Thursday's ONT is a Moral Hazard!

It's just disgusting what people today are doing! Sometimes they get what they have coming to them,

gull.jpg

but others show no sense of shame whatsoever! Their whole life is just based upon junk science.

Junk Science

12 Facts About the Penis

I mean really. The penis of all things! (Although if the ONT was written for 12 year old boys I could just type “Penis! Penis! Penis!”, and they'd be in hysterics.) At least the above are facts about the penis. Some people seem to be clueless about basic biological facts. I don't know what these people are thinking, it's a mystery

It's a Mystery!

Why on Earth should that be? Better send in Scooby and the gang to figure it out! At least it's better than these stores, which should be far apart.

Shoulda Put These Stores Far Apart

Well I never! The very idea! Corporate America should be more responsible. Why they aren't is a mystery, too.

What ever could have gone wrong?

Oh, forget it. Next thing you know people will be singing dirty songs and shit.

Dirty Songs and Shit

Surprisingly, that's not half as dirty as this song, even though it has more dirty words (1 to 0)

I don't know what is wrong with people today. Maybe it's just a symptom of the rot at the head of the fish

The Rot at the Head of the Fish

New Obama Scandal — ‘Wholesale Destruction’ of Gov’t Records

Ahh, fuggetaboutit. We should all just think about something funny until the SMOD delivers us all from this veil of tears.

63 Once upon a time, when I just finished college, I worked in a research lab my advisor had started, as a private business.

He had a habit of looking at some re-crystalized product in a vial, and just saying, "super, super" if it looked good.

We used to call it the Frank's Color Test or FCT (because his first name was Frank). One day, his partner, a sub continent Indian, was in the lab, and my co-worker in the lab and I were looking at something we had made, and going "super! super!", to which the partner wondered why.
We told him all about the FCT. He laughed, and then was silly enough to say the same thing when the boss was in the lab a week later.
"Super! Super!", to which Frank gave him a dirty look, and my partner and I just looked dumbfounded.

Later, we laughed really hard.

Too scared to acknowledge it, of course, but I'm guessing even Disney isn't putting graphic yuckiness of two dudes in many, if any, of their shows and movies for that very reason. Something cutesy and implied, but not much more. Because they know 98% of people are absolutely repulsed by the idea.

As someone who works in a technical field, engineering, there are few women. About one in twenty and that's with all the crazy incentives to hire women engineers.

It is true that women engineers skew younger amd prettier but that's because so many stop working when they have their first child. I've never met a woman engineer over 40, though I'm sure there's some out there.

Two examples:

First: We just lost a terrific naval architect because she had her first baby. Her husband is also a Naval Architect and they can live off his one salary. She's 27.

Second: my GF is an electrical engineer. And if we get married and have kids the chances of her continuing to work are close to zero. She's 23.

There's no country for old lady-engineers. Probably scientists too.

Then Allende finished nationalizing the foreign owned copper mines and the economy went to hell, and the lefties blamed Nixon and Anaconda Copper.
Well, duh. Steal that much and no-one trusts you not to steal more.

Pablo Neruda was arguably a poet - as in free verse about Marxism and sex is arguably poetry - but he wrote about Anaconda and proved himself an idiot socialist as well.

I think that's true of women in general. It's why that statistic of women only earning 76% as much as men is misleading. There are a lot of reasons women earn less:
fewer years in the workforce, so less seniority, fewer hours per week, because have to pick up the kids from daycare
more absence because kids are sick
choosing careers that pay less
more likely to work part time.

Their conversation turnded to how they could have a competition to find out who was the best without maiminv or killing each other.

A fly came a buzzing around the Japanese master and after a few moments he snapped a backlist at it that popped the air next to the fly so hard that it fell to the ground, dead.

Oh, very impressive said the Chinese master.
Indeed, agreed the Korean. Speed and focus of a true master.

Shortly thereafter a fly came buzzing around the Korean master.
His foot shot up, the air popped and again, a dead fly.

Masterful speed and flexibility agreed both the Japanese and Chinese masters.

