17 Poster art - looks like a cartoon. Blind girls with books. Can't see the rainbow, doesn't understand colors.

How do you explain colors to a blind person? Perhaps using music as an analog. Red would be the deep angry bass line with drums. Violins in all their shades of tone. Orchestra represents the rainbow.

22 I very much appreciate the deep symbolism that Millais worked into this painting. Obviously, he anticipated our political situation today. The Blind Girl represents the Never Trumpers, oblivious to the wonderful things happening around them. The younger girl represents those who want to break away of them, since they can see which is happening, but the Never Trumpers clutch at them ever more tightly, desperately trying to force them to stay.

Of course Trump is the double Rainbow. The Biggest, Bestest, most YUUUGE rainbow you have ever seen!!!

Plus, the people so upset at the welfare of children support abortion. More children leave DHS shelter alive than leave Planned Parenthood alive.

89 But as I study the image, the two girls are very nicely done, but still, the meaning of life escapes me. What's the point, and does it make any difference?

Were it me, I'd have said it was a depiction of the cruelty of fate. God made a wonderful world, with bright and shining color and yet He also made the poor girl blind, forever closing her eyes to the beauty that surrounds her.

Perhaps Millais meant it as an allegory.

**checks wiki**

Apparently it is an allegory of the senses, "contrasting the experiences of the blind and sighted sisters."

I like my explanation better.

And apparently the paper on the girl's shawl reads Pity the Blind.

I still say this is a very sad painting.

Here is a typical recommendation from the report...

114 Been off for a few days, so missed all the commentary on the IG report.

Nassim Taleb has a character he uses in his books called Fat Tony and contrasts him against the IYI (Intellectual Yet Idiot) bookworm. In one case, he says if you flipped a quarter 50 times and it landed on heads all 50 times, and asked what the odds were that the 51st flip would be heads. The IYI would insist 50%. Fat Tony would know that you are dealing with a loaded quarter.

The IG report brought this to mind. The IYI insists that there was no evidence of bias. Fat Tony and the voters know otherwise.

198 O/T but the state of CA managed to destroy the value of our house and then inflate the value within a matter of days.

First, passed a stupid water bill mandating fines for exceeding water usage limits, which are set ridiculously low.

Boom, there goes the value of our house.

Then, a few days after, the state of CA mandates that all new construction must have solar panels, which will add anywhere from 10K to 20K to the cost of new construction.

No solar on our house, boom, our house just became more valuable.

Yeah, we're moving in a couple of years.

Because that is who they are, with all pretense and facades stripped away. That's who they've always been. Monsters who want us subjugated before our death at their hands.

The important question is why do they no longer feel the need to conceal their innermost feelings?

Also this morning on Fox, a short video clip of a DHS immigration center that was created out of a large warehouse in Texas. It has chain link fencing in sections to create rooms and of course, we had the shot of 8-10 year olds lying on mats on the floor covered in reflective silver blankets while there were adults standing in line to be processed.

Maybe someone should show a video of dead illegals in a semi trailer, or dead illegals with dead kids in the desert and then compare that to the detention/shelter they are now in.

Moneyball the movie is somewhat questionable history (just ask Art Howe), but that ending has always struck true to me.

Billy Beane goes to meet with the Red Sox, and they say that they are going to use his system. It's obvious that he's not going to be able to compete against the Sox if they do it, but he did manage to change baseball, which was part of his goal in the beginning.

No, the new water rules will affect home values, or would. The state has mandated a limit of 55 gallons per day per occupant. A shower alone will use close to that. Let's say one does three loads of laundry on one day. So much for your shower on that particular day.

You have to remember, it's CA so, politicians are all about "conservation" and not about finding ways to increase supply. These people believe it's possible to turn a finite supply into an infinite supply through conservation.

It was more than questionable, it was down right fake news in certain respects.

The Sox were just a bit behind the A's when it came to adopting sabemetrics which neither of them invented and each used slightly differently but the A's were ahead of the curve and their small payroll made the story more compelling.

Epstein hated that the movie told everyone about sabermetrics since it allowed other teams to understand they were missing a competitive tool.

Then those homes would lose value since they wouls be less desirable. But if every house has tje same limits there is no value lost.

It is retarded to impose these rules, but losing home value isnt an argument against it.

328 It's not an accordion, it's a concertina. A German type concertina, actually, which was more cheaply made than the much better constructed English and Anglo-German styles. German concertinas were mass produced and frequently used by the poorer classes for busking. A single button on a concertina only plays a single note, while on the left hand of the accordion a single button frequently plays a chord (accord is French for chord). The first accordion was German, and only had the left hand chord playing part (the right hand was just a board). The modern accordions were born when someone (French I think) added a flutina (which only played single notes on the right hand) to an original accordion.

All of these instruments are related to the harmonica, and to this day there is at least one row of every concertina and button accordion that is configured like a harmonica's scale.

Why do some women and fags dress like tards, poke pieces of metal into their bodies as decoration, compete to see who can get the most STD's, tattoo themselves in a way that you only used to see in a freak show? Because they want attention. Mumsy and Doo doo failed them. Now they must punish the rest of the world.

Send the pro propaganda one the case of a woman in England in childbirth and the NHS doctor decapitating the infant by trying to heave the child when the mother was only partially dilated.

375 Google Theo Epstein and Moneyball and you will see his take on the movie.

Found an article about his Yale commencement speech where he says he's outgrown Moneyball as a concept.

*looks further*

Oh, this is interesting:

"Lewis was working on a book about baseball's nascent information age, but Epstein wanted nothing to do with him. "I can't believe Billy is letting him write this book," the article read. Billy Beane, Oakland's general manager, had granted Lewis access to his front-office operations, which meant revealing how the A's were mining information from statistical analysis, a tool used extensively at the time by only the Athletics, Indians, Blue Jays and Red Sox. 'He's handing out the blueprint'"

At https://tinyurl.com/y8be88cm in a footnote on page 83 an excerpt from the artist's wife's diary specifically notes that it is, in fact, a concertina.

"Squeezebox" is a term that can apply to any bellows-driven instrument. It is, however, inappropriate as a term for a woman's reproductive appurtenances. If you're squeezing it, you're doing it wrong.
