Wife's sister and her husband plus our Daughter came by yesterday and everything but my stuff over here with the computer and the stereo system have been packed off to a storage building over in town. All of the floor standing bookshelves have been emptied and that was a LOT of books and stuff.

Today I have to move my stereo system to the kitchen along with this computer. I have already moved that old clunker I was using while this one was down.

Back in the mid-70s my chief was paying $2,000/month for an apartment in SF. I suspect it is a LOT more now. I was renting an apartment in Union City at that time (about 25 mile South of Oakland). It cost $350/month. I checked a couple of years ago and even those are now going for $1500/month.

Yes, I have owned tens of thousands of slaves. Actually the Jim crow laws were invented in the North. It was either your State or Indiana that made it illegal for any blacks to move into the State BEFORE the civil war. And segregation has occurred (and is still occurring) in the North.

Here in Texas to (supposedly a free state) drive and license a vehicle requires a visit for an inspection, then to tax office, then to get drivers license. Imagine is when checking out on Amazon you had to got to the Post Office and buy stamps to get your package shipped.

Federal law requires a 1 year warranty on a new home (don't know about old homes). I had a few minor claims on my house after I bought it and they were readily fixed. But if I tried to get anything after about 10 years I would have been SOL. The builder had had a heart attack and died.

I know with garlic you wipe your hands on a stainless steel sink and that neutralizes the odor. Never had a problem with onions that I recall. I think I do the same thing after chopping just about anything.

The (original) KKK was created to keep blacks from the polls. White males who served in the Confederacy were not allowed to vote. And since women could not vote anyway that left the only voters to be male blacks.

When the organization turned into a crazy lynch mob most of the reputable people dropped out.