Not long after, a third fly came to close to the Chinese master. His hand flicked out and,,, the fly just flew away.

Aha, you missed proclaimed the the other two masters.

The Chinese master, with a slight grin and waggle of his finger said "Oh no. That fly have no more babies."

6th district has been GOP for a long time. Even during the Byrd Machine days, the 6th was voting Republican. Ben Cline the GOP candidate is from around Lexington, and his opponent is from the Staunton area. It's kind of hard to get a read on it since neither is from the Roanoke Valley which is where the biggest population percentage comes from.

I guess it really depends on how bad Corey Stewart does. If he hits about 45%, the GOP should hold its seats in Virginia. 40-44%, the GOP will lose a couple seats. Under 40%, the GOP will lose 5 seats.

I don't expect Corey Stewart to get 45% of the statewide vote.

339 Bullitt was one of those films that changed every film of its type that came after. Before Bullitt, car chase scenes were fairly dull, goofy looking scenes of regular driving run at high speed. Bullitt was done to make it look real, and every director since then who's done a chase scene realized "Wow! That's what it's got to look like!!!"

I used to love counting how many cars they wrecked each show. After one of those big long jumps, when the General Lee lands, half the time if you watch closely you can see the front half of the car wrench up at a 45 degree angle to the rest of the car, just before they cut to a scene of them driving away in a car that looks brand new.

371 So, it looks like we have an actual pimp running for (I think) a House seat in Nevada. As a Republican.

Dennis Hoff, owner of the Moonlite Bunny Ranch, which was featured on the HBO series Cathouse.

I don't really approve of legalizing prostitution, but I do think it would be better than what we have now as far as enforcement of those laws is concerned. The current system here in Denver has zero repercussions for prostitutes, while using every trick in the book to ruin the lives of johns or even "suspected" johns.

Example: One local man was driving his work truck at night. He made a U-turn in the vicinity of a spot where the cops were running a prostitution sting. They arrested him and seized that truck, which actually belonged to his employer, through civil asset forfeiture.

Their entire case against him was built on that U-turn. Lucky for him, his mother is Julie Hayden, an Emmy-award-winning local TV journalist from our Fox affiliate. She's now the Julie of our big local talk radio KNUS's Chuck and Julie show. They're excellent, by the way; I highly recommend giving them a listen if you get the chance.

Anyway, because Julie is such a big local media figure, Denver PD dropped those spurious charges against her son and gave him back his work truck.

All this makes me wonder how many totally innocent men have had their lives utterly ruined by this ridiculous enforcement regime. Might be better just to legalize it; I don't know.

374 I am in a medically induced funk tonight.

Last Tuesday, I had minor surgery to merge an artery and a vein in my lower left arm into a single entity known as a "fistula" because I will require dialysis in the not too distant future. I now have to learn how to live without using my left arm or hand for much of anything in order to keep the fistula from crapping out on me. That means I can no longer sling my purse or my gym bag up onto my left shoulder to keep my right hand free for keys and other such useful things. It also means I have to ask Himself to open all jars and pop all ice trays. The day of surgery, I also learned I am in no danger of becoming an oxycodone junkie -- the damn stuff makes my brain all fuzzy for a couple of hours, then I fall asleep.

This Tuesday, I had to visit my endocrinologist for a diabetes checkup. Life is good there. Yippee.

Today, I had to visit my GP because he was playing hardball with my Xanax. No visit, no Xanax. No Xanax, no sleep. We had a nice chat, and I talked him into prescribing a single 3mg pill instead of three 1 mg pills. Then I really hit the jackpot when I convinced him to write a 90 day prescription rather than a 30, saving me a couple of renewals. The happy feeling lasted until I hit the pharmacy at which point my insurance company balked, refusing to pay for the new prescription. The pharmacist thinks it's because the 3mg are extended release rather than just plain old generic Xanax. So, both the pharmacy and I have calls into my GP requesting a change in the prescription back to the old style. And I am counting my pills, hoping my doc (his assistant, actually) gets things taken care of.

