25 Good Morning Morons; Today is Sunday, June 17, 2018. On this day in 1930 President Herbert Hoover signed the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act into law. The liberal historians blame this for starting the great depression. The depression was a direct result of FDR's communist policies.

Slept to late this morning so no news but here is an update on my trip to Charleston. Wifey is doing fine and has been moved from ICU to a regular room. She is recovering much better than they had predicted originally. So thanks Morons and Moronettes, all those prayers have been answered.

The Old Man was a career Navy officer and retired as a Commander (he didn't go any higher because he refused to kiss ass -- as shown by him telling his CO and XO that he couldn't muster a pair of balls between the two of them). He used to mention that he felt like he was loosing his mind, but at least the dementia has progressed to the point he isn't aware of it anymore.

He's not really happy about being in a nursing home but the staff likes him and he always tells me that "the girls" take good care of him.

The commonly reported statistic is the U-3, which is people unemployed less than 6 months. Under Mocha Heyzeus, the U-6 statistic (people unemployed over 6 months) was double-digits. Add in the older folks that just gave up looking for work and went on disability, the previous administration was a disaster.

My employer is trying to figure out where to put new-hires and is talking about "hot-bunking" desks while your on vacation to have a place for transients to use. At least I'm in a classified area and don't have to worry about that but we did lose our dedicated CAD desk.

Same here; the Old Man wrote scholarly magazine articles on naval architecture, painted, carved wood and, after he retired, learned blacksmithing and metal-working. I grew up in house filled to bursting with books, art and antiques. When I needed to write a report when I was kid, all I usually had to do was go into the Old Man's private library.

Now, he is rather childish and doesn't read like he used to. He's pretty much just marking time until he joins Mom in Heaven.

Yes, the amount of food in the package decreased but the price stayed the same. Toilet paper rolls used to be an inch longer than they are now. Lots of things like occurred in addition to the Obama administration "cooking the books."

We had high inflation, the Feral Gov't just lied about it.

120 Couple things I'm seeing about Alzheimer's in medical news.

First is the value of sleep. A lot of 'housekeeping' occurs in the brain during sleep. It can't very well have the housekeeping crews clogging up the hallways during sleeping hours.

The second is more nutrition related. A theory that Alzheimer's is a form of 'Type 3' diabetes. Treatment with inhaled insulin, iirc. So a diabetic diet with emphasis on avoiding high glycemic foods. Becoming familiar with a glycemic chart and what foods to avoid seems a good strategy -- including for the waist line.

199 They like the "camp" issue because they love sad pictures, like putting polar bears on little ice bergs. And if the picture looks good, they don't have to do any thinking.

But it won't work for them - because when anyone asks Ok, what should we do, the only answer is "Let them all go! No border enforcement! Open Borders for All!!!!"

and they can't deny that because a huge part of the Left wing base wants exactly that.

I can remember quite a few times at big family dinners with my in-laws when I could have done that, especially on Thanksgiving. Well, that's because one sis-in-law and her mother had this ongoing argument about whether she should use her nickname or her real name, and they both cared about it and no one else did, and once they got into it they locked into the same exact script that they used in this argument for at least 15 years straight.

It got to where I think everyone at the table wanted to chant their lines along with them, like a chorus, just to keep from being bored to death.

Ah, that was a great Family Tradition.

honestly, it wasn't all that bad. 7.8 when he began, 6.7 when he finished.

Of course it doesn't factor in growth which is where he really failed or discouraged workers.

Trump's is about optimism, tax cuts, and growth, in spite of increased labour participation and interest rates, and wages.
