The Morning Report 4/5/18

insurrectionisnot.jpg

Good morning kids. Thursday and up top we continue with immigration/amnesty and the latest manifestation of what is an invasion of our borders. The migrant "caravan" heading north is reportedly going to end in Mexico City. The President has announced that he intends to send troops to the border, which has the Democrat-Left-Media complex all enraged despite the fact that the last two president's also sent troops to the border. To my way of thinking, in his role as commander-in-chief, PDT can merely order the Army to station a few divisions on a rotating base from San Diego all the way to Padre Island and rotate them. "Desert training." There is still the issue of the Border Wall and whether or not it will be funded via the military budget or as a stand-alone item. It must be done and the border must be sealed along with the concomitant punishing of citizens knowingly employing illegal aliens and the ending of welfare in all of its forms given to these invaders. Yes, they are invaders who are pawns (unwittingly or otherwise) to ensure the swamping and eventual drowning out of our distinctly American identity. Aiding and abetting this premeditated invasion are the traitors and flunkies in our own government, the latest being the governor of Oregon who has announced her refusal to cooperate if the President activates the National Guard. Arrest her along with Libby Schaaf, Gerry Brown and anyone else who engages in sabotaging our national security.

On to the insurrection where Devin Nunes is demanding the full, unredacted documents that got this kangaroo court started in the first place, the heat is being (allegedly) turned up on John Brennan and more and more Mueller is coming up completely empty-handed. In semi-related news, Clinton money-laundering operation may face some scrutiny in, of all places, New Hampshire and Judicial Watch is demanding answers on Obama's funding of Soros-backed groups that attempted to destabilize Albania.

A Tom Steyer-funded group is funding more Kiddie Kommie Krusade town halls across the country as a way to demonize their parents into surrendering their G-d-given right of self defense and it looks like the cops in YouTube land got their training from the Broward Sheriff's School of Concealment and Bridge Building. Sheesh.

In economic news, there's talk of a trade war with the Chi-Coms who have retaliated against PDT's latest round of tariffs. Rush Limbaugh's take on this:

But the bottom line, the ChiComs can't afford a trade war. I know people don't want to look at it that way because people have been conditioned to think that the ChiComs are brute force strength and that they rule the world and we can't compete with them and this kind of thing, and that's not the case. The ChiComs have so much of our debt they purchased, they can't afford for the United States to go belly up economically. That's not at all what they want. It doesn't help them in that regard.

Meanwhile, an item you will not hear or see anywhere in the media, ADP is announcing hundreds of thousands of jobs were added in March. As the full effect of the tax cuts kick in I expect more reports like this in the coming months, and on a related note the evisceration of red tape and insane regulations will have a similar salutary effect. See the link about Scott Pruitt, in that regard.

Politically, as reported yesterday, a leftist hack was elected to the Wisconsin supreme court and Scott Walker is sounding the alarm bells about what this might mean nationally this November. On the one hand, yes we should never rest on our laurels and the GOP has done much to earn the enmity of the electorate that swept them into office on PDT's coattails. Also, incandescent, mad rage against PDT will doubtless be a factor come the Midterms. And yet PDT's approval has cracked 51% now in Rasmussen, Camera Hogg and Shaved Guevara have driven NRA membership to new heights and the Invasion of the Nation-Snatchers is scaring the citizenry.

Look the wall can be built, laws can be enforced and despite that insane Porkulus, there are ways to actually cut spending and reduce the deficits. BUT... it depends if the GOP majority wants to do this. So far, every indicator says not. Ugh. Bottom line: stay "woke" my friends.

From hither and yon, Joo-hate abounds on the campuses and in Jeremy Corbyn's Labour Party. With its toxic mix of Islam and anti-capitalist Marxism, small wonder. The great Clarence Thomas weighs in on the diversity scam and Daniel Greenfield with yet another warning about the invasion of the child-brain snatchers.

Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.

... oh, wait a minute. Enforcing our friggin' border is SUPPOSED TO BE a let function of the Federal Branch.

There are a million good reasons to not use Federal Troops to police American Citizens. But I can't think of a single one to not use US Troops to protect US Borders against Belligerent Foreign Nationals.

5 I don't think the governor of Oregon understands what happens when a national Guard unit is federalized, but I am sure she will learn.

In the meantime she has flashed her virtue signal for all to see. That's nice.

