This is a good reminder that there are plenty of IG reports out there, in fact I bet it is a never-ending process of investigating and reporting. This is but one report. McCabe was his own report that dropped separately. So prepare to be frustrated that the report you desperately want to see is not in this one. It may be somewhere else in the works.

While the earlier IG report addressed McCabe's leaking and lies about it, this portion of the report ...
++++++++ I did a serious double-take on that sentence. At first blush, it sounds like the OIG report lied about McCabe's leaking. Seriously, though, it looks the primary thing to look for is whether the IG calls for a new investigation into Hill-Dog's server. Am I reading that correctly? It'll have an accounting of any perfidy but the real meat will be whether it calls for a new investigation? Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at June 13, 2018 03:27 PM (I2dne) 24

EVEN THOUGH it appears the Rosie orchestrated the Special Counsel by approving the Comey firing? Seems to me that a key part of his Fire Comey memo left out the "then Imma Special Council you". the Fed hikes rates when it thinks that growth is at the point to where it starts to put upward pressure on pricing and kickstart inflation. The rate hike is meant to counter that, by slowing the economy incrementally. A 2nd hike is no big deal, the old rule of thumb (which may or may not happen) is "3 Jumps and a stumble", meaning that after the 3rd consecutive interest rate hike, the stock market will usually take a drop for a while. All that Montafort prosecution is a bit close to home for the Podesta Group's activities, no? Posted by: Lizzy If Manafort is indicted (which he was) tried and convicted, the Podesta Bros should get the same, because they did the same thing. Mueller went after Manafort because he thought he could flip Manafort to get to Trump. Manafort either didn't really know that much, or he is unwilling to play this game, or actually knows there was no Russian collusion, and there has nothing to trade with Mueller. Mueller probably knows this too, but will not give up the game until the last hand is played, which is still years away. I'd really like to see a complete reform of the role of prosecutors and investigators in our criminal justice system.
There is a sense that it's true Comey was unfair to Hillary by describing all of her failings while exonerating her. But not in the sense that it singles out Hillary. This happens all the damn time, and usually to people more deserving of exoneration than Hillary. The same is true of the Bill Clinton investigation. Was it unfair that his lies on an unrelated subject became the focus? Sure, but not in the sense that he was singled out. Prosecutors do this all the time, at all levels; once you're singled out for investigation, especially by state-level departments, it is likely that they will keep searching long after they find out you didn't commit the crime they originally "suspected" you of. They will look for the most trivial oversight with the biggest potential penalty attached to it and force a settlement that way. If all of our laws made sense, that would be one thing. If you're being investigated for murder and it turns out you didn't murder someone but raped someone else, then yeah, you need to be prosecuted. But if they're looking for tax evasion, and it turns out you reported the income on form 1020 instead of form LOQ because of the complexity and vagueness of the laws, that's wrong. When it comes to the Clinton Foundation, you are dealing with a completely different element. Sure, there have been some, uh, convenient deaths of two men who were critical of their handling of Haiti aid, but would that same convenient death occur with, say, with Russians* who could be witnesses related to their the Uranium One dealings, or Saudi/Dubai/Qatar fundraising? Is Alexander Downer safer from an unexpected suicide/accident? Jackhole (I presume) Somewhere on Ventura Highway, most of what you list is integral to the central focus of the report - the conduct of the Espionage Act investigation.
It's unfortunate people use the very misleading and no less wordy "email investigation" or "private server" issue. Those issues, actually, relate to *another* important federal law that was obviously, massively, systematically and knowingly violated - Federal Records Act. I hope the IG will at least mention this gigantic, completely ignored aspect to the State scandal. It's Espionage Act violations, and related obstruction of justice actions. That's what's at issue - not just "emails" and "private servers". Posted by: rhomboid at June 13, 2018 03:54 PM (QDnY+) 131

Posted by: IllTemperedCur My guess is it will be "inconclusive" to most of us, and be weaker sauce than it could be, but will suggest or advise where the DoJ should go with further investigations. The Media will say something like "See, I told you so!" So it will be a little of both, but it could have been much more. That's my guess as to the outcome. Our government moves in incremental steps. I think Hillary is guilty of mishandling classified information, as is Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin, and at the least they should all get time in Leavenworth. Or be hung for treason, but that will never happen. Ditto Sydney Blumenthal and John Podesta and Tony Podesta. But they will likely get a run around in court, if a Grand Jury has been empaneled to examine evidence and indicts them. They have been Democrat and government apparatchniks, and are kind of immune from the laws the govern the rest of us. Isn' that kind of disgusting? All pretty much a long shot. But perhaps we win if they are permanently disgraced and never get near the government again. Posted by: Bozo Conservative....unfrozen caveman moron at June 13, 2018 03:55 PM (vcOmj) 135

