Sure, but you make my point for me. You can post for 1.5 hours and people can pretty much easily understand what you're saying with just a few typos here and there.
I think autofill has probably done much more damage. I've volunteered at schools and watched kids on a tablet or computer hit the first few letters of something and then just wait for the computer to pull up what they're looking for. I know adults do it hundreds, if not thousands or tens of thousands, of times more.

Here's what I can say. If they are seeking general medical services, they just have to be skilled at navigating the labyrinth of getting the right doc. Lots of older Vets have a primary care doc they trust, and would not consider going anywhere else. But getting eligible for services in that VA, you have to be able to advocate for yourself. Not let the pencil pushers just assign any random meathead.
Now, if they're dealing with specific service connected conditions,I would suggest if they already get decent services where they are, have their docs who are providing those services give them a heads up on who to seek out at that VA. If it's any sort of specialized care, they know who is good and who isn't.

A note on Asian American voting for Commiecrats:
1. It depends upon the particular ethnic enclave. Some like the Viets definitely do not.
2. A blogger named Arthur Hu had a good analysis of this, that Asian Americans find themselves often living in Commiecrat political areas (like San Francisco, and now CA in general), and cynically vote for the strong horse, even when they do not believe a word of it.

My daughter has dyslexia. I'm all for autocorrect as a tool to help her learn the correct spelling. But I hate the crutch that autofill has become.
We homeschooled her this year due to bullying issues (it truly sucks when you are bullied by the sports stars and faculty kids, because they will always get a free pass), and it became quite apparent to us how much she had come to rely on these because we made her actually write papers by hand on...you know...paper.

Fortunately there's no service-related issues. Mostly it's just that Grampa is almost 95 and we don't want him to have the sort of Dr who decides he's too old to bother with. He's lived longer than any male in his family that he knows of, and is the only known survivor of the first round of chemotherapy testing, and doesn't have lots longer but we want him to have caring medical care not be given the idea the staff resents that he's lived this long.
Asking the current Drs. for recommendations is a good idea.

It used to be a safe assumption that kids would read well-edited books, and the newspapers and magazines, and get a feel for spelling and proper usage.
Then some disease killed all the editors on this continent. Sad, really.
You can find the sorts of errors, every day in the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, that are caused by cut-and-paste compositing on-screen by the writer, and never seen by another human until the print version hits the street.

Does he belong to any service organizations? VFW, American Legion, or some other? If so, you might contact the local chapter, find the fellas in the area who have been using VA services. I'm sure there are some WWII era guys still around, and some of them are still reasonably active. Ask those guys for recommendations.
Even if he doesn't belong, I bet you could reach out to them anyway. They'll welcome a "newcomer" into their AO!

The US southern border is over 1800 miles long, and a lot of it is the most inhospitable and difficult to reach terrain in North America. You simply can't just build a wall through a lot of it.
It's easy to criticize the idea of a defensible perimeter, but for a big stretch of the border, probably from about Del Rio over to Tucson, pulling back to I-10 and trying to control the flow at that barrier is the best, most rational option. The people who live in no-mans land, sadly, should get out of there.

Dad was a nuke tech and stationed in Germany during Vietnam (figured he'd be fixing planes in the jungle so was happy to not do that) so I don't know if he'd qualify. It's certainly worth mentioning to them.

My first post-separation bachelor place was a winter rental out by a lighthouse, basically on a jetty. It came with some version of water rat.
I'm not a rat expert. They were smaller than NYC subway rats, basically fist-sized bodies.
Well, Mommy was coming to visit and I was poisoning the rats but poison was taking too long and she was coming soon and having Mommy and water rats under the same roof was not a good idea.
So I got glue traps. They worked. They also presented a new problem. Glue traps trap, but do not kill, rats. The solution was Maxwell's Rubber Mallett.
Two lessons learned: (i) trapped rats mewl in a really unnerving manner; (b) smashed rat brain is shockingly white.

Our old house had mice, so we did both regular mouse traps and glue traps. One night I had fallen asleep on the couch of the family room and was awoken by a scraaaatch-scraaaaatch-scraaaatch sound. With a flashlight discovered the source of the noise: the trap under a bureau had 5 baby mice, with the one live one using its two front legs in attempt to pull his hind legs free, dragging the whole thing forward with each pull. *shivers* Picked it up with dustbin w/a long handle and threw it out the back door.

You simply can't just build a wall through a lot of it.
It's easy to criticize the idea of a defensible perimeter, but for a

And personally, as long as they keep the murders in inner cities and no-go zones, I think it is good for society. I just wish they'd pick up the pace a little.

Kim is playing a negotiating game; Trump knows this game, and is playing too. They'll be back at the table. This is a stage.
About the border: there will be no freaking pulling back. One of the things that made me take a chance on Trump was his promise to build a wall and increase border control in general. I enjoy his other successes and consider his presidency great so far, but I won't call it a success until we see progress on the border.
