't granted protections granted to citizens. I'm not a lawyer, but the distinctions seem clear enough to me.

Coach gun in 20 GA. Useless I know, but I like the look.

The end.

99 I finally got around to trying out my 10 inch barrel chambered in 7mm TCU for my Contender. For those unfamiliar, this is wildcat cartridge that is the .223 Remington necked-up to 7mm.

Accuracy wasn't as good as I would have liked (about 2 inches at 25 yards), but I had loaded it with a relatively low powder charge (30.7 grains of BL-C(2) with a 120 grain Hornady bullet) and still had unburned powder residue in the barrel. Time to step up the charge and see how that does.

I'm used to high recoil pistols and shoot .45 ACP frequently and .44 Magnum occasionally, but this 7mm TCU has even more recoil. The muzzle blast is very loud too. I fired six shots and my wrist ached a bit that evening!

Yes, and like I said, I'm not a lawyer. But due process is in the fifth, the fifth says "no person", so in my interpretation, it means all persons are afforded due process. 110 Don't even need a printer or CNC machine. P.A.Luty Wrote a book about Expedient Homemade Firearms.

You might be able to find it online even at Amazon.

It goes in and out of print.

Luty was a pioneer of the homemade gun movement before it was a movement. From England he was jailed for not having a firearm but for having ammunition he was not licensed to have.

(sounds like Cali don't it?)

He shows how to build an SMG and some single shot firearms.

Very crude. I would test extensively before putting one near my head but the Devil drives when the need arrives.

Lots of good ideas get you thinking how to make a firearm how to make it safer. It's all up to you and the skill you bring to the work.

Gun Control is impossible over all. Yes some may wind up in jail but then things go badly when they start that in any numbers. And the state/FedGov knows that.

Connecticut firearms owners have yet to fully comply with the states law about registration. New Yorkers haven't either. Be safe, be careful and don't talk to just anybody about what you're doing or what you own. Not even who you think are friends. Unless you have some hold on them I wouldn't trust anyone I wouldn't trust my life to.

Well if we're talking about illegal aliens (that is what we're talking about, right?), yeah, they're already subject to detention and deportation. There are rules for this kind of thing, they don't need more protections and they don't need to be denied rights granted to all persons in the constitution just fucking enforce the laws that are already in place. I swear, how many problems are due to coming up with new laws and procedures to address already-solved problems? Fucksakes.

But they are capable of great accuracy so I persist with lower power cartridges. 38 specials in 357 mag. and maximum barrels, 44 specials in 44 mag version, mild cast bullet loads in 30-30. If I need long range accuarcy I just put up with the recoil and once home take medicinal bourbon to ease the soreness.

It is popular and has gotten good reviews. Ruger essentially took their original PC carbine and did a redesign. The new version will take Glock magazines and has a Picatinny rail on the receiver.

I came -> this <- close to buying one for Mrs Cop but ultimately did not mainly because I didn't have a Glock 9mm and didn't feel like adding yet another magazine type to my collection.

151 If they are returned as is, they are not being deprived of life liberty or property.

I don't see how due process enters in.

I suppose they could say that they are at risk being returned to a Country where they might be killed.

But they came from Mexico. Return them to Mexico. Let Mexico sort them out.

That's why the wall is soooo important.

We should pull out our troops and man the borders as that's the real security threat.

especially when the presumptive leader of a country says he's going to tell his people to invade. That's a declaration of war imo.

153 When operating machinery I always use ear protection. I always check the cuff in the muff for critters before putting them on, always.

Today I didn't put them on and when I put them on something started jumping around in my ear. I yanked them off and there he was. Mr. Treefrog.
A flipping tree frog in my ear. Well, I promptly held the muff up to a tree and he hit the road.

I have some, well, skills with respect to long range shooting and coaching and enjoy passing the knowledge along. 230 99 ... RBC, I have found recoil on Contenders often feels worse than on other handguns and I can tolerate a lot of recoil. But they are capable of great accuracy ... If I need long range accuracy I just put up with the recoil and once home take medicinal bourbon to ease the soreness.