29 More Noos; today is Thursday, April 5, 2018. On this day in 1792 President George Washington exercised his authority to veto a bill. This was the first time this power was used in the United States. The Articles of Confederation had no power of 'the Veto'. The bill he vetoed was a new apportionment of taxes which Washington thought gave unfair advantage to the Northern States and did not meet the requirement in the new Constitution of apportionment by the number of citizens per the census.

"When you say immigrants are killing folks, that's us. That's you, you, you, you and you," she said, pointing at the different students, including Josie'.

6th grade? What's that - 11 years old? And Josie is a legal immigrant to boot.

    Posted by: grammie winger - at April 05, 2018 07:26 AM (lwiT4)

35 CA now says more than a million illegals now have CA driver's licenses. Question is, how many of them voted? Eleven other States allow illegals to get driver's licenses. Colorado, Hawaii, Vermont, New Mexico, Maryland, Illinois, Delaware, Washington, Nevada, Connecticut and Washington, D.C. also allow those without legal U.S. citizenship to apply for licenses if they can provide specific documentation, such as a foreign birth certificate, a foreign passport, or a consular card and evidence of current residency in the state. As you can see they are all blue State Hells, or are working to get that way. No mention is made for how they are preventing these illegals from voting. But since they none of these locations require a photo ID to vote anyway they probably just look the other way.

79 As I've been saying lately, as often as I can, the immigration push is a known military tactic. It's called a filibuster. It was common in the 1800s, when parts of the New World were still sparsely populated. Some guy who wanted to be a dictator would get together a small army, ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand, infiltrate them as colonists, and then replace the government by force or threat of force.

These attempts were always ostensibly private, but sometimes backed by sympathetic governments or wealthy backers

Today, it's a combination of NGOs and likely state actors, but it's the exact same pattern. The fact that most of the "migrants" in the "caravan", and most of the "Syrians" arriving in Western Europe are military-age men is a dead giveaway.

92 Ace got Kevin Williamson completely wrong. If you actually read the article, he's not ingratiating himself with the Left or his new editors at The Atlantic at all.

On the contrary, he's lamenting the strengthening of the two authoritatian parties in the US, and the loss of a traditional counterweight with the Libertarian (or Classical Liberal) faction of the GOP on the ropes.

The only reason Libertarianism is a thing is because of the policy implications that come out of it (small government without crazy spending, less interventionist foreign policy, personal liberty etc.) In other words, you can't get to the result of liberty without a coherent program of American government that provides it.

Moreover, America has never been totally off-the-charts Libertarian. The Fed was a reaction to the series of crashes of the late 19th Century. Regulation of business to promote competition has been seen by most a legitimate exercise of government power--otherwise monopolies crush innovators in the cradle, alá Tucker. Food rules came about because of lousy sanitation.

But the Libertarian critique is that pendulum has swung way too far, that government is too powerful and too profligate and we've forgotten that Liberty matters.

Williamson is being consistent here. Ace's take that he's boot-licking is just nonsense.

.And nothing can really be done until the first gun gets confiscated. After that, it is a textbook example of ex post facto law, which SCOTUS will take up.

That is why CT and NY are not doing anything about all of those unregistered "assault weapons" that people in those States failed to register even though in CT they know exactly who failed to register and what they have and where they live. The first time the Cops go and grab someone who didn't register it and then confiscates the weapon they will lose in the Courts.

That's why the USCOC has been so influential in keeping the GOP from being responsive to the actual GOP voters.

Eventually they rot and you can push them over. In yesterdays high winds I had an old dead tree blow over. About 3,000 pounds of tree. Came down with a helluva thump. Far enough from house.

The roots had decayed almost back to the base. They don't exactly rot overnight though. Takes years.

Fulfillment centers is where all the packaging takes place and they are huge and now highly automated, and more automating coming. I guess down the road they will run 24 hr and with most of the lighting turned off, as it won't be needed.

The table was set for the Rs to increase their majority, hence a little failure theater to drive down Republican enthusiasm and make sure that there's not a major shift toward a majority too powerful to explain their failures.

195 Yes, the cops in youtube land were incompetent at best. It really makes you start to wonder what exactly they do all day.

They had specific warnings from both the father and brother that someone close to them was holding a major grudge against youtube. And had been acting nuttier than usual. See something, say something, you could almost say here.