on the topic of NeverTrumpers, Jonah Goldberg at NR just put up one of the most fiskable and idiot bit of writing on the Korean talks so far.
He starts off by saying "if you take it as a given that the Norks will not get rid of their nuclear program....." Why should we take that as a given? Maybe they will, maybe they won't, but if I really took that as a "given", then our only realistic option would be to launch all of our nukes right now, isnt' it? Is that what Goldberg is arguing for? Doing nothing sure hasn't worked, so now we gotta do something. We either talk, or we fight. Then he goes on about how Trump's agreement was "Just Like" Neville Chamberlain's Munich Agreement, which will just make War Inevitable. What an idiotic analogy - after Munich, the Germans were given the green light to march their army into Czechoslovakia, while G.B. did nothing. So where is Kim going to be marching his armies now? What was his "big payoff" so far? Like the rest of the NeverTrumpers, Goldberg's hatred is driving him into ludicrous self parody. Posted by: Tom Servo at June 13, 2018 04:00 PM (k1TUh) 158

As ace said, McCarthy is partially back in eye-rolling apologist mode, but as always one has to just pick the substantive nuggets from his writings. As I always say, and McCarthy's own writings amply confirm, quite apart from conflicts of interest (which are and have always been, since the FISA abuse was known, almost comically spectacular), Rosie showed complete unfitness for office with the appalling judgement he showed in appointing a special counsel, when the situation did not warrant it by DOJ standards. It's just making the rubble bounce for Rosie to pull his 27-year old first-year staffer jaw-droppers of calling congressional oversight demands "extortion", and threatening to subpoena their comms. My explanation of "Schoedinger's suicide note".
The functional "defense counsel" in the Vince Foster hearing, Richard Ben-Viniste, argued BOTH that Foster's suicide didn't need investigation because, it wasn't out of the ordinary as it HAD a suicide note, like 90% of all suicides do. And he argued that there was no reason to turn Vince Foster's torn-up list about his problems over to the authorities because it WASN'T a suicide note. They were the same sheet of paper. Both a suicide note and NOT a suicide note. Posted by: Axeman at June 13, 2018 04:06 PM (vDqXW) 178

No, rickb, since no death sentences have been handed out under the Espionage Act, ever (unless the Rosenbergs happened when it was in effect), I wouldn't expect death sentences.
Unless there are consequences for those involved, incredible damage will have been done, and remain, for the rule of law, whatever any IG reports say. Some people here know exactly what is and isn't going to happen, but since I lack their clairvoyance I'll just wait. Posted by: rhomboid at June 13, 2018 04:10 PM (QDnY+) 193
>>No matter what the left say about what Comey did and said, he was merely stating the facts about Hillary's corruption. None of it was a lie, it just p*ssed them off because it was said outloud before an election.
It's actually much worse than that. Comey violated or at least greatly modified FBI standard policy by refusing to let field FBI agents fun the investigation and instead had it run by McCabe, Strzok and the gang at FBI HQ. He did this for the sole purpose of being able to control who saw the information and to be able to control the outcome. He had to go public with the investigation because he was changing policy and basically controlling the whole thing and this allowed him to make the ludicrous statement finding her guilty but declining to recommend prosecution. The media will ignore this of course but I expect it to be made clear by Horowitz for those willing to actually read the report. Posted by: JackStraw at June 13, 2018 04:10 PM (/tuJf) 194

Whatever Bourdain's mental state or history of depression, it's not beyond the realm of possibility to consider that someone might have "helped him along", in order to get to Argento.
Not saying it's what happened, but it sure as hell wouldn't surprise me. " Some Brit tabloids have been pursuing this, and I think they've stumbled on the real story of his suicide, which is pretty sad. It was written that after his divorce, Bourdain was very depressed and morose, and fell even worse into drug use and alcoholism, which had always plagued him. But then he met Argento a year or so ago, and he fell absolutely, totally head over heels for her. Sounds like he was MUCH more in love with her than she with him, which makes sense since she was HOT and he was just some kinda famous old guy who was way past his prime. Being Good Leftists, they often made statements that they had an "Open Relationship", that neither one would try to control what the other partner could do, or who they could see. The problem was that apparently Anthony was so besotted with Argento that he couldn't bear to be with anyone else. She was - not quite so devoted. So last week, they met in France, but then Anthony had to stay in his hotel room alone in France, while Argento jetted off to Rome, and soon she let some photos get posted of her hugging and kissing the much younger, much hotter, Italian dude she was banging while poor old lovesick Anthony was stuck in a hotel room with nothing but a bottle of Johnny Walker for company. Not hard to imagine that he realized that this is what it was always going to be like, and that he made the decision to Shuffle Off this Mortal Coil not long after. Nor should it used in place of any of the despicable lies spouted by America's Pravda, CNN (hereafter and always to be lumped in with the other liars of the Mainstream Marxist Media, to be known as "Progda" as acknowledgement of their propensity to spread Marxist/Socialist/Progressive propaganda instead of genuine news.)
