Why should I care? He will not run in the NC election so, I cannot vote for him. If he turns to philanthropy I cannot tell him how to spend his money. Only ifhe want to run in the Presidential Election will I get a voice in the matter, and personally the way things are going for Trump so far, it will be suicide for anyone to run. If you're a CEO and suddenly want to run for president, you need Trump to be successful and re-elected.
Otherwise that angle is shot for at least a generation. Posted by: TheJamesMadison She's wrong for more than one reason. First, Trump wasn't elected because he was a CEO. He was elected because everyone knew his name, aka Q score. He won because he had cultural cache from being a celebrity, not from being a businessman - that's coincidental. ( think how many 1000's of successful biz people are out there with zero fame ) We're in the age of celebrity and it's time the GOP work with this reality. Obama was made a celebrity in a years time before he was elected by an overly-enthusiastic MSM in non-stop 24/7 propaganda mode. The GOP will never be able to replicate that because of the MSM's leftist nature. Another CEO could run and win again as long as that person is a household name. It will no longer be a pageant...but a competition. The mission statement changed too, but I didn't memorize it. I thought for sure Ace would have already posted, but I didn't see it. I have not watched the show in decades, but it will be interesting to see how this evolves. It'll be a viewer draw in the beginning to see the changes...after that...not so sure. I didn't know why y'all were talking about Kate Spade 'til I saw that she's a suicide.
That is ineffably tragic. I've only known well two people who took their own lives and they were both smart and beautiful and seemed to have it all. To bring things back to Horde level, Chelsea Clinton tweeted about it: Chelsea Clinton @ChelseaClinton My grandmother gave me my first Kate Spade bag when I was in college. I still have it. Holding Kate's family, friends and loved ones in my heart. Yes, a beautiful successful woman took her own life and you relate this to a purse someone gave you. "Our law enforcement sources confirm the note Kate left behind was addressed to her daughter ... telling the 13-year-old the suicide wasn't her fault."
At least she did this. Too many parents commit suicide and kids are left wondering what they did it; why they were abandoned. Depression is a disease. The end stage is death. This is so sad. Posted by: professor disarray, gumdrop gorilla channel at June 05, 2018 02:47 PM (k2yk7) 385

I'm always surprised when people commit suicide by hanging. It is a horrible way to die. There is no turning back either. But they said it was a scarf on her bedroom door knob. That is...I mean...I need to understand this much more.

A kidr even many adults- will not believe that it wasn't in some way their fault, or that they should have been able to have done something, although if you have to take your life because of depression I suppose it's better to leave that kind of note. I have shared this before. I was nine when my dad disappeared-never found his body, no note. Don't know if got lost in the woods of Canada or just killed himself there. It took me years and counseling to stop thinking "If I had gone fishing with him this wouldn't have happened."
And yes, I'm o.k. and have been for years. last time there was talk of depression on here I left an article-a woman posted a picture of her daughter before her husband killed himself and a post about what suicide does to survivors. If anyone is that depressed here cal a suicide helpline now. people in your life need you. It doesn't matter if you think they don't. https://tinyurl.com/ydhkj88e Posted by: FenelonSpoke at June 05, 2018 02:57 PM (vw6r3) 389

I had to look to see if this was sudden with Kate Spade, or she had long standing depression.
"She was 55 years old and suffering from clinical depression, for which she was taking medication. "Kate Valentine, formerly known as Kate Spade, was an American fashion designer and businesswoman. She was known to suffer from depression." Clinical depression is a Beast. It is different than garden variety or situational depression. Keep that in mind before you judge her too harshly.