This Monday coming up, I have to visit the surgeon so she can inspect her handy work.

The following week, I have to visit my nephrologist. Hopefully, we'll just kick around what we each thought about Avengers rather than have a depressing conversation about starting dialysis. But I also have to hustle out to the hospital a couple days early to feed the vampires so the nephrologist can see what condition my condition is in.

Then, a few weeks later, another trip to the hospital and the vampires in preparation for my trip to visit my oncologist.

And just to put the cherry on the cake, I've got this idiot nutritionist constantly nagging me about everything I put in my mouth. Would you believe I had to provide her with the ingredient labels of my Republic of Tea tea bags so she could check every little thing in them? You should have heard her fussing about the elder flowers in my morning cup of tea. You would have thought they were belladonna or something exciting like that.

Because my arm is still healing, I can't swim until after the 4th of July, and I don't know yet how much of what I can do in the pool with my left arm.

For someone who made it her life's work to stay away from the doctor's office, I feel like I am now spending all of my time running from specialist to specialist with a brief stop off at my GO's office every few months. And I am ticked off by the whole thing because it's not my fault!!!! Damn auto immune disease is what's killing my kidneys. Someone shot an arrow in the sky and I was the lucky recipient. Blah!!!

I honestly do not know on legalization of various things. It always comes down to- is the current 'cure' better than the disease? Maybe? But would legalization merely open other, new even larger problems that we cannot foresee?

On the other, other hand, many of these do not seem to be aimed at public safety, but often as revenue streams for localities. Close that loop and see how things go, maybe.

I would love to see some of the footage of the actual jumps for those scenes, how they set it up the ramps and all that.

In some, the Charger has a downward pitch and hits front end first, and in others, it has a backward pitch, pointing up and hits rear wheel first. And then in some, it will have a roll.

When it first comes off the ramp, the front end will of course start falling, and that will give it rotation on the pitch axis. You have to get the speed and angle just right.

401 371 -- Protonothary -- We lost the War on Drugs before we even started it. Nobody learned anything from Prohibition. The scarcer the item, the higher the price. And when it's illegal, only the crooks have it. Just like with Prohibition, there's too much chance for corruption among the people allegedly enforcing the laws. Prostitution was mentioned a few posts earlier. Same thing. Graft and payola. And so many of the social conventions that used to help keep these things in check have crumbled like sand.

No, I don't have an answer. The only thing I can say is: people will be people -- good, bad, or indifferent. All you can do is try and keep your little corner of the universe from turning into just another shit hole. If enough of us work on our little corners of the universe, maybe we can unite to create a clean, liveable space. And maybe I'm just whistling past the grave.

In any event, we are cautiously optimistic and hoping that the last of the lab results indicate a benign mass (a portion of which was the aforementioned arterial venous malformation), before we consider ourselves truly out of the woods.

Wray's appearance shows he, at least, figures this is over. Also shows the arrogance and cluelessness on display in the IG report - none of which affected actual investigative decisions, mind you - is strong, and probably now vindicated. Unbelievable performance.

I'd expect the stonewalling of Congress to get even more arrogant. Now clear the IG won't rock the boat even on a scandal as spectacular as the faux Clinton investigation. Congress has shown it is not serious. Allah knows what Trump and Sessions are thinking.

I presume that you are aware about the relative difficulties of dispensing stick and extruded powders, versus the ball and flake powders.

Otherwise, could a prolonged period of non-use allowed a layer of oxidation to build or moisture and powder gumming up the works?

Lube with graphite such as RCBS dry case neck lube if the first instance. Disassemble and clean in acetone in the second.

Otherwise, what are the symptoms? Are you being deliberately consistent in your technique with an otherwise known easy to dispense powder? Are you within the recommend range of the particular dispensing cylinder (e.g., pistol versus rifle).

That's about all I got.