I probably should have done the same. I was just a bit surprised at how sore my wrist was later that night. I had gotten this barrel years ago for a really low price and put a
2x Nikon scope on it. Federal used to make unprimed brass for 7mm TCU and I have 180 sitting around waiting for a load.

I made some test loads and the one I selected for the range just didn't seem to have optimal accuracy and suspect the load was too light since I had unburned powder residue inside the barrel. I was shooting from a bench rest and only got about 2 inch groups at 25 yards.

I have a 30-30 barrel and have been thinking about getting a .32 ACP chamber adapter from Ace Sports.

Posted by: Iowa Bob at June 24, 2018 08:38 PM (bjCNA)
-------
I use full length bushing dies for sizing. After I carefully set up the press (regular single stage for sizing) I check every 10th case or so to make sure I have a consistent bump of about .0015" or so. Consistency is key. I measure that with the same sort of tool that you linked.

I use a Wilson micrometer seating die because it gives a much greater 'feel' of the seating force required, and I verify/confirm the seating depth every 5 rounds or so. 21st Century Shooting makes an arbor press with a seating force gauge but after you load a zillion rounds you can just tell by feel. The necks of all my match brass are turned to a very consistent wall thickness and sized very carefully, again checking often for absolute consistency.

I use full length bushing dies for sizing. After I carefully set up the press (regular single stage for sizing) I check every 10th case or so to make sure I have a consistent bump of about .0015" or so.

Is .0015 for a bolt gun, or an autoloader?

I use a Wilson micrometer seating die because it gives a much greater 'feel' of the seating force required, and I verify/confirm the seating depth every 5 rounds or so. 21st Century Shooting makes an arbor press with a seating force gauge but after you load a zillion rounds you can just tell by feel. The necks of all my match brass are turned to a very consistent wall thickness and sized very carefully, again checking often for absolute consistency.

Posted by: Weasel at June 24, 2018 08:49 PM (MVjcR)

Thanks. Does your seating die match the bullet profile? After seating the bullet, I see some variation in overall length from round to round. I suspect at least some of that is because the seating die bears on a different point (actually a circle) on the bullet than the calipers do when measuring OAL. With this setup any bullet-to-bullet variation in bullet shape can affect overall length.

The seating die has a standard stem for the caliber. I do not use OAL (ever, ever) due to variations in the tips of bullets from the manufacturing process. I use an ogive gage (Brownells sells them) which is a hex nut with various caliber size holes. This tool indexes on the bullet olive which is consistent because I spend a stupid amount of time sorting thousands of match bullets by ogive dimension. They're really popular in revolvers. You can find them for other auto cartridges besides .45, but for whatever reason they aren't as common as they are in revolvers. If I had to guess, it's probably some vestigial hangup about *throws dart* feeding ramp issues. Plus they're usually bare lead and people use FMJ ball for 9mm range ammo.

399 Wadcutters are usually a revolver cartridge because they often won't feed reliably in a semi-auto. Typically cast and loaded with light charges for comfort and accuracy. They are popular for 'cutting' clean holes in targets making it easy to score them.

I've seen them in 32 long, 38 special, and 44 special calibers. I shoot a lot of them in 32 and 38.

No...maybe. We get some good ones around here, but I've really just been wanting to shoot in the Designated Marksman Matches we have around here at Woody's near Raleigh, and do so until I place middle-of-the-pack. I would also like to be at least a respectable contender at some of the Bang Steel competitions near Wytheville, VA. Those look like tons of fun. Once my rig is done, I'll be taking (and probably re-taking, because I'm not such a great student at anything, lol) the Bang Steel course.

I have no delusions as to my skill potential. I would simply like to get good enough to not embarrass myself with my performance at local/regional competitions, like I did back in my 3-gun days. I tend to avoid competitions that include "sponsored" competitors.

Not locked. Crap. Pretty certain I had locked it. Bad neighborhood. Not that I had much of value to steal having gone thru a brutal divorce a couple years prior. I asked if he was still with me. Yes. I opened the door and entered. My brother surveyed the room and said " shit, They trashed the place." No, I said. This is how I left it. We cleared it anyway, but I am now a much better housekeeper.
