What to Look For in Tomorrow's IG Report
The Federalist's Margot Cleveland catches us up:
Some of that sounds pretty interesting. One area that the report will cover is whether or not Comey was unfair to Hillary Clinton by announcing her misdeeds in a speech which exonerated her. I have a feeling that will constitute the bulk of most criticism of Comey. Because, of course.
[H]orowitz's report will indicate whether there will be calls for a fresh investigation of Hillary Clinton for her use of a private server and reckless handling of classified material while U.S. secretary of state. IG Horowitz is not investigating Clinton, but the OIG’s focus on the FBI and DOJ's handling of the Clinton investigation and report will likely reveal numerous deficiencies in the underlying probe. The deficiencies exposed will prompt calls for a new, unbiased, and thorough investigation of Clinton. ... Further, in discussing "certain underlying investigative decisions were based on improper considerations," look for the IG report to focus on Comey's drafting of a memo exonerating Hillary Clinton while the probe was still ongoing and before the FBI had interviewed Hillary and two of her top aides. ... The second aspect of the OIG’s investigation focused on "[a]llegations that the FBI Deputy Director should have been recused from participating in certain investigative matters." While the earlier IG report addressed McCabe's leaking and lies about it, this portion of the report will address McCabe's participation in the Clinton investigation given the conflict of interest stemming from his wife’s unsuccessful senatorial run in Virginia.
Documents obtained in a Freedom of Information Act request revealed that "[g]roups aligned with Clinton and McAuliffe donated $675,000 to Jill McCabe’s Senate campaign which amounted to nearly 40 percent of the campaign's total funds.” In addition to discussing whether McCabe should have recused from the investigation, Horowitz's report will likely discuss the FBI’s ethics office decision that recusal was not required, and the FBI's creation of "talking points" to counter complaints about McCabe's participation in the Clinton probe. The third component of the OIG's investigation looked at "[a]llegations that the Department’s Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs improperly disclosed non-public information to the Clinton campaign and/or should have been recused from participating in certain matters." This portion of Horowitz’s report will focus on Peter Kadzik's role in the investigation and whether he "tipped off Clinton presidential campaign chairman John Podesta about two issues: an upcoming hearing where a Justice Department official would be asked about the Clinton emails, and the timing of the release of some Clinton emails." Kadzik, who has since left his role as the DOJ's assistant attorney general, "previously worked for Podesta as an attorney."

I did a serious double-take on that sentence. At first blush, it sounds like the OIG report lied about McCabe's leaking.
Seriously, though, it looks the primary thing to look for is whether the IG calls for a new investigation into Hill-Dog's server. Am I reading that correctly? It'll have an accounting of any perfidy but the real meat will be whether it calls for a new investigation?

If Manafort is indicted (which he was) tried and convicted, the Podesta Bros should get the same, because they did the same thing.
Mueller went after Manafort because he thought he could flip Manafort to get to Trump.
Manafort either didn't really know that much, or he is unwilling to play this game, or actually knows there was no Russian collusion, and there has nothing to trade with Mueller. Mueller probably knows this too, but will not give up the game until the last hand is played, which is still years away.

There is a sense that it's true Comey was unfair to Hillary by describing all of her failings while exonerating her. But not in the sense that it singles out Hillary. This happens all the damn time, and usually to people more deserving of exoneration than Hillary.
The same is true of the Bill Clinton investigation. Was it unfair that his lies on an unrelated subject became the focus? Sure, but not in the sense that he was singled out. Prosecutors do this all the time, at all levels; once you're singled out for investigation, especially by state-level departments, it is likely that they will keep searching long after they find out you didn't commit the crime they originally "suspected" you of. They will look for the most trivial oversight with the biggest potential penalty attached to it and force a settlement that way.
If all of our laws made sense, that would be one thing. If you're being investigated for murder and it turns out you didn't murder someone but raped someone else, then yeah, you need to be prosecuted. But if they're looking for tax evasion, and it turns out you reported the income on form 1020 instead of form LOQ because of the complexity and vagueness of the laws, that's wrong.

It's unfortunate people use the very misleading and no less wordy "email investigation" or "private server" issue. Those issues, actually, relate to *another* important federal law that was obviously, massively, systematically and knowingly violated - Federal Records Act. I hope the IG will at least mention this gigantic, completely ignored aspect to the State scandal.
It's Espionage Act violations, and related obstruction of justice actions. That's what's at issue - not just "emails" and "private servers".

It's actually much worse than that. Comey violated or at least greatly modified FBI standard policy by refusing to let field FBI agents fun the investigation and instead had it run by McCabe, Strzok and the gang at FBI HQ. He did this for the sole purpose of being able to control who saw the information and to be able to control the outcome.
He had to go public with the investigation because he was changing policy and basically controlling the whole thing and this allowed him to make the ludicrous statement finding her guilty but declining to recommend prosecution.
The media will ignore this of course but I expect it to be made clear by Horowitz for those willing to actually read the report.

Some Brit tabloids have been pursuing this, and I think they've stumbled on the real story of his suicide, which is pretty sad. It was written that after his divorce, Bourdain was very depressed and morose, and fell even worse into drug use and alcoholism, which had always plagued him. But then he met Argento a year or so ago, and he fell absolutely, totally head over heels for her. Sounds like he was MUCH more in love with her than she with him, which makes sense since she was HOT and he was just some kinda famous old guy who was way past his prime.
Being Good Leftists, they often made statements that they had an "Open Relationship", that neither one would try to control what the other partner could do, or who they could see. The problem was that apparently Anthony was so besotted with Argento that he couldn't bear to be with anyone else. She was - not quite so devoted.
So last week, they met in France, but then Anthony had to stay in his hotel room alone in France, while Argento jetted off to Rome, and soon she let some photos get posted of her hugging and kissing the much younger, much hotter, Italian dude she was banging while poor old lovesick Anthony was stuck in a hotel room with nothing but a bottle of Johnny Walker for company. Not hard to imagine that he realized that this is what it was always going to be like, and that he made the decision to Shuffle Off this Mortal Coil not long after.
