We need a new movement to supersede the outdated and flat-out wrong "neocon" sensibility. I am all for American involvement in geopolitical machinations, including the use of military force. But it cannot be the chaotic, idiotic and murderous open-ended kind favored by dinosaurs like John McCain. Being the catalyst for others to do the heavy lifting in their own countries and spheres of influence is a much smarter way of maintaining control over our interests. Air power? Sure! Logistical and training support? Fantastic! But putting American boots on the ground must be examined carefully and ruthlessly, with clear, unequivocal goals in mind and equally clear end-points. And most of all, those end-points must not be some magical time in the future when the country at hand is transformed into a gentle liberal democracy. Yes, it happened a few times after WWII, but does anyone seriously entertain the notion that we can take Shitcanistan and turn it into Japan 2.0?

Nowadays, it seems to be a mix of, well, just about anything the speaker dislikes which isn't avowedly leftist. To take one example, George Will gets called a "neocon" a lot. This is arrant BS. For one thing, he was massively skeptical about the converts mentioned above, for another, he was from the start opposed to the idea of nation building in Iraq (or generally, most of what the two Bushes pushed.) This is not to say he isn't full of crap in many ways, but whatever those are, they are not neocon.
More generally, it originally meant former libs embracing Reagan; it seems to have been transmuted into "Bushism", and that not very strictly defined.
Just drop the term. More specific descriptions might be useful; this one has become as useless as "fascist" and "democracy".

I use Pale Moon for other stuff, and have had no trouble with it. But here I use Opera. Yes, I know the Chicoms have their fingers in it, but it's the best I've found for video/audio. My wife was having trouble with Firefox stalling when she watched things; so I DL'd Opera for her. As it happened, it was on her birthday, and she said it was the best present I gave her that day.

Yeah I've noticed a lot of that, too. When a man is ever actually shown he's either a white guy, or a little guy, or he's not with the woman at all -- he's the narrator or the guy selling the product, not a husband or anything.
And what concerns me is that these ads are not random. They are designed based on extremely expensive, careful studies of behavior, patterns, cultural norms, and what will most appeal to their target audience (my guess is, single moms). One of those news programs sent a TV crew with couple of Muslim guys, all decked out in robes and prayer hat, to what they deemed the most racist part of the country. Kids show up praising how cool the car is, and oohing and ahhhing at its dubious features like a "secret compartment" that shows up when the nav screen lifts away. Kids declare that mom should get this car.
There is no dad.
Its not about pitching to kids, its about pitching to buyers, using children as the ultimate arbiters. This will make your children happy, they will approve.

The obvious problem with the idea is that the entire reason Japan 1.0 could become Japan 2.0 is that it had a relatively advanced and cohesive culture where everyone was raised with a very strong sense of Duty and Honor. That culture had become militarized and expansionist, hence the war, but it just needed to be demilitarized and the existing culture was more than adequate to support a thriving modern state. Same thing for Germany.
What do you have in the Arab regions? No duty to anything, no honor, no civilization. Knock out the military regimes who keep the local barbarians in line and all you have is MadMaxistan forever. As a Christian, I've never really understood the purpose of the book of Revelation.
Its for comfort: in the end, God wins. Also, to help make sense of history and what is happening, that is all part of a plan and working out according to His will, so we needn't worry as much as we do.
The reason its so cryptic and encoded is threefold.
First, the genre is apocalyptic literature, which is in every instance in the Bible the same pattern of odd images, codes, and sometimes bizarre concepts.
Second, the writer is a human being attempting to explain the incomprehensible and unknowable. Basically God filled John's brain with things an entire college of the smartest people on earth would struggle to comprehend, let alone describe.
And third, like all prophecy, it has multiple meanings and layers. The first layer is always "imminent" or historical. For example, much of the book of Revelation is about Rome and its persecution of Christians. However, there is always more meaning, with a future fulfillment, where ultimately the truth that all these shadows and precursors are pointing toward. Yes, Nero is an awful bastard, but he's not the ultimate evil which will one day be overcome.
John wrote in these images and themes as a way of reaching people safely with letters about current events and future fulfillment that wouldn't get him or the people with the letters killed for condemning the Emperor. So that's partly why its so cryptic.

Otherwise, what's the point?
But there are things in there that only sort of make sense with today's technology, things like "the world saw XYZ" would make sense in the world of television where things can be broadcast globally.
Or the "mark of the beast" for the buying and selling of gods could be something like an RFID chip in a cashless society, etc.

There's some uncertainty whether the word is for a specific area in Africa or just Africans but yes: the word used for blacks is the same word used for slave (Abd).
Why? Because that's all blacks were (and effectively still are) to Arabs. They walked so many slaves back to the Middle east to be castrated and enslaved (or put in harems, of somewhat attractive) that the route was lined with bones.

I know me supporting my own claim isn't helpful, but I had that confirmed (maybe here) after watching a documentary about slaves in the middle east and noticing that the same word was said in Arabic when the subtitles were either "African" or "slave".

That wouldn't necessarily all be written down, IMO. It could be meant to be a mystery that makes you ask, "I wonder what that's supposed to mean?"
Then The Big Guy would fill in the blanks for you with understanding from within (or, with more revelation, if you will).

imo it is the OligarchMafia that is putting drug profits above the interests of our citizenry. They make money off the legit corporations, but they can make big bucks off making sure the drug/human trafficking avoids prosecution.
