Our baby berner had that. The vet recommended waiting until the spay surgery, do the repair then, to avoid having 2 separate surgeries. Pup born late March, surgery was mid-October, as soon as she was old enough to be spayed. If I had to do it again I would NOT wait, because we had a complication. In August vet said pup had an infection, put her on an antibiotic, but the antibiotic gave her diarrhea. We were about to call the vet when she called us to say, no infection after all, stop the med. Even after stopping it, pup still had diarrhea every single time she pooped, until surgery. As soon as pup had the surgery, boom, diarrhea immediately gone. She still gets a little pocket of goo at the hernia scar site that we have to squeeze every few days and swipe with hydrogen peroxide.

I lost power for three days last week. Worst part was that although I have a solar charger for my phone there simply wasn't enough sunshine to recharge it. Bummer.

But I discovered on Amazon a combination hand generator plus solar cell equipped AM/FM Weather Band radio that will charge a cell phone. Turn the crank for about a minute and you get about half an hour of radio. Not sure how long to recharge a phone. But if you're sitting around with no electricity or internet, I guess it's no big deal. This sucker is no bigger then a fist.

My bank used to have a Toys for Tots box in the lobby during Christmas season. Since I went there every Friday after work I took to buying a couple of toys at Toys R Us beforehand to donate.

It was fun shopping there with no pressure. I just bought the sort of things I would have liked when I was a kid. Of course I only bought boy's toys. I didn't bother with girl's toys. I had no idea what girls like and I figured that women who wanted to donate could take care of that.

Once I bought a remote controlled battery operated tarantula. I was seriously tempted to keep that for myself, but I didn't know whether the cats would be fascinated or terrified.

An Ontario court has ruled a Christian couple's rights were violated when the government closed their foster home for refusing to tell their foster kids about the Easter Bunny.

Shortly after, the two girls were then taken away and their foster home was closed.

216 People will go after guns to "solve" all of society's ills. They will do this because it is simple, and it is easier to go after inanimate objects; they don't protest too much. The real issues most don't want to face:

1. There is a societal issue that results from the break down of families, the lack of cohesiveness and charity toward others. The lack of any unity because of societal decadence pushed by weak families, the media, academia, and the throw away culture of internet connected devices.

2. This is a nation of almost 330 million people. Obviously some bad shite is going to go down among a few. Our 24/7 internet/media world will obsess about the strange and horrifying occurrences on a daily basis. This happened a year ago, a month ago, and a week ago. This will happen a week from now, a month from now, and a year from now.

All tragedies are sad and terrible. But the media is not going to fix any of them. They actually live off them, that is how they make their living. If change will ever occur, it will be based on societal change and government can not make this occur. However, government CAN impede social healing, it has proven that. I don't have the answer, but I do know that most are offering so called solutions that don't even come close to the addressing the real problem.

264 Besides the obvious deterrent factor, there's another big plus to arming adults at schools - millions of yutes will reach adulthood having been around guns, and will observe that none went off.

That will go a long way in helping restore a bit of sanity in the discussions about eeeeevil guns.

265 There was an enormous bike parts store in my old neighborhood that used to baffle me. I drove up and read their hours sign one and discovered they were hardly ever open, with very limited hours and never more than a few cars in the lot. (and I as I was looking at the sign I realized they were supposed to be open right then, yet the door was locked and the lights were out.) I couldn't figure out how this huge place could stay in business.

I later found out they do the vast majority of their business through online sales.

267 If your kids are excited about "A Wrinkle in Time" have them read the book. Can the movie make the book better? Obviously the answer is no. It only can make it worse.

268 No, we don't sell cassette tapes. Just Scotch Tape.

269 Seems to be lots of pearl clutching about any number of Dem pols meeting with or declining to distance themselves with Farrakahn. Not just Fredo, but other mostly CBC members.

Why should they? Farrakahn doesn't seem to hold any unorthodox Democrat views, although he is a bit more forthright about them. Am I missing something?

It will probably become an acid test to be a (D) candidate the same way their pro-abortion position is.

277 (123) What? So they can move their retirement age to about 42? Who bails out the bailer outers?

Oh yeah. Me. I'd gladly sell a kidney for that.
Need more coffee. I hear it ruins kidneys. They're not really mine anymore anyhow.
