1 Good Morning Morons; today is Saturday, April 14, 2018. On this day in 1935 the Black Sunday dust storm, considered one of the worst storms of the Dust Bowl, swept across the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles and neighboring areas. What most people do not know is that these dust storms were primarily caused by stupid government policy combined with a drought which was common for this area.

6 IL is catching up to SC for motorists who are suspected of DUI and refuse to take the breathalyzer test. The cops radio in an instant blood test request to a judge. In SC if you refuse either the breathalyzer or the blood test you will automatically lose your license for 30 days and still go to court.

They would absolutely hate mine because I would push to abolish the dept of education which was illegally established by Jimmy Peanut and an all Democrat congress. And... good morning!

As to Syria, the reason we have to deal with the mess there is because of one man - BARACK OBAMA.

That said, we should do as much as we can from 50,000 feet above and 10 miles offshore to degrade everyone there, especially the Iranians.

Yes, we have no dog in the fight, but looking beyond the civil war aspect, the strategic nature of the country demands we pay some attention to what entity ultimately controls it.

32 Teresa May was on earlier, saying there have been multiple uses of chemical weapons, and more being manufactured. She offered some evidence, but said she couldn't reveal it all. They claim a lot of evidence. Others like Alex Jones are sure it is a "false flag" because Assad would not want to invite trouble just as we were allegedly leaving.

I can't tell what is really going on, but hard to figure how those missiles cost $1.59M each. Seems by now the mass production should be down to $100K each.

hard to say what the grand strategy is, regarding stopping Iran from getting nukes, and what we expect to get out of stopping Assad. May noted chemicals used in the UK (murder suspected by Russia) as reason to stop the "normalization" of chem weapons, as was happening with Assad's repeated use.

At least we got the uK and France on board, it seems. Too bad we can't even trust our own FBI/CIA etc. Thanks Obama/Hillary and fellow mobsters.

I don't have a link, but I seem to remember there being a major story about huge amounts of chemical weapons being found and destroyed in Iraq, but it only showed up once, and in British media.

The reason I remember is because it was the opening day of the London Olympics, so no one paid any attention.

Wasn't it within the last few years that Texas GOP legislators attempted to pass a state law requiring abortion providers' medical facilities to be up to the same/similar standards as an ER/hospital? The idea being that if something goes wrong the clinics should be setup to handle it. The Dems strongly opposed it. They'd rather look the other way at Gosnell-like clinics than allow more standards for, and oversight of, abortion clinics.

I guess this BS study was to flip the inconvenient truth, eh?

Like a voluntary Agenda 21, the policy that Ben Carson just discontinued at the HUD.

Yeah, the latter will be harassed with all sorts of requirements and bear responsibility for anything bad that happens.

There are a lot of problems in the world including North Korea where we are trying to get them to give up their nukes without a fight. It was also a message to Iran and Russia and other bad actors like all forms of radical Islam. Last night was a statement to all of them.

The message is we don't care about your state of the art Russian defensive missiles. If you cross our red line which has long included the use of WMD or any other red line we establish, we will come across an ocean and punch you in the face then go home, bang the prom queen and sleep soundly and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it. So, it's a matter of scale? In other words, the dictator can use mechanized infantry, air assets and an army against his citizens, but the citizenry somehow has a stick, and a big enough one at that to counter and make it an even fight?

taxpayer supported translators in every single aspect of public life
taxpayer supported Medicaid administrators..
and bureaucrats.
Not not mention all the nonprofits hiring lobbyists, marketers, lawyers and digital experts trying to pull even more money and divert more resources from government and citizens.

..Illegal immigration means full, lifetime employment for a parasite class of government/nonprofit/education workers that only serve the illegals at the expense of citizens. To say nothing of increased LEO, firemen, and teachers required.

The land was covered with tall grass which held the soil in place. The gov decided to open it up for homesteading/farming. The cattlemen and local tribes warned them that it would be a disaster but they wouldn't listen. Lo and behold exactly what the ranchers and tribes predicted happened. 146 >>I get that we're being the international police person, it's the argument that doesn't seem logical.

I think this strike has to be seen in the bigger picture of what Trump is trying to do in the region. He is trying to reorder the structure that Obama put into place.

Obama gave up our leadership role in the Middle East and let our longtime allies like the Saudis, Egypt and other Sunni states be put under the thumb of Iran, Russia and their allies. It was no coincidence that Qatar was at the White House the other day pledging their allegiance to Trump's plan and trashing Iran. Trump has been working to help realign the power base in the Middle East since almost Day 1 of his administration and the Saudis and other have followed his lead.

Many of our bombers took off last night from bases in Qatar and flew through Saudi air space to hit Syria. That was a big message to Russia and Iran as well as to our allies. When Trump went to Saudi early in his administration he told them clearly that it was up to them to drive terrorism and bad actors out of the region. We would have their back and provide strategic support but they had to finally get into the game and take the lead. He said it again last night after the attack.

Like it or not the Middle East is a very strategic region and we can't cede it to Russia and Iran which is exactly what Obama did for 8 years.

168 Re Syria - you'll pardon my saying but there are far too many arguments "against" that sound like the "more than 10 miles from me" guy that used to be around here. I think we have truly lost the will to declare things wrong or evil by saying you can't fix everything so why try anything. We are a better people than that, that's American exceptionalism rooted in faith in my humble view.

170 And... good morning!

That's mostly right.

A YUGE part of this is walking back from Obama's feckless "US as Limp Paper Tiger" Foreign Policy.

People forget that the Democrat/Progtard/Globalist publicly stated goal (by Madeline Albright) going back at least to BJ Clinton is a Multi-Power World Divided into Regions of Power/Influence all of which are Equal and as we've seen, in essence borderless.

Obama destruction of our Armed Forces was a big part of that-

so-o-o-o-o-o now we have to prove to a-holes like Iran and NK (mostly) and China and Russia (secondarily) that we mean what we say and will back it up militarily if provoked.

Syria provide the morally right opportunity at the right time in the right place.

A noble sentiment, but do you really think an American style Jeffersonian Constitutional Republic can possibly arise ANYWHERE in the entire Middle East?

I looked for this photo yesterday on the 'gun girl thread' because it
showed more of those skin tight jeans on her legs. Here it is in an
article about ABC calling the cops on her.

The reporters actions to call the police on her is a clear conspiracy against rights and a violation of 18 U.S. Code 241. I will be filing a complaint with the FBI about them (already started writing it). Hope they enjoy their ten year vacation at Club Fed.

177 The article is interesting in that it includes many
pictures of the place, as well as indications that there are a couple of
secret underground places. The place is much, much larger and more
developed than I had imagined.

I always thought everyone here was joking about such an island...But it exists (or did). According to the article, Bill and many other famous people have visited the island. (multiple times)...All I can say is wow!

179 When Obama was elected, the left launched a two-pronged defensive strategy. Any criticism of Obama is racist. Any attempt to impeach him will be met by massive protests and civil unrest. With the raid on Trump's lawyer and the never-ending saga which is Mueller, the right needs to launch a similar strategy. Trump is the anti-obama; you can say whatever you want about him and no one will come after you. The left is trying to remove Trump because they don't perceive a downside. They never follow the rules more than they need to (never because its the right or moral thing to do). If we don't let them know how big the downside will be, these idiots will drag us into a civil war.