And yet not a soul at cops-r-us has come forward to say "Yep, we gave ythq a heads up to maybe be on their toes just a bit more over the next few days."

Sigh. I've had a few disgruntled employees (and for purposes of this argument, someone getting money from me somehow on a regular basis is an employee in fact) that I've let go; I was always more alert for a few days following a firing.

This is called common sense. Never had a problem though.

As I mentioned yesterday, the easiest legal route for Trump would be to get the approval of the border states' gubners to call those NG troops out.

The line up of Chris Tingles and his crew is so unpleasant to view. OMG its just old ugly angry whipepo all the time except when they put on a handsome young commie of color or desiccated Asian woman to scowl at Stormy Daniels photographs. My favorite screen was when they had Tingles on 25% of screen top to bottom and then the four guest in the other 75% set up like the opening of the Brady Bunch, or Hollywood Squares.

The really hilarious part is reading the closed captioned crawl on the bottom. Every fifth or so word was "maybe" "probably" "if" "maybe when" "suppose" "conjecture"

The whole show was clearly wish casting. And yet, people will stare at for an hour while leaning heavy on the handrails and walking nonchalantly on a treadmill or recumbent bike.

Finally some guy came in and put it on Lou Dobbs. He did his blah blah, then Kennedy came on. When we were in the midst of my son's 3rd heart surgery there was a big news story about how Duke had just performed a combo heart and lung replacement surgery on an illegal alien - all paid for by some local businessman. It was a nice story, to be sure, but it conjures up some other emotions as one contemplates how much you and your health insurer will be paying for your own (citizen) kid's medical care. Wondered how the local families of kids in need of heart or lung transplants (limited supply) felt about it, too. It's complicated - you don't want sick kids not getting care....

My daughter said you could see his face move through a full spectrum of emotion, starting with confusion and ending with terror. He quickly left.

No way would a federally chartered bank risk its ability to do business for a couple of pot accounts. State banks are regulated by state authorities so if state law makes it a legal business I suppose that's where the money must go. All those pot stores in Denver must have bank accounts somewhere, you would think.

353 The entire Mueller "probe" reeks of unConstitutionality: a prosecutor with an unlimited mandate to investigate an individual, a sitting President no less, and his "associates" (friends, family, business acquaintances) for any crime, without limitation as to time.

The whole thing, including spy warrants and search warrants, without even probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. Manipulation of the interview process to set "perjury traps" on collateral matters. And, of course, ignoring the entire slate of collusion and actual crimes (charity fraud, election violations) committed by Clinton, the DNC, Fusion GPS, Brennan, etc etc etc.

Trump is circumscribed by the obvious potential to characterize any limitations he might impose as "obstruction" etc. The ball is squarely in the Court of Congress to shut down this shit show.

I don't think it takes a STEM degree to know that re-using is better than recycling.

Your beer bottles used to look banged up because when you returned them to the distributor they'd go back to the bottler and get washed and reused.

One of the coolest old timey things we did when we lived in NYC was have a seltzer subscription. You'd get a wood box with slats and a dozen or two seltzer bottles that looked like they went back to the thirties, and one nozzle for letting the seltzer out.

Why did we stop reusing things?

Pale Moon has an export function for bookmarks, in the Organize Bookmarks menu. Puts them all in a single HTML file, which you can import into any other browser. Look in the target browser for the import bookmarks function.

You might need to rearrange things a bit, but it'll get all the links moved over.

The big problem is passwords. Haven't found a way to port them over from browser to browser. I just pulled up the password list and did Alt-Print Screen, pasting the result into a Word file to save. Then log in to each site and input manually and save. Sucks to do it like that, but doing the most important passwords only takes a few minutes, then it's just a matter of a few per day.

Addendum: Pretty much anyone who announces medical and/or very personal information publicly and non-anonymously ain't right in the head. Double that for girls. And vegans too.

Not at her workplace, at a "Womens Conference" of some kind in Boston. Her boss assigned her to go, per HR. I think they gave money to the sponsors, so the firm looks like they care about women in business, and were forced to send attendees as a result. My daughter is the youngest one, so her boss told her she drew the short straw.

So far, the conference has advised her to never trust her husband and that "family" is a debilitating social construct that will damage her career. Because work is everything, I guess.