Bought a "walking desk" treadmill off of fleabay. (Yes, I need it.) It shows up today, so I go to check it out. Hook up the electric bits, no joy. Hmmm.... Well, what do you know, I forgot to put the little safety key on it. Do that and, no joy.
Write the seller, they're all, "can you send us pics of the damaged items? Oh, and can we give you 80 bucks and you go find a repair shop?"
So I take pics of the boxes and find something I hadn't noticed before. The spot where a shipping manifest had previously been attached and removed. Well, that just ain't right.
Told them they sold me previously returned as defective merchandise as new, and no, $80 ain't gonna cut it. Ball's in their court now.
TL;DR - Ebay deal went south, much whining by me ensued.

Ok, so we know the job market has been improving. We know that the number of unemployed has been dropping. We even had stories that the number of job opening exceeded those without work the other day.

So, mental midgets at Reuters, why is it surprising that jobless claims are falling?

Humorous, but in fact the only political entity that ever incorporated all of the nationalities you just listed was the Austrian Empire, 1815-1867, and I don't think that was what you had in mind.

That does remind me of an old Czech witticism, however, to the effect that while Austria managed to protect civilization from the Turks, she unfortunately failed to save it from the Hungarians.

From what I recall reading, Lee drum dispenser is better than the traditional type dispensers at stick or extruded powders, and it would seem Trailboss would dispense easier like a flake powder.

Also, IIRC, the Lee was more finicky in setup than the traditional dispensers, although from what I hear the Lee dispenser is perfectly serviceable. And the oxidation part above is likely not applicable, as is the cleaning with acetone, which might damage plastic parts.

Not much help, otherwise, because I went from dip and trickle with the Lee dippers to a Redding 3BR. If you are looking at dropping coin on a powder dispenser, the 3BR is money well-spent.

481 JackStraw has long advised many here to do what he does - read original documents themselves, and the analysis of those who follow specific things closely, and not to rely on the MSM. Sound advice, on any topic, obviously, any more.

I'm calling the IG report a disaster because it took on a pretty obvious - if unprecedented - case of massive improprieties in FBI practices, and brought forth a mouse. Yeah yeah lots of dirt in the body of the report. Probably even grist for prosecutions of some of our favorite public employees.

But hard to see the central issue being addressed - SecState and crew commits massive, systematic, undeniable violations of the Espionage Act, and lots of obstruction of justice related thereto - and walks. And, for the most part, the FBI collaborators will walk, to, on the central issue.

Getting Capone on tax evasion was fine. Getting a handful of FBI criminals on the equivalent of tax evasion - vs. obstruction of justice - will not be OK.

If you wonder why some might feel that way, watch Director Wray's press event today. Tell me it's not as, or more, appalling and amazing than anything that took place during the Obama years. There's a guy who is quite content to not see central issues addressed, and appears to have no idea how his agency's integrity is now a laughing matter.

Though iirc, people also noted that the "composite" was quite similar to a woman that his ghost writer had dated.

I don't recall ever hearing anything in his biographies that even suggests he was gay. Remember that based on when the books were written, anything hinting at such a thing might be seen as a political liability. So I'd be surprised if there actually was something like that in them.

The only thing he really wants me to do is clean kitty litter boxes (they're my damn cats!) and make dinner. After years and years of doing 90% of the cooking because of my work and swimming hours, he is absolutely delighted at not having to figure out what to feed me every night of the week, grateful enough that he will eat just about everything I put in front of him as long as it's not Spam casserole more than once a month. (It's in the cookbook, I just can't remember what page, and I'm too lazy to get up and look for it.) So thanks, everyone, for listening to me bitch and whine -- especially those of you with much worse problems or relatives with much worse problems.

Posted by: junior at June 15, 2018 01:25 AM (luFt9)

Nobody read Barky's autobiography(s). The only reason we found out about the dog eating was because Barky tried to hammer Mittens over the roof dog and someone on the right remembered the dog eating stuff with his muzzie stepdad. But pretty much no one reads Barky's books, except some on the right who wanted to find odd and stupid stuff, which those books were built out of, basically.

They're just starved for content. North Korean TV is probably like MTV was back when it first started - they only had 20 or so videos that they showed over and over and over and they played that 2 minute moon flag thing every 25 minutes.

