2 Good Morning Morons; today is Sunday, April 8, 2018. On this day in 1952 President Harry Truman called for the seizure of all domestic steel mills in an attempt to prevent the 1952 steel strike. FDR Jr was thwarted in a rare occurrence by the FDR SCOTUS who said you can't do that shit.

Usually global warming makes it warmer. But when warm water flows into the arctic and unleashes the polar vortex it makes things colder than normal. Thus even warming can cause cooling. The point is stop doubting global warming. It is escalating even if your pea brain cannot comprehend why.

Posted by: JTB at April 08, 2018 07:52 AM

I was checking the 'degree day' records for Philadelphia, where it's been unrelenting 10 to 20 degree below average temps for nearly the entire winter.

They were showing it warmer then average. In other words, less fuel /heat required.

We're being gaslighted. The pricks are persistent, I'll say that about them.

98 74 ... Morning votermom,

Our percolator is a Farberware stainless steel 'Yosemite' 8 cup. I am the only coffee drinker in the house so it is enough for a typical day's consumption. Inexpensive and darn near indestructible. Ours is over 30 years old. I got a backup locally in case I needed more coffee than usual. The 4,000 plus reviews for it on Amazon are overwhelmingly five star. For some reason this pot and method makes the coffee less acidic so more of the coffee flavor comes through. The only downside is you have to watch the temp and time the perking, not just press a switch. I just make a pot while cooking breakfast for me and the Mrs.

Au contraire M. Manbearpig. I once saw a video by a geochemist who came up with a brilliant way of extracting all of the lead from some diamonds without introducing any contamination. He used a solar furnace to heat the diamond to about 1000 degrees C and then dropped the diamond into a teflon beaker filled with liquid oxygen. In a minute or so, the diamond had burned up completely and leaving all impurities from the diamond in the beaker. Impressive.

And it was 22F this morning here in SE Michigan.

131 so, i am rudely interrupting the sleepy walk into the day.
I have been pondering why justice re Trump -Russian , fbi ,doj and such.
i have several scenarios i am frustrated at and trying to thresh out.

slow walk- Mueller and team trying to find every bit of information , to Hide. while using his position.

Sessions attempting to dot every i, so that case is air tight.

i realize the fbi slow walking of documents can be reasonably attributed to their culpability in wrongdoing.

why congress/president in both their authoritive positions doesn't just demand all documents with threats of firings, (although i would assume firings is the least of many of those involved problems)

this is being 'managed' as to allow citizens to catch up and understand what is happening and the significance?

we will blow through midterms where dems will regain power G-D forbid! and shut it all down.

everyone might be slow walking because too much will be damaged by citizens recognition of how dirty everyone in govt actually is.

?
so that's what's bugging me. and good morning.

140 Although I sympathize with Ralph Norman's gun stance, and am a ccp holder myself, I think he screwed up with that display during the meeting. I'm not sure about South Carolina law, but in most states with concealed carry, the emphasis is on CONCEALED, and you are not allowed to brandish the weapon in public just to make a point. If he was wanting to display it in public as part of his communication to others, and NOT as a response to a threat, then the right way to do that was to publicly show the people that he was talking with that his weapon was unloaded - in order to remove any implicit threat that he might be making.

Remember that in Norman's case, he was expressly displaying his weapon in order to make a rhetorical point, NOT to respond to a threat. It was irresponsible of him, and probably a violation of the CCP regulations for him to brandish the loaded weapon in public in the manner that he did.

I'll also say that the main reason that he hasn't been accused of this so far is that just about all liberals and journalists (but I repeat myself) hate CCP laws so much that the prefer to remain stupid and won't even read them or pay any attention at all to what they actually say.

The big problem is that they've managed to skip right on ahead of the part where Obama is responsible for authorizing the full weight of the federal government to come down not only on a private citizen, but purposely on the candidate of the opposing political party *for political gain*, and all before changing the same government's rules to make the information more readily available after leaving office.

Trump answering "No, I'd a like Dr. Pepper" after previously answering "Yes, I'd like a Dr. Pepper" two dozen times is what they're after, all while ignoring that their godking changed the rules to something they'd demand jailing or execution over had it been an (R) president.

Not surprisingly, prosecutors offices across the country, from small to big, are the biggest supporters of keeping the system exactly the way that it is.

157 Dreams are a funny but sometimes serious subject. One thing I have thought since my 20's experienced with D&D was in them the roles of 'non player characters' in dreams meaning made up people totally or they could be someone you saw but never talked to just walked past them in a croud but then they become a taliking character in a dream.

The most that is going to happen is that poor schlub that the low information voters have never heard of is going to be in a lot of trouble.

While I was arguing with him, another guy showed up, then a woman, then a couple more guys. I didn't recognize any of them and none of them would give me a straight answer about how they got in. They were nonthreatening, but were just walking around and talking like they owned the place."

When did the price of whole milk begin exceeding that of skim and low-fat? I found that interesting as I would imagine that the latter would require additional processing, thus increasing the cost. Therefore, I'm wondering if it's a problem of demand or of social/dietary engineering.

If you mean Brennan, sure, he's very well known. So is James Clapper. So is Loretta Lynch and Sally Yates and James Comey and now Andrew McCabe. These are the people who would have had to approve the FISA application.

But you have to remember this is only one piece of the puzzle. There is still the rampant unmasking, the leaking, the Hillary email coverup and more. And that doesn't even include the multiple investigations into the Clinton Foundation and Uranium One.

We have never seen a scandal of this scope and breadth in the US, it is totally unprecedented and it likely will include corruption with some of our "allies" in the UK and Australia.

Do you really think it's a coincidence that Comey's book is coming out right now? How about Loretta Lynch surfacing after going dark for a year? Brennan and Clapper becoming paid media analysts?

They sure seem worried to me.

If you measure of success in all of this is seeing Obama in an orange jumpsuit you are likely to be disappointed. We don't jail ex-presidents in the US. If nothing else Trump would pardon him after he was exposed.

But I can see others indicted and convicted. It's not everyday we have senior government officials try to rig a presidential election, kind of unprecedented in fact, so it's impossible to know what will happen but people who have been, you should pardon the pun, sleeping on Jeff Sessions don't seem to have a clue about his background.

Actually, Willow, *both* sides - not just the Dems but the GOP-e, know that we have severe long term problems that right now they don't dare face - national debt, social security system collapse, unsupported entitlements, pension plans unable to be met (see Illinois & Connecticut)
the PLAN - and I seriously mean for all of the Washington Establishment, the PLAN is to wait until some horrible crisis hits, one so bad which will let them impose any draconian solution they want, and have us all take it due to us having no choice and being too scared at the time to object.

So no, fearing that is not "paranoid". It's just a rational evaluation of where we're headed, if the Establishment has its way.

They're rampantly corrupt. They have operatives, paid and unpaid, at all levels of government. They're a full on criminal enterprise with long-term goals and absolutely no underlying ethics. They will bribe, threaten, and steal anything or everything to get what they want.

218 America is a very wealthy country, and a lot of that wealth is spread among many people, the "middle class". People who own their own home and/or business are independent. They can run their own lives. They don't need rulers to order them around and tell them what to do.

It seems that people who believe they were "born to rule" want to put an end to all that, while scooping up all that decentralized wealth for themselves.
