Yes, if there's one thing we don't have a shortage of in the U.S. it's lawyers.
The government should take a few hundred unemployed or retired lawyers who are willing to work for a few years, give them a brief, intensive course in immigration and asylum law, and give them temporary appointments as federal magistrates. Then they can hear the cases and make the decisions and we can get mass deportations underway!
It's wrong to make these poor illegal aliens languish in those air-conditioned facilities with the three meals and two snacks a day, and the video games and classes and such. And it's even more wrong to release them into the U.S. Better to streamline the entire system so that we can process them quickly and have them in court and back across the border and on their way home in a matter of a week or two!

Yes, if there's one thing we don't have a shortage of in the U.S. it's lawyers.
The government should take a few hundred unemployed or retired lawyers who are willing to work for a few years, give them a brief, intensive course in immigration and asylum law, and give them temporary appointments as federal magistrates. Then they can hear the cases and make the decisions and we can get mass deportations underway!
It's wrong to make these poor illegal aliens languish in those air-conditioned facilities with the three meals and two snacks a day, and the video games and classes and such. And it's even more wrong to release them into the U.S. Better to streamline the entire system so that we can process them quickly and have them in court and back across the border and on their way home in a matter of a week or two!

Ask Chuck Schumer. New Judge positions have to be created by congressional legislation, they cannot be created by executive order.
Once again, the problem with them not showing up only comes into play when we are following a catch and release policy. The entire idea is to get AWAY from catch and release. If you have controlled facilities to house them while they wait, showing up for a hearing is no longer an issue.

It's not a bad thought, but that conflicts with the Refugee Act of 1980, which spells out the procedures which the US Govm't has to follow in these cases. Once again, it's gonna take Congressional Legislation to change that - we are talking about finally following the law after 8 years of an Executive that completely ignored the law - but to make the case that the Law must be followed, we also have to follow the parts we don't like, until we can get Congress to change it.

A legitimate asylum claim is one where the foreign applicant shows that he/she is being persecuted by their government.
That shouldn't take any competent lawyer more than a few days to prepare. The client should know the names of the people in their government who have harmed and/or threatened him or her, the nature of the harm and/or threats, the dates the harm and/or threats were made, and if there were any witnesses or other evidence (e.g., scars on their body, visible injuries, medical records, employment records, computer records, etc.) to support the client's claim. Either the asylum applicant can provide proof of the basis for their claim, or they can't. If they can't, then the claim should be denied.
Obama had allowed asylum claims to be expanded to include bullshit claims such as domestic abuse ("my esposa beats me!"), and gang violence ("a gang threatened to kill me!") or even poverty, and those cases would indeed be hard to prepare, since the client in many of those cases was just making it up as an easy way to stay in the U.S. and get welfare and generous "refugee" benefits. But now that those bogus grounds have been eliminated, the real asylum claims should not take that long to litigate.

This. Money changes hands and they wind up in a brothel somewhere hooked on drugs. The parents don't deserve to be with these kids. Heidi and I visited ranchers on the border here in AZ a few years ago with armed escort. the stories about what happens to these kids along the way, or after they are released with some 'relative' is horrendous. Encouraging wave of illegals is criminal and barbarous.

The only legitimate asylum seekers entering the US are from Canada, Mexico, Cuba, and a few Carribbean islands. Everyone else had to cross through or pass other countries to get to the US, and should have applied for asylum there.

Hi CB,
Since I don't really have a k t of time for breakfast, I like it when I have leftover meat I can eat then.
A lot of times I use my airfryer to cook burgers, sliced pork belly or porchops and eat that. I also cook bacon there or in the oven. Sometimes I eat eggs and cheese with the meat.
I eat 3 meals a day and snack whenever hungry. When I first started I was hungry a lot and always had ham or roast beef slices and cheese on hand to snack on.