552 Cosmic, haven't read that section yet, but the "insubordination" part probably should have been called "usurpation".

FBI Dir. making a prosecution call is like an asst. sec. of the Treasury making the decision on some financial policy, when it's the Secretary's call. Obviously completely improper. But a violation of law? I dunno. I would think it is.

Of course the AG at the time - at least informally, in a statement - delegated the prosecution call to the FBI - which is *also* completely improper, and probably illegal.

This is a critical part of the story. I have to think the totality of actions by the FBI, incl. Comey, fit into charges for obstruction of justice. That's the issue to be resolved. That's the issue that devastates rule of law, and the one that, if not fully documented and severely punished, will truly be a serious blow to the country's foundations.

Reporters buying dinner for FBI agents, and other crap like that, is not the hinge on which the republic's fate turns.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'll be brief. The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with our female party guests - we did.

But you can't hold a whole government responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole government system? And if the whole system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our country in general?
I put it to you, President Trump- isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen!

Steve Sailer read them, because he himself is a sperglord and enjoys looking stuff up. I think Moldbug read them and you don't get more autistic than him, outside an institution. Some political operatives in 2008, who naively thought McCain cared about winning, brought various points to our attention.

IIRC, it's illegal in many jurisdictions to use FMJ ammo for hunting game, because it isn't lethal enough.

It depends on the range. At most reasonable ranges 5.56 NATO will "boat tail" in the wound, making a much larger wound channel.

And you know this is true on reflection - zillions of people have died to 5.56 NATO wounds, and it's not because they had tiny holes punched in them.

608 wounded troops tie up enormous logistical resources, *if* you are a civilized country.

evac the wounded, treat the wounded, evac them farther, treat them some more. feed them, shelter them etc...

all that takes supply cubage and weight that can't be used for other things. plus it requires large amounts of highly trained manpower, shelters, vehicles, etc, and the logistical tail for all of that as well.

so yeah, there is a certain advantage to wounding over killing, from a certain POV.

There will be no salvation from any of these reports as has been shown clearly by Wrays pathetic presser yesterday.

There is a local burger place here that does exactly that, they smash the burger dead flat and then they cook every single bit of juice out of what is left, over salt it and they have people lined up waiting to give them money.

For some reason I actually opened it, and the first sentence, in all caps, was "YOU'RE NOT PAYING ANYTHING TO WATCH PUBLIC TELEVISION - AND THAT'S NOT FAIR!" I didn't read any further, just tossed it in the trash, fuming.

Because even though I rarely watch that station, yes I do pay for it, as does every taxpayer, while the other stations, who do not beg me for money, are free to everyone.

I wondered who the marketing genius was behind that pledge campaign and how that campaign fared compared to others. Because nothing gets people to open their wallets faster than insulting them and going ALL CAPS ON THEIR AZZ.

I'm 63 and I don't care, LOL! Besides, this wasn't spring break, just regular people. You could take the people in any grocery store, strip 'em down and toss 'em on this beach. Not hardbodies. You get used to it, though.

Reminds me, they don't make beach blanket movies anymore. Teenagers frolicking on the beach, all innocent and like. That was when it was worth going to the movies. Now I only see them on MST3K.

They beg for money not because of the quality of their content programming, but NPR is a jobs program. What most operations can do with a couple of people, NPR uses a couple dozen, plus caterers, and large opulent offices, and top salaries to the "talent".

They wouldn't have to pan handle if they ran their operation like a normal business.

I hit on a cute lady cop that pulled me over for making an illegal turn on red back in the day.

Didn't get a threesome, or a boobie, or even a number - but I did get out of the ticket.

768 I don't know if JJ is going to cover this, but I've been watching this 42-minute NORK propaganda video covering KJU's meeting with Trump, and it's something to behold. The first five minutes deal with his leaving from N. Korea to attend, complete with goose-stepping soldier. The breathless female commentator is incredible to hear even though I don't understand a word.
