Four Socialist Candidates Win Democratic House Primaries in Pennsylvania

OUT: It's #Racist to call Democrats Socialist

IN: It's #Racist not to be Socialist

...

The DSA [Democratic Socialists of America] hailed the legislative victories as a huge moment for the socialist movement.

Arielle Cohen, co-chair of the Pittsburgh DSA chapter, told HuffPost that she feels a "monumental shift" after the victories, noting DSA's growing membership since President Trump's election.

"We won on popular demands that were deemed impossible. We won on health care for all, we won on free education," she said.

"We're turning the state the right shade of red tonight," she added.

Number of media stories which will decry the Democrats' turn towards socialism and extremism: zero.

In the Pittsburgh area, Summer Lee and Sara Innamorato, Democrats who are both members of the DSA, won primaries for state House Districts 34 and 21.

Lee and Innamorato defeated state Reps. Paul Costa and Dom Costa, both Democrats. They do not have Republican opponents in the general election.

So thats a win.

So out of curiosity I found the "Democratic Socialists of America" web site (at the time at least, they were even using the same "rose" logo as the Brit Socialists were), and sure enough, they had a list of all their members who were in Congress, and it was a long one. To be sure, this was after the Repubs had won control of Congress, but there were still over a hundred names (I recognized most of them) of Congress members who were not just "Democrats" but in fact DSA members. And this was back in the late 1990s....

I guess the only difference is that now they are willing to come out of the closet, so to speak...

If you don't want gun confiscation, you're a terrorist. I'm pretty sure that's DWS et al's position.

Thing is she's calling not the NRA but the vast majority of Americans terrorists because the NRA could disappear tomorrow, and the very same "members" would have the exact same beliefs as before but would likely be motivated to be even more strident about the 2nd Amendment.

The tech industry is prime offender number one.

The youth and easy success of tech has given them an overblown sense of their worth, wisdom, and abilities. That's why we are seeing it there, IMO. Plus, may focused entirely on tech and didn't really learn any other lessons.

The ego though, the arrogance, the totalitarian bent and lack of any humility is chilling to me. They have a moral self righteousness that is more dangerous than just about anything.

That line is a trick - Mueller won't indict Trump, because legally, there's a very solid case to be made that a sitting President cannot be indicted. 346 More from the CTH link:

Secondly, the IG report does not include criminal referrals. The final IG report is a statement of facts. The IG report only provides the facts to decision-making leadership, who then decide what to do with those facts. However, if the IG discovers evidence of unlawful or illegal activity during the course of his/her investigation, the IG has a legal and ethical responsibility to tell the head of the DOJ immediately.

The IG cannot keep evidence of unlawful conduct hidden until the release of the report.

This is important because Attorney General Jeff Sessions appointed U.S. Attorney John Huber to join IG Horowitz toward the end of last year (2017).

The federal attorney (Huber) then constructs a parallel investigation based on the evidence the IG has discovered.

However, as with all criminal investigations, Prosecutor John Huber would then fire-wall the IG from his own expanded criminal investigative inquiry.

It is critical to understand what happens when a U.S. Attorney joins with the OIG. The evidence flow only goes one-way. The IG is not participating in a criminal investigation. The IG is only looking at facts within his investigation and shares any pertinent investigative findings with the U.S. Attorney. The U.S. attorney does not provide the IG with findings from his criminal investigation.

352 Impeachment is why this all comes down to the Mid-Term elections. If the much vaunted "Blue Wave" happens, Trump's allies would be scared and Dem's will make a big try to impeach. However, if Trump's allies come out looking good, and the GOP hangs onto both houses, then this shitshow is finished, and Trump can easily fire Mueller the day after the votes are counted.

It's all about the midterms, and nothing else now.

378 President Trump's attorney, Rudy Giuliani, told Fox News on Wednesday that special counsel Robert Mueller has told the president's legal team he will follow Justice Department guidance and not seek an indictment against Trump.

Giuliani, himself a former federal prosecutor and mayor of New York City, also told Fox News that Mueller's investigators have not responded to five information requests from the president's team. That has forced Trump's legal team to push off making a decision about whether the president will sit for an interview with the special counsel -- a decision they had hoped to reach by Thursday.

The precedent that federal prosecutors cannot indict a sitting president is laid out in a 1999 Justice Department memo. Giuliani told Fox News that Mueller has no choice but to follow its guidance.

"This case is essentially over," Giuliani said. "They're just in denial."
