Cheesecake Factory Employees Reportedly Harass Black Man Wearing a "MAGA" Hat, Demanding He Be Thrown Out of the Restaurant; Some Say They Also Called Him the N-Word

Lovely.

"I got up and went to the restroom, my girlfriend followed me, and as we were walking back, a group of [the employees] came out from the back and they just started clapping and yelling, and just screaming things at me," Joseph said. This was corroborated by another witness, who said that the employees in the kitchen booed loudly as Joseph walked by.

According to witnesses, some of the employees even referred to Joseph as a "n**ger" throughout the ordeal.

A witness told The Daily Wire that the employees "looked like a lynch mob and they couldn't stand to see a black man wearing a hat that showed support for the president."

The Cheesecake Factor says it has "suspended" the employees pending the investigation.

They also say that the media is blowing reports of their employees behaving like a lynch mob and calling a black man "n***er" out of proportion.

Well, they seem to specifically deny the "lynch mob" claim, stating that the employees were gathered in one place during a shift-change which might have looked like a lynch mob to the uninformed.

Yeah... maybe. And maybe it's just as the reports have it.

As Twitchy wonders: Will this even get 10% of the coverage the Starbucks noncident got? 5%? 1%?

101 From the description, it sounds like their table was near the break area which is probably just off the kitchen - in other words they had a really lousy table (because of the hat?)

Sounds like they were within earshot and eyeshot and some of the employees started talking smack. Dude probably defended himself vocally and some of the employees approached the table.

At some point he went to the men's room and his gf followed because who would want to be alone at that table.

But like I pondered up above, there has to be at the least one manager present at a staff meeting, usually in this case the two shift managers, the one coming on and the one coming off.

Posted by: Harry Paratestes at May 16, 2018 02:49 PM

I've been in Target and they have employee "huddles" on the sales floor during regular business hours. Head scratcher, but it happens. Is it a new thing? IDK.

When I worked in retail, eons ago, our meetings were always done without disrupting the customers -- prior to store opening its doors for the day. The night shift had meetings in a closed conference room prior to the shift starting.

If one makes one's politics known, and the owners for whatever reason want that person gone, they can be made gone.

And the only owners doing this will be SJW leftists.

Last night there was Amal Clooney giving a graduation speech at Vanderbilt. The applause lines came from her White House swipes.

But the one thing that I found really...well...arrogant and divisive was her saying it was "our world now." Meaning the grads and her, I guess. She went on with that, and I found it divisive. Like, the rest of us not college aged are disposable and got it all wrong. I don't like her, and she's not American and I found the whole thing distasteful. Wish her and George had stayed in Europe.

This Cheesecake story made me think of her words.

These people, Spike Lee too, are insufferable and blinded. It reminds me of the South Park episode where they are so in love with themselves they bend over to smell their own farts.

Anyway, this divide and conquer, and 16 yo should vote, is just crazy talk. Also the support for Marxism & Islam & the Resistance. I can only hope most people aren't buying it and the the backlash will be severe.

Again, fast twatter/glance level of detail here, but the timing is that this task force lines up with early Trump primary wins, and the more serious efforts later sort of line up with Trump becoming odds-on GOP nominee (when was that clear? IN primary - wasn't that when his delegate count hit the minimum required?).

Yeah they all went nuts with low-sodium so the flavor suffers some (salt helps cooking to bring out flavors). So I agree, you gotta pile on the table salt to bring it up to speed.

Salt is harmless unless you eat big fist fulls of the stuff. Its not only critical to human metabolism but all those fears of high blood pressure ended up being total lies. But doctors still shovel that crap and food companies swallowed it whole.

358 I see no alternative, in the end, to Trump declassifying all the key "intel" related to Russki election shenanigans.

One - it's about the most public and broadly important topics - election integrity.

Two - it is extremely unlikely to involve truly valuable sources and methods (pro tip: when you talk publicly about an issue/problem, you usually have tipped/confirmed your methodology, in this instance, definitely so).

Three - the intel community, DOJ, and FBI simply do not have the credibility for the American people to rely on their - or the SSCI - to tell them the story. The public has to be given the chance to decide for itself.

417 406 I agree they shove sugar in everything but watch any cooking show around, watch any great chef, look at any quality recipe book and you'll see how much salt goes into good cooking. You don't want so much that it tastes like salt, but salt chemically just makes everything taste like... more of what it is. Its a flavor enhancer. I used to undersalt on the theory that you could add more at the table to flavor but I learned.
Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at May 16, 2018 03:35 PM (39g3+)

Yeah, I think it's just personal preference. I agree, salt added during cooking > salt added at the table.

I personally am not a huge salt guy, but when I cook for other people, they all ask for salt. Salt just doesn't taste good to me. BUT, on the flip side -- I think a little salt and pepper on a steak before you grill it is one of the best things a human can eat.

but I'd never salt a steak at the table.

422 (407)I've heard the Rolling Stones are pissed Trump uses their 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' at his rallies. But he pays the fee and plays it anyway.

Ironically ironic. Dontcha think?

425 We all really appreciated the gesture, but I'd rather stick to the chicken stew in the MREs.

I hate several of the Mark I MREs back in the early 90s and they were really good food. Super heavy but great flavors, I was proud we were getting that kind of quality to our military. And I guess they've gotten even better since then.

Still, after a while everything gets old, and I bet eating those day in and day out 3 meals a day starts to get pretty bad.

426 This is part of the normalization of abusing conservatives in public and of there being no consequences for it. It's approaching how things are in Europe, where Muslim immigrants are free to harass Jews and the police won't intervene unless it seems to be a life threatening situation.

This kind of stuff needs to be ruthlessly punished.

431 He claims that Trump promoted one of their concerts in 1989 and gave himself top billing.

I'm pretty sure anyone who knows Trump is not surprised by this. It is one of his less admirable traits. It is one of those things people knew and didn't like. It's not a revelation. It seems people are not aware that people knew Trump had warts. But compared to Pantsuit's leprosy, he was a better choice.

Celebrities really are amazing. Trump has given tax cuts and brought back jobs, but he didn't give us top billing in 1989, so get rid of him. smh

.Yep salt does it for me. I used to have zero issues with any amount of salt intake but once I started on metoporol highish salt intake will jack my heart rhythm all over the place and cause a panic if I have an EKG within a few hours after eating something salty.

Could be the guy was inspired by Starbucks to troll them, hoping to get a payout and/or free cheesecake for life. Or he could be a comedian or a performance artist. Most likely, just a guy with a hankering for some cheesecake.

The media culture and the political culture in this country has degraded into delusional mental illness.

These hypocritical assholes genuinely believe they are justified in targeting Trump supporters for verbal (and sometimes even physical) abuse.

And hypocritical assholes in the press believe they are justified in downplaying (or even ignoring) it when the first set of hypocritical assholes get caught red handed.
