1 Good Morning Morons; today is Sunday, March 4, 2018. On this day in 1794 the 11th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was passed by the U.S. Congress. You don't hear too much about this in these days. What the 11th says is The Judicial power of the United States shall not be construed to extend to any suit in law or equity, commenced or prosecuted against one of the United States by Citizens of another State, or by Citizens or Subjects of any Foreign State. However during the liberal court days the court ruled that the States did not have sovereign immunity when being sued by the federal government.

Two Missouri men convicted of dragging a kitten behind a jeep last June and posting the act on social media in a bid to get viewers to spring for a pizza have each been sentenced to four years in prison for animal abuse.

Kyle Williams, 18, of Branson, and Jordan Hall, 19, of Arnold, both pleaded guilty earlier this year, the Kansas City Star reported.

Williams posted a video of the torture to a Facebook group. The video purportedly shows the cat being dragged behind the vehicle as Hall drives.

At the end, Williams kills the kitten with a rock. According to a prosecutor, Williams posted the cat's murder on Facebook so his audience would buy him a pizza.

Four years? I would bash them with a rock and permanently eliminate them from civil society.

LOL, at the time we were not a code county, but we are now. But there is no law according to a lawyer I talked to requiring a fence. However, he said that if I had a fence around it an some kid climbed over the fence and drowned I would be OK because if he was big enough to climb over the fence he was big enough to be responsible for himself. So it was a 'don't sue me fence'.

Only U.S. citizens or valid visa holders can receive Social Security disability benefits, and they must reside in the United States.

My favorite dichotomy are the folks who are against the death penalty but are for abortion. No logic in that position.

I college, during one of our dorm room bullshit sessions, one guy stated he was for the death penalty but opposed to abortion. When called on holding such opposing positions, he had a ready and clear answer: Those on death row had their chance at this life and blew it. An aborted baby never had a chance and yet is just as dead.

107 Up early on my birthday because I slept so soundly last night. We went to the Newsboys United concert last night, and had a blast! Front-row seats, photo-op with the band, and Pooky made it through THE ENTIRE CONCERT! He was a little stressed at the end because a girl behind him was singing along off-key and out of rhythm, but it was a great present to me to see him handle a crowd that well. The family next to us brought along a Cap'n Crunch box for The Breakfast Song, and the band loved it. This is going on my "Top Birthdays" list!

I took a philosophy class as part of my gen. ed. requirements; prof. was an openly avowed Communist that also taught logic. Subject of death penalty/abortion came up and he made the point that if you believed in the "sanctity of life" then supporting capital punishment while opposing abortion was illogical.

He then asked the class for another viewpoint. I responded that I supported capital punishment/opposed abortion based on "personal responsibility." The murderer was responsible for his actions while the fetus was not responsible for his conception. Prof. was silent for a moment and then said he had never heard anyone take that position before but found it logical.

Not at all. Of course, my smoker isn't large so I'm not trying to cook huge amounts of mixed meats at one time. I did smoke a couple salmon fillets along with the loin this last time and both turned out delicious.

I believe that the original Hebrew is a little ambiguous - their words just don't have the same sematical distinctions English does - but taken in context with the rest of the Law (basically an expansion and application of the 10 Commandments) "murder" is the most appropriate English translation.

Local police had a more in depth press conference yesterday.
Apparently, Jr. had run into the campus police dept. saying that someone was trying to kill him Thursday night. Police trying to talk to him, he pointed out a man whom he said had a gun and was going to kill him. Said person was detained and found to have zero involvement with Jr. , no weapons, etc.
Jr. again began to exhibit extreme paranoia, etc. and campus police called his parents ( even though he was 19...) and his mother agreed with police that this sounded like a drug induced problem and to take him to hospital. He was admitted to hospital and parents arrived to in AM to pick him up, hospital released him. They all went back to his dorm to pack his stuff , at one point he went down to the parking lot to parent's car, and when he came back across parking lot, he was carrying his father's pistol per surveillance camera. He went back into dorm and shot both parents with it, then fled.
When he was found on the railroad tracks at midnight, he was incoherent, confused, and hypothermic.

He is currently in the hospital under guard.

My guess is he is suffering from drug induced psychotic paranoia. Maybe meth, whatever.

CMU had to add in that it was illegal for his father to have brought a gun , even in his vehicle, onto campus, as CMU is a gun free zone.
The only people allowed guns are active duty police and those with "special permission".

Ok, maybe they shouldn't have left Jr. with the key's to the car. My guess is parent's were in denial as to how bad kid's episode was.

Or it was all a big act, although I don't think so.

151 When I smoke meats, except for fish, I usually will use some foil and wrap the cuts, or put them in a disposable pan, covered with foil for the last couple of hours. I've been told that meat can only "take so much smoke." Then it stops absorbing it.

The previous loins I've done using this method have all be moist and tasty.

I've been less successful with the ribs for some reason. Probably the bones in them.

I usually use mulberry to smoke salmon (because there's a mulberry tree in our yard so grabbing a branch is easy) and cook over oak (because that's what I have), but this time I only used the oak and it was amazingly wonderful. I *did* use an Asian-inspired glaze and let it set on the salmon in the fridge for an hour or so, and that may have made a difference.

I've stopped using a water pan because my son accidentally broke the chiminea while mowing. Which sounds like a huge non sequiter. I put some of the unglazed terra cotta pieces under the rack that holds the fire because, in theory, the heated clay should give off heat steadily like an old-fashioned bread oven..
